  1. Went to Changs Gourmet restaurant on Darwen street on monday, all you can eat for £11.50.Was very good food with penty of choice and quick service too.
  2. Sorry,i forgot to post back on here about the Farmers Glory on Haslingden old road... Anyhow there was 11 of us that went over xmas (9 adults and 2 children) imo it`s not very child friendly at all, there was no seperate childrens menu you just ordered smaller portions of the main courses! Taking into account that most dishes were steak or game it didn`t leave much choice for the kids (despite the fact when my mum rang with the booking she was told there was a good choice for children). I had chicken liver pate to start which was probably the worse pate i have had,it was too smooth for my liking to the point it was quite sickly and it was tasteless. It also didn`t help by having a 1/2" layer of solid fat to take off first! For mains I had sliced Duck (nice) with potato gratin (delicious) which was accompanied by 1/2 a plate of RED cabbage (wtf?) apparently it`s the `in` thing at the moment.. .For desert though I had Eton mess which was ok but definitely not the best I have had. Overall it was ok but I didn`t think it was brilliant and when you are averaging £15-£24 for a mains and around the £5 mark for starters and desserts,I expected far better.Nice enough decor and friendly enough staff but I won`t be rushing to go back thats for sure, especially when there are cheaper and better alternatives elsewhere.
  3. Had to feel sorry for Lewis tonight he didn`t deserve a 5-0 thrashing but you have to say Taylor was sensational and as always is the man to beat.
  4. Oh dear! i`m going on Tuesday with family.. fingers crossed!
  5. Watched District 9 on friday, personally couldn`t see what all the fuss was about. It was ok but nothing better than ok. 6/10 However today i went to see Avatar....wow absolutely stunning visually! plot was a bit same old same old but that wasn`t really the point of the film.Good characters and great action, but the best part for me is the fact you forgot that what you was seeing was mainly CGI (which i was a bit apprehensive about!). It definitely raises the bar in how movies are made. 10/10
  6. has anybody tried the Farmers glory on Haslingden old road? just wondered if the food was as good as the price suggests....
  7. Watched a few films lately: Wanted:bending bullets in a complete circle? oh dear enough said....0/10 Don`t mess with the Zohan:one of those films that i had been meaning to watch for ages and never got around to.Absolutely hilarious....9/10 Christmas carol (Jim Carrey):ok,nothing spectacular but great animation and really puts you in the Christmas mood....6/10 Whilst watching Christmas Carol, they showed a 3D trailer for Avatar. It really does look very good indeed, fantastic effects and should be brilliant in 3D.Just hope the story matches the effects though as i get the feeling we`ve seen it all before.
  8. Been to see Tarantino`s latest film Inglourious Basterds today. What an absolute cracker! Definitely back on form and back to doing what he does best.At 2 1/2 hours it is a long film but for my money i wasn`t too bothered because you knew what it was building up to,so you weren`t clockwatching as such. Christolph Waltz is absolutely spellbinding and is surely worth an oscar nomination? Brad Pitt too is brilliant as always (his italian accent is hilarious!) alongside a good solid cast.Sure historical facts have been altered to suit the film but that is totally irrelevent.I was sat there for the entire length of the film with a big smile on my face and just enjoyed every second of it.Without a shadow of a doubt my film of the year so far...10/10 for me.
  9. Top food as always! I really recommend the steak and kidney pudding, all food is freshly cooked hence you have to wait a good 1/2 hour,But it is well worth the wait. Also for anybody that goes to Alton Towers i recommend The Red Cow in Werrington. They serve pub food in the bar area but also have an a la carte restaurant in the back of the pub/conservatory.Mains desserts and soft drinks for 2 adults and 2 children £54 and worth every penny!
  10. Very good food, hoping to go again on Thursday weather supposed to be nice so we can walk it off after!
  11. And blindfolded as well! Total mismatch to be honest,Taylor is simply in a different league at the moment....
  12. Mmm chicken `n` ribs,my favourite, always with the little potatoes.
  13. Went to the excellent `Copper pot` indian restaurant again in Rochdale last night.£60 for me wife and 2 kids (wife had a bottle of zinfandel though!) Food as usual superb (chicken tikka bhuna) and service is as good as you will find anywhere. Nice touch at the end of the meal where i got a brandy and the wife had a baileys,`compliments of the manager`.
  14. Must admit i was shocked at the time of the F.A appointing McClown as England manager,he had the same record as domestic manager at Middlesbrough as our very own Graeme Souness had at Rovers (in fact Souey`s league placings were slightly better).Could you imagine the furore if we had appointed Souey as England manager? Anyway,Capello SHOULD have been appointed England manager straight after Sven.If we can keep players fit (especially up front! ) then we have a real chance of having a proper go at winning the world cup in South Africa next year.
  15. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2312327.ece like this guy did?

  17. Watched Bolt tonight, very good family film.Much better than i thought it would be,`Rhino` the hamster steals the show!
  18. Bloody hell! fair play to the guy, that would take some doing at 22 never mind 62!
  19. Saw megadeth at donnington`88 they were brilliant,Lars Ulrich came on as special guest and did `anarchy in the uk`with them.Great stuff! Happy days!
  20. Well the Power was just too good for Barney tonight.Pity though Barney seemed to give up half way through the match.. Barney hit a nice 161 checkout and Taylor hit a cheeky 125 (bull-25-bull)checkout.Atmosphere seemed good as well,i really am going to try to get to one of these do`s.
  21. Anybody heard Fleet foxes? Their single mykonos is getting loads of airplay at the moment, very mellow and most definitely a different sound.TBH it`s the type of music i shouldn`t really enjoy but strangely i do... Mind you it`s no surprise really considering my cd collection includes artists such as Johann Strauss, The Prodigy,Boston,Camel,Foo Fighters,Seal,Rolling Stones,Metallica and The Ting Tings. Talk about varied...
  22. Again i`m not overally sure the best way to provide funds as i don`t know what amounts are required per annum.Somebody came up with an idea of going to the ground before a home game with buckets collecting cash this sounds a good idea and you would have 2 volunteers here. Another idea, how about having t-shirts with BRFCS.com printed on to sell on the site? not sure of the cost involved in doing something like this or whether it is viable, but just trying to throw a couple of ideas out ?
