  1. It was simple question which you refuse to answer so I will ask again Are you renewing your season ticket this coming season? My point on Mowbray should be sack stands. He should have been fired already but somehow he has managed to escape. This coming season he will be under huge pressure from fans when we are back inside the stadium. Hopefully I will see you in there.
  2. Not at all Matty. Maybe 2 seasons ago but after last season they wont be interested. Only has stupid as your previous one. We all know that Mowbray is very lucky that he has escape the sack this summer after last season poor results and performances. The pressure will be on this coming season with fans back inside Stadium. Renewing Stuart or will you be giving it up and protesting outside the ground for Mowbray to be sack?
  3. Harwood-Bellis performed very well last season for us and can't believe you wouldn't want him. We have Ayala who is injury prone and will probably not be available for most of the season. You could well end up with THB and Carter in defence next season if Lenihan gets injury. Why not get him back on a loan until January when Wharton should be back. I was in favour of Mowbray playing Pike, McBride, Burns, Whitehall in some of the last few games last season. Next season we will have Nyambe, Lenihan, Wharton, Carter, JRC, Buckley, Travis, Pike and probably McBride all part of the 1st team squad. Thats will be 9 players from academy/Under 23's in our first team squad.
  4. does it matter really Stuart? Maybe Mowbray will be target by WBA after being there years ago and achieve promotion there
  5. Why is any one bothered about this guy career anymore?
  6. Who would be in midfield 4 and the 2 up front? Does it include Buckley? Why not play Buckley as number 10 in 4-2-3-1? Not against playing 4-4-2 but we need a left foot left winger and good defensive midfield partner for Travis to make it work for me? I'm wasn't expecting answers today btw
  7. was Rhodes a Lambert's type striker? not for me.
  8. Lambert wasn't recruited to sell Rhodes but I did say from the day he was appointed that he would sell Rhodes in January and bring in the strikers he wanted to play with long term. Lmabert has always played with a Target man striker with pacey striker or skillful number 10. Rhodes fits not of those roles so would he keep him. Look at the 3 strikers Lambert recruited in January, Graham on loan who I believe Lambert would have signed permanent in summer on a free, Watt on loan with a view to 2 million move in the summer and Jackson on a free. Each fits their roles. He was clever and knowledge to put in a release clause cos clearly he didnt trust Venkys to follow through with their promises of funded and didn't want to be stuck here. @tomphilpost is correct on this subject Depends on who is interest from Premier League and what they are willing to offer. I think he wants a return to Newcastle and maybe Bruce isnt interested this summer. Plus why not get a pay rise and more secure in a new bigger contract
  9. Bournemouth, WBA, Sheffield United all need new manager before the new season so it will be interest who they appoint Wouldn't be surprise if Frank Lampard took the Bournemouth job Sheffield United looks likely to appoint Jokanovic as next boss Don't see WIlder getting the WBA unless he accepts Luke Dowling role as Sporting Director or he gets his wishes and Dowling role is removed or change and he gets overall charge. Other possible candidates could be Steve Cooper, Karl Robinson or Valerien Ismael.
  10. We will agree to disagree on this. He knew what was needed and who he wanted. Graham was his key player in his attack. Plus I think Hanley or Duffy wouldnt have wanted out
  11. I disagree about Armstrong's lack of footballing intelligence. He has pace and can score goals from inside and outside of the Penalty area. Rhodes was never going to cut it due to lack of pace or strength in the PL. I surprise he got a move to Huddersfield this past week so early in the summer given how Huddersfield only play with 1 striker. Maybe they going to change Style of play or formation?
  12. I wouldn't give him a new contract. Release him and move on Would be excellent news for the club, fans and Mowbray depends what these supposedly interested PL clubs are saying? Maybe they dont want to pay our asking price or Armstrong isn't interested moving away in these clubs and wants a return to Newcastle?
  13. Gauld could still here and help us improve on last season aswell as our other summer signings up the league. We haven't challenge for the playoffs places for various reasons and manager appointments. If we had kept Lambert for a full season then I think we would have made the top 6 under him. He knew what was needed to achieve here and to get top 6. Mowbray and Bowyer should have achieved it with their squad they had. We need a good defensive midfielder aswell as creative midfielder as we cant rely on Buckley all season Can You expand on this JB? If he stays and signs a new contract then I agree with @JoeHthat resigning Harwood-Bellis on loan next season is vital. Yes we would have less money to spend this summer making its vital that we get our signings correct and this is where our recruitment department investment needs to step up and deliver this summer. Also Mowbray needs to trust his recruitment department and it will be interesting who is appoint our new head of recruitment Even if we loan Pears we have more than enough already at the club to be number 2 and 3 next season. We have the Greek keeper, Eastham, Hilton and Downing. We have enough.
  14. Sunderland bottled it that season and Lincoln deserved to beat them today over 2 legs
  15. Maybe that's your opinion but for me it's just the player we need. Someone with creative spark which we lack for a couple of seasons under Mowbray. If we are going to play the way Mowbray wants then we need some creative in midfield whether its left winger or number 10 player or centre midfielder. Cant rely on just Buckley to do this and Rothwell looks like he is likely to going.
  16. thanks for the reply. Haven't seen football news for the last few days apart a few articles on Rovers. Will be interesting how Cowley reshapes the squad at Portsmouth there. thanks
  17. very highly rated a few years ago and thats where Sporting Lisbon signed him. describe has the Scottish Messi I believe He is a number 10 player and would add creative spark to our play and thats what we lack last season. Plenty of Clips online to view thats show his talent over the past 6 years. Please take a look
  18. Yes League 1 is looking very strong and tough to call who will win promotion next season. Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday will be huge rebuilding jobs player recruitment wise. Is Cowley staying at Portsmouth? Will Richardson remain at Wigan for next season? Didn't Sunderland but Will Grigg for 4 million pounds whilst in the first season in league 1?
  19. Gauld is a no brainer for me and hopefully we can get the best out of him if he signs here. Dewsbury-Hall would be good option in a midfield role next Travis and Buckley in midfield 3 but for me we need a good centre midfielder who has the defensive attributes to protect the back 4
  20. It does appear that Mowbray has survive for this season poor results and performances. But he will be under pressure this coming season and fans are back within the stadium aswell.
  21. Sunderland fans have thought that for the past 3 seasons and never got up unlike we did under Mowbray. Thats was a point I make when we got promotion from League 1 thats if you don't get promote in the first season then you are likely to struggle to get back up
  22. No surprise McCarthy at Cardiff went for Collins and another striker to help Moore out. Was linked with Boro and Bristol City aswell. Boro has signed Lumley as number 1 for next season haven't they? Not seen much of Field to comment enough on him but was highly rated at WBA when Pulis was there why unrealistic? He would be regular starter here and key player for us. Would he be that at some of the other clubs who want him. Hope he doesn't go to the MLS club. Why loan Dolan out? Why not play him wide and used his tricky and pace to our benefit next season on the right side of front 3 or wide man in 4 man midfield with JRC for competition for the wide spot. Unsure whether we should sign Chapman for next season Would Rhodes fit into Mowbray's way of playing and formation? Under a manager who is willing to play front 2 then Maybe Rhodes would have been option but as lone striker at aged 31 not for me. exactly. This forum did have a meltdown over this.
