  1. They had a decent attacking side with Edwards, Marriott and Maddison. However they were leaking goals for fun as well. Assuming Maddison leaves who haven't been involved in preseason they all have left. They have signed something like 15 new players so basicly a new team.
  2. He also loaned Godfrey from Norwich who I like a lot plus Carlton Morris from the same club. Plus Henderson in goal was a loan player as well. A worry for me would be trying to rebuild the whole team in one go. At least we have a base to build from, Ipswich team seems pretty dismantled from previous seasons and also looks like their good left back Knudsen is on his way.
  3. They will need to splash a lot of cash to get all their transfer targets, Kayden Jackson rated 2.5 mill by Accrington, Marcus Maddison 2.5, Jon Noland and Nsiala can't imagine Shrewsbury letting them go too cheap either. We will see. I don't think Maddison is a target for us though and never has been.
  4. John Marquis from Doncaster must be our best options from lower leagues to replace Danny Graham. Suprised he hasn't gotten a Championship move yet. Good size, very mobile and can score with head and both feets. Got 26 goals when they got promoted to League 1, and got 15 last season. Impressed me when we played them.
  5. From a scout report (Sunderland page) Brendan Rodgers: "the type of player you love as a manager" citing him as the "driving force" in the middle for Hibs, whilst lauding his passing ability and ability to get into the box. A very skillful central midfielder, he has great passing ability without losing any tenacity in the tackle - attributes Sunderland have lacked for quite some time.
  6. I'd like to add Caddis too, but then we'll probably pay them an extra million to take him ?
  7. I know the transfer window ends on Thursday, but am I correct in assuming that deals that not done by then can be structured as loans with buy at the end? Which means we can basicly buy players untill the end of the month
  8. Seems we can expect action, Sharpe claims we want AT LEAST 3 in addition to Armstrong.
  9. That makes interesting. At least it's funny to see the Celtic fans riled up like this https://thecelticstar.com/bunch-bs-john-mcginn-three-options-open-hibs/
  10. Felt like defeat didn't it? The starting line-up was as expected given the same 11 beat Everton 3-0, plus Davenport was injured and Palmer not match fit. I feared for Williams against Edwards who impressed for PBoro. Our problem on the left side of defence is the lack of pace. Mulgrew doesn't have the pace to cover properly for Williams. Another issue with Williams for me is that far too often drifts in as a third centre back, leaving the right winger with too much space. His positioning for the first goal was wrong as people have mentioned. Did well for the second goal though, picking out Dack there is not as easy as it seems, needs to get the angle and power correct. We didn't create much, but was very effective and Palmer should've buried the game. Still we looked solid only to be undone by a fluke goal. Ipswich overloaded the midfield and it was hard for us to play through the middle and get Dack involved. Needed to utilise the wings and I think Armstrong would've been perfect to threathen the channels. Samuel was back at his worst after a couple of good preseason games. Hurst is trying to build a League One all-star team which seems like smart idea. Edwards is an excellent signing and Harrison is an handful although I don't think he has a lot of goals in him. They looked however very much as a work in progress and we were far better organized. I would've taken the a point before the game. We will not be at full force before getting our signings done, match fit and bedded in. So probably looking at september before you see the Championship version of Rovers. If we can pick up points in the meantime things are looking ok.
  11. Well that is a strange link. Suddenly we are linked to the second coming of Jesus (according to Hibs fans) and valued at 4 million. Big contrast from being linked to League 2 players at least. Seems totally unrealistic to pull this off, the transfer fee, Celtic being confident of getting him and player wanting to come here. Brighton is also heavily linked.
  12. Derby has been truly awful. Barely been in Reading's half and not had a chance. They have no width, no plan and doesn't look like a team. It's fine to have good players on paper, but in the end is about having a team. Reading on the other hand have a plan and great place on the flanks through Barrow and Alukho. They don't look like scoring though. None of Bodvarsson, Barrow and Alukho are known to be clinical. I fancy our chances to compete given this level of football.
  13. Yes, he proved that last season. We basicly played an advanced winger/forward all season.
  14. Not arguing that. Still need a couple of quality additions to the squad.
  15. I agree. A younger Graham, a winger, a defender would do. In that order. Not that bothered by bringing in another keeper this window. I think you'll find that most of the squad has indeed Championship experience. It's basicly just Dack, Rothwell and the young ones like Travis who haven't played there before. They might have been relegated but at least they have experienced the level.
  16. If Preston had an interest it might explain if the deal was rushed forward.
  17. Genuine pace which we lacks. I really hope it's permanent and I think it is.
  18. Think he's a midfielder, not sure if he fits the profile.
  19. Thinks so. I reckon one of the forwards needs to be able to hold up the ball to challenge Graham.
  20. Well Wickham played his first match after 600 days out injured on Saturday so maybe it wasn't so far fetched
  21. Nope, too many on Twitter like https://twitter.com/McConnellJamie that tries to impersonate ITK.
  22. Seems to be based of this tweet, which doesn't contain any more context
  23. Re: Gallagher A redeeming fact about the MK Dons loan, was that he just had lost his father who he was close to and was mentally wasn't there. At Birmingham he was often deployed on the right wing, and was probably their best player after Christmas according to my Brum friend.
