I reckon Armstrong and Chapman would probably be around 3 millions pounds together if you can agree wages. Very few clubs in the Championship buys players over a million pounds these days except PL parachute clubs and even a club like Villa is in dire straits financial now.

Kent seems to fit the bill. Quick tricky winger that can deliver a cross. Also seems to be able to play both right and left. The question mark is last season with two failed loans at Freiburg and Bristol City. The good thing is Mowbray know everything about him from having him on loan at Coventry, and can get his confidence back up again. It worked wonders with Armstrong last season. Fun fact is that Kent and Armstrong has spent two seasons together on loan at both Coventry and Barnsley. He also had James Maddision at Coventry at the same time so that must've been some exciting line up. I think Rovers will have a hard time getting a deal done for Armstrong based on the fee and wages. I think people forget about Modeste. Did very well after us. I remember I thought he had something about him, good movement, pace and strength. But his confidence was awful and his finishing likewise.

Thanks! Sounds like a Mowbray player. Young, mobile, athletic, unfullfilled promis with potential to play become a Championship player. Not very different from Dack last year. Also different from what we have in midfield with the ability to travel with the ball. If he turned down a contract at Man Utd to carve out a career at Oxford, he seems to have character. Certainly worth a punt.

I for one thought Gallagher was great. Useful in the air, great pace and all attributes needed for a striker. 11 league goals in a relegation team not bad. Him and Armstrong could be deadly. However I don't think we can afford either. The going rate for promising strikers is too high for us. We need to hold on to Graham for one more season. Can't count on Samuel or Nuttall to deliver in the Championship which leaves us very thin upfront.

Am I only one who would be underwhelmed by Pilkington? Seems like a sideways steps and I can't see him bring much more than Conway. Will be 30 shortly and we need wingers with pace desperatly.

King has always been highly rated here in Norway as having the potential to become a top player. Injuries and probably appetite and attitude has partly hindered his progress. Think he was close to sign a new contract here when he went to Bmouth (it was even reported here in Norway that he had), but I think his performances in the FA cup turned Bmouth onto him. Had he stayed he would probably be given a fair chance at his preferred position as striker and story might be have been different. Eddie Howe worked wonders with him and he has matured greatly as player also in the national team. He can be unplayable at times but it look like his attitude is back again to haunt him. Don't care much for going public against a great manager like Howe who really has ressurected his career. Mowbray would do well to track down a similar young player with raw potential and turn him into a gem.

Would be too expensive given they will only sell him for an acceptable offer. He is contracted to 2020 and PBoro always knows to get paid. For a backup player to Dack should probably look at less expensive options.

My thoughts - Armstrong Push the boat out on Armstrong. Gives a dimension we don't have - Chapman would be nice - Antonssen, thanks for the effort but would not enhance us in Championship - Payne, unsure, talented, but fear he is to weak defensively and don't bring enough goals. - Graham, should have a season left in him, would be hard to replace leading the line and know how. - Smallwood, cannot understand why someone would get rid. Very important squad player in the Championship at least. - Evans, not sure. Has raised his game the last couple of months and can do a job in the Championship. Out - Have a lot of time for Conway, but I feel some younger legs will benefit us more. - Gladwin, Caddis, Ward, Feeney obviously IN - We need wingers as somebody mentioned. Hopefully someone with both flair and work-rate - Jon Nolan an obvious target for centre midfield. - Fosu of Charlton looks decent. Lyle Taylor another one who could be worth a punt. Taylor has both pace, power and decent feet.

Seems accurate. Quite similar to Evans in playing style. Looked capable at this level and I would to see more of him.

Antonsson is an enigma for sure. For all his shortcomings, it looks like he has found a sweet spot on the left side. I think it's a bit like Roy Keane's reflection on Jordan Rhodes career at Ipswich, they were too focused on what he couldn't do, rather than focus on what he could. Marcus covers the most distance in the whole team (According to TM and the analysis). His positioning is excellent and has an uncanny timing arriving in the box, which means he gets several chances every game. He has decent pace at this level and can finish with both feet and the odd header.

You also have to get credit to Samuel for turn and excellent pass to release Antonsson. That is NOT an easy pass to get right. Inch perfect angle and weight.

For me Mowbray is an upgrade on Coyle. At least the club acted swiftly getting a new man in.

Being one of the ones crying for Benni and Gamst, it was from the start, not half way into second half. You're probably right in that the substitutions didn't matter, but we had lost the flow when they came on anyway. Dunn was knackered and should've been subbed first of all, as he gave the ball away a lot and not able to track back. He played well for the first 50 min though, but we lost the shape when he went into the middle. Benny never had any chance to influence the game with coming on less than 20 min left, replacing Derbyshire who'd given a good Benny display by running into offsides all night and missing with his only chance. I thin AESF raises valid points, and he does not say our season is a disaster. Hughes and his team get a lot of credit and plaudits, and rightly so. There should also be room for pointing out improvments. Yesterday showed the management weakest side which is persisting with the same team and formation that won last match and starting with the same playyers. Firsly this was partly fault in Larissa where they played the same 11 as done all season, even though those players had played 2-3 games a week. By Hughes' own admission they should've refreshed things. The worst part was that same team started only 3 days later against P'mouth, still jaded and not performing. This led to the change in midweek cup game vs Bham, which paid off with change of formation and personell. Not forgetting Bham had changed the entire 11 from their last league game. Using the formation vs Sundeland was a good idea, it made sense because we were playing away vs Sundeland and there would be spaces for Bentley, Dunn to be creative and Derbyshire to run into. However, by also treating Larissa the same way when it was obvious that they would be defensive and compact before the game (Donis even said so), was plain wrong. 4-5-1 failed on all accounts, most of all on getting width to get crosses in. Derbyshire and Dunn moved into the centre and gave no option on the flanks. Bentley had as expected against a compact team, no space to play in. It took to half time for the management to change the formation. Pedersen and McCarthy should have started to be a given a chance to show their reaction being left out last game, which was a good move by Hughes, but he forgot to milk it. Derbyshire does not function in that role, which he proved in Plymouth as well. I see I come very negative now, but it's mostly because of last evening.
