  1. Agree there, so until we get rid of the chaff do we play Santa and Derbyshire? I am sure he could feed from and to Santa Cruz well.
  2. I think he would be great in the Scottish Premier League, I thought Rangers were sniffing around for him. Go there Axe become a cult hero.
  3. Is there anyone that knows the comparison of transfer funds available to each and how much each has spent? I think we will see that there is a huge difference there and could be cause for the apparent success. I am not arguing and slighting anyone but I remember Souness having copious amounts of money in comparison to Hughes.
  4. There was a meteorite that passed through a basketball hoop and killed a man with a blow to the temple, neither are likely to happen again soon.
  5. Sad though, I liked the 2005.5 model quite a bit.
  6. Agreed, would be a good movie though. Looking forward to Sweeny Todd big time though.
  7. Maybe, I didnt think of that mate. Maybe you have a point Info
  8. Oh on that note, There are tons of cool pictures of the filme here Pictures During I am Legend there were movie posters around New York with a Superman symbol with a Batman symbol over the top of it. Could this be a clever advertisement for the long awaited Superman Vs Batman?
  9. SOME PEOPLE MAY SEE SPOILERS OF SORTS HERE Just watched I am Legend. I made sure I went into this repeating to myself its just a film, its just a film, there was never a book, there was never a book. It worked kind of and I enjoyed it as a film. Will Smith did a great job playing a character that was alone for so long. The plot was decent too, which surprised me as they had butchered the hell out of the book. I was so happy that they got rid of the whole tribal thing with the vampires (Sorry infected) from the first draft of the script and made them pretty much what they were in the book. If you are a puritan and want it to all end the way it did when it was written or even the old classic "The Last Man On Earth" with Vincent Price you are in for a shock. Except for the fact that his name is Nevil, he is in a city (they changed it to New York), a dog plays a part (completely different situation though), and there are people that want to kill him, there are NO other similarities at all. Good film though go and see it, much better than I expected.
  10. I always liked the boy myself, had a cool enough head on his shoulders in defense. He might be worth picking up on a free but then again wages would be required elsewhere.
  11. Here would be the links http://www.qpr.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=92962 http://www.clubcall.com/index.jsp?storyID=330315
  12. Seems Taylor is on his way out of Birmingham http://www.sportbox.tv/football/news/story.php?id=256969 http://icbirmingham.icnetwork.co.uk/0200sp...-name_page.html
  13. Just finished reading The Complete Robot by Isaac Asimov, if you all haven’t read it you should do so. It contains all the stories from I, Robot as well, not the Will Smith paff though, it is completely different. The best story in my opinion is “Victory Unintentional” which had me rolling on the floor. I kept picturing the Jovian’s as Man Utd fans, if you read it you will understand what I mean. Well anyway it is a quick read due to the fact that it is a bunch of short stories so you can power through them easily. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed at all.
  14. Just read this due to your review here, very good choice liked it a lot. Liked the way it clipped along and delved right into how his mind worked. The math problems and logic problems were cool too seeing how he took them apart and is a good novel as a family drama too. Something you might try if you feel the need for some morbid darkness is "The Virgin Suicides" just finished that an hour ago and thought it was rather well done. Darkly funny in some spots and very sad in others, I know it is dated but I am trying to read all these books I have missed when I was on ships for so long. Well thanks again Colin keep the titles coming.
  15. I thought I heard him say he wouldnt mind it, but then again we may get anyone.
  16. I didn't mean to sound obtuse but it seems that the press seem to think we have a God (sorry if I offend anyone) given right to be in every final that comes around. I like the team and pay horrendous amounts of money here in the states to watch it on the TV, but since Euro96 it seems to me that the management just think that what ever they through out on the pitch will suffice as we are England. Look at the team sheet tonight with all of the out of position players for example and to start a newbie in goal in this game?
  17. I knew as soon as he changed back to that awful formation with Crouch up by himself again we would loose. The commentator said as much, give him the bloody job or hold a "Who wants to be the England Manager" reality TV show. We will get better prospects than that Muppet that is being fired as we speak.
  18. Have to agree with you with the gunslinger series very very clever and well done. Not so much for Insomnia, I was happy with the ties in's to the Dark Tower series though and in all it was a decent read. Now the Talisman by the same author was good didnt you think?
  19. I know it may seem incomprehensible that I finished another book but this one was recommended to me and I thought what the hell. I looked at the cover with slight dread when I got it from the library and was kind of nervous that it would be a complete waste of time. The book is called “Never Let me Go” by the author of “The Remains of the Day” Kazuo Ishiguro. To put it lightly I have never yet had a book disturb and sadden me as much as this one did. Don’t get me wrong it is not nasty or anything like that, it is just so distressingly passive the way the narrator goes on with the story and how normal this all is to her. I had no clue the book was about what it was when I started and all through it there was this faint undercurrent of dread. I finished it at 0130 last night and had to go wake up my wife and lie there holding her I was so distressed. I am not saying don’t read it, I am saying do read it and carefully, it may change how you feel about things. If anyone has read it please give me your thoughts.
  20. "O my brothers" I have just finished reading A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, what a good read that was. I am sure that many of you have read it before but if not give it a go, as always the film can not do it justice. Make sure that you read the UK version though, as in the US you can get fobbed off with the version missing the final chapter (make sure yours has 21 not 20). For reasons of effect the US publisher made the story end on a note more like the film, if you read the last chapter the whole novel means a lot more. Also make sure you get a NADSAT dictionary from here This is the way teenagers speak in the book and it can get a malenky bit confusing for your gulliver. You will learn skorry though and in no raz you will get the hang of it. A novel of government meddling and what can happen with the loss of free will.
  21. These are the books that I have read over the last few weeks, hope it gives someone a good book to chew on. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick. What a great read this was, it kept me up to 0315 and I finished it in one sitting. I have watched Blade Runner but this book puts it all into another level, leaves you asking why the hell did they not put all of this in the film? The Turner Diaries by William Luther Pierce (under the pseudonym Andrew Macdonald) I read this because I was curious. JESUS!!! If the militias in the US have any thoughts like this it is only a matter of time before we are in hell. This book was called the blueprint for the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. How Few Remain by Harry Turtledove This was a fun read on alternate history that I killed in two days, it is now in a series of about 12 books, this being the first. CSA wins the civilwar and abolishes slavery on thier own. The US hates the CSA and has another war with them. Fatherland by Robert Harris A very good book about an alternate Europe and the SS as the local police of Germany in the 60's I Am Legend by Richard Matheson This is superb, the movie Last Man on Earth made a pretty good wack at this book but it has to be read and re-read to understand the greatness of this book. A man dealing with living by himself as the last man on earth that is not a vampire.
  22. http://www.sportbox.tv/football/news/story.php?id=255180 Sheffield United boss Bryan Robson has handed a trial to ex-Liverpool and Blackburn midfielder David Thompson.
