  1. Becoming a bit boring now with your constant messages after every post of mine. Try adding something constructive to the argument please or stay out of it.
  2. It’s a £20m turnover business that is running on £20m losses. Turnover is irrelevant. A £10 surcharge for someone unwilling or unable to complete a form online is more than reasonable. I find it quite staggering you don’t in the current era. It has nothing to do with being a community club. It’s about being a digital club. I am sure the club will have invested heavily in the technology to enable this, so now it’s the perfect opportunity to cash in on that investment by incentivising STH’s to renew online for a £10 saving. Great business decision.
  3. The staff that cost a business c£26k because a fan can’t be bothered or learn how to do it themselves? Appeasing my ilk? Do you mean a fan that knows how to place an order on the internet?
  4. Trying to get one familiar face back in. All I can say right now.
  5. A lot of things in this world should be available and unpenalised, but unfortunately it’s not the world we live in. Digital is a more sustainable way for most businesses and the club have found a way to do this and fair play to them. No issues in covering administration costs for someone who can’t click a few buttons on the Internet.
  6. Agree. Massively disappointed in that as it was my “go to” lounge for entertaining and now don’t really fancy going to the BBE to watch the game. Will try the new Clayton Douglas lounge out though and hope the food is enough!
  7. I was in the Shearer lounge last season and must say, it was an excellent experience. We had our own private waiter who was lovely. Drinks all included. In addition, we received a 9 course meal of which every single one was a delight. Excellent view of the pitch from inside too. The interior was very smartly decorated and comfortable for all in there. Would highly recommend and will definitely be going again next season.
  8. That is absolutely fine and some of us would rather do it from the comfort of my own home. If you want the service of face-to-face interaction then pay the price, which in this case is £10. Almost like a delivery option. If you want it next day, pay the higher price, or wait a few days and get it free.
  9. Why is it? We live in a digital era and the fanbase needs to move with it. My father who is now 68, is ordering goods from Amazon and various stores online. The cost of 1 full time employee on minimum wage would be c£26k if you take into account Employers NI. That’s an additional 75 season tickets that need to be sold. If a 3rd of the ST holders buy over the phone, it covers the cost of an employee. It makes business sense. Fans will happily whinge about the £10 surcharge but will happily pay RyanAir and EasyJet for an extra legroom seat when required. We need to get with the times.
  10. The O’Brien fumble was as much Broughton’s fault as Silvester, which is why he took to the press to try and smooth over. He didn’t do that for the Maguire deal until March when he gave an interview. Broughton I believe didn’t follow protocol and it ended up being rookie staff trying to get a player to sign a contract and fill out forms. If you remember, Nixon reported that one of the names was spelt incorrectly on the form. If Broughton follows protocol, that doesn’t happen. Yet people are quick to blame Silvester for that deal. As for Telalovic, there were better options on the table at the time and he couldn’t secure and panicked into Telalovic. Batth deal was never going to happen given his age and no guarantee he would perform and the player wanted a 2 year deal with an option. Rightly so it was declined. We then got McFadzean on a 6 month deal in Jan, which I am sure everyone will agree was a fantastic piece of business. However, the latter deal had nothing to do with Broughton. He had a horrific track record of signings. I guess you all remember that the falling out he had at his last club with management too. This isn’t just at Ewood. Good riddance to him as well.
  11. Utter nonsense. Szmodics, Telalovic, Wahlstead, Siggurdson, Hyam and Brittain all involved money and didn’t botch any of them up. Out with the old, in with the new.
  12. No you can’t. You can be suspended immediately with full pay but a full investigation needs to occur, followed by a disciplinary hearing, followed by an appeal. If Silvester had under 2 years service, then he can be dismissed on the spot. He has more. GB has under 2 years service and he was fired immediately after the season end.
  13. Rudy Gestede will not be DoF.
  14. His time at Leicester and Liverpool mean nothing when you can’t hit send…
  15. I have a business and my HR department have never allowed me to for an employee with greater than 2 years service. An investigation must first be sanctioned, then the employee invited to a disciplinary, before being dismissed. The employee then has a right for appeal which then needs to be overseen by another individual. Not as cut and dry as sacking a manager as an earlier poster pointed out. Could take months.
  16. No idea why it is showing like that. I got banned earlier in the season so unless deleted. No idea.
  17. I posted earlier in the season?
  18. I have a day job where we’ve just done an MBO and truth be told, I’ve hardly had a chance to come on here. Also, got banned for apparently being a show off, so that also put me off. Water under the bridge and all that…
  19. So the club secretary did nothing wrong in your opinion? It’s been in the papers long enough to know the geezer didn’t press send. How you turn that into a conspiracy theory is bonkers.
  20. Stay off the drink. So club sec gets the bullet because there was no money to spend?? 😂😂 He made the error and now paid the price by getting binned.
  21. Gregg failed to follow procedure for the O’Brien cock-up. He was so excited and took player to Brockhall instead of Ewood to sign, I believe. Documents weren’t signed correctly as the admin was happening in Ewood but the paperwork completed at Brockhall. Maguire cock-up was all on Silvester. Didn’t hit send. Waggot may have done many things wrong but if your club Sec can’t hit send, then what are you supposed to do?
  22. Won’t be a rookie to the job. Will be experienced. Money is available to spend so that is utter nonsense in the BBC story. Gregg was the one who was pals with JDT BEFORE his appointment and recommended him to the club. The Apple never falls too far from the tree… Chaddy - can’t name names yet but impressed with the shortlist.
  23. Silvester was due to be sacked straight after the transfer cock-up. He is an employee and not on a contract like the manager so cannot be instantly dismissed. Legal matters took place and eventually dismissed in April. Replacement came in and much more qualified and hopefully knows how to hit the send button!
