  1. Actualy no it's a yet another thread where somebody decides to make a name for themselves by being 'controversial' knowing full well the response they will get. A poster that has watched highlights last season but has come over all mystic meg and already can tell us what kind of a season we will have next year. Even Jim is prepared to wait till the first couple of games next season. Well I watched most of our games last season, and I'm certainly not "trying to make a name for myself", but I find myself agreeing with some of what ptholt has said and virtually all of what EiT said. I'm not remotely excited about the signings we've made or been linked with so far, I've got no faith that Souness will learn from his many mistakes of last year, and I suspect we'll struggle again next season. The time to judge is at Christmas, not after a couple of games - we started pretty well last year if you remember. However, that doesn't mean we can't speculate and add our opinions on here. By all means, if we're in the top half at Xmas and playing well you can dig this thread up and give me all the stick you want. I'll be delighted to take it. But slagging people just because they post something negative about the Rovers is just childish. I wondered how long it'd take the gloom monster to arrive. Here you go your vulgurness. Your throne awaits The gloom merchants have the best of both world though. On one hand, when things are going well they can say 'yeeeeah, we're looking good, i love it when we win' on the other hand if we lose they can say 'i told you so!' I'm gonna join them, it's much more fun. What do they do in training, go Oysterhausen, Andre/re-sen/son/san almost cost this club dearly, Cole will leave, Souness out, bring back Batty and co. swans are harder
  2. That's true. The only question is for how long before he has another fit. Papers claim that we're looking for the price we paid for him, we paid Charlton the 750k asking price however since we've paid them two extra installments based on the clause in the deal. So are we asking for more than 750k or will JW sell him for whatever we pay for Matteo - just to free up the space. Yep, thats todds main problem. Controlling his anger and his dummy spitting. Mind you, RFW managed it with that Irish thug.
  3. Whoever gets him for the suggested asking price (750k) will be getting themselves the bargin of the season.
  4. Had a pack come through (Not even a season ticket holder) and i can't seem to see an option of a half season ticket from xmas onwards. Does this offer usually only appear around xmas time?
  5. Davies was alright for Bolton last year and he hadn't scored for a while and not played much for us or Southampton. I'm not agree with the man making this topic though, just saying, Bridges might suprise a few people.
  6. Went out this afternoon with the missus for lunch to the park. Upon arriving at the park i noticed about 30 geese hanging around the car park looking into cars and basically messing with their burberry caps. I went down to the duck pond to enjoy watching the families feeding the mallards, coots, swans and various other forms of bird life within said pond. After about 10 minutes one of the swans piped up and told the gang of geese to bugger off away from his C reg Ford Sierra 1.6 'Ghia'. This infuriated the geese and they decided to head down to the pond and give all the mouth to the swans. Unfortunately i didn't get a chance to find out who was the hardest in the ruck as one of the families must have called the police who came down and calmed the potential ruck down.
  7. Sadly that's true! I do have less charisma than a block of Lancashire Crumbly! How depressing. I'd kill myself but I've just forked out £450 on season tickets so I'll leave it until Christmas. Do it before xmas, that way you don't have to bother getting presents, going round the in-laws, crap xmas dinners, falling asleep in front of the tv, having to go back to work the day after boxing day...
  8. Do you mean let him go to Ewood or release him into the wild? Release him into the wild. School, TV, magaizines, bullies, cheese and mates are much more of a bigger influence on your kids than you ever will be.
  9. There's no way that's going to happen!! I'll persevere! He's had Blackburn Rovers drummed into him since birth anyway. Rovers romper suits, Rovers bibs, Rovers T-shirts, Rovers shirts - he's seen me wearing all of them. Then there's Rovers books, calendars, programmes and videos all round the house. There's not much more I can do. Just need the team to start performing now... Let him go for his own good!
  10. I can't actually remember saying i didn't want us to win. Please, do show me
  11. I can't see the Dutch getting out of their group. Czech Republic for me.
  12. We are though! Although we beat Iceland 6-1, our defence was bloody shocking at times. Paul Robinson looked a tighter and sharper option to David James but SGE won't have any of it. We'll beat france, draw to Switzerland and lose to Croatia and still go out. We're crap.
  13. Let go and concentrate on the thread. Not gonna get past the group stages.
  14. Pringle 9 or Pringle 21? I'd wait a bit anyway, Big Col should be calling me anytime soon to play for Blackpool.
  15. Or both of you I know i know nothing abuot football and don't doubt that. As for others...
  16. I'm still looking for a photo of Ste actually running...nothing yet...
  17. Nothing on newsnow yet, but i really hope this is true.
  18. @ Waggy - Don't get me wrong, i love the idea of youth coming through the ranks and succeeding for Rovers. We've produced some fantastic youth players in the past and they've don'e excellent for us. BUT - we haven't got any youth players of good enough quality yet. The likes of Barker and Garner are coming through but not right now. For the time being, we have this proven goal scorer with the work rate of about 70 horses. So lets enjoy the few years of service he gives us whilst Barker and Garner are getting older and ready for the big time.
