  1. Elliot looking sensational every time he's on the ball, Ayala looking shaky, Armstrong selfish
  2. Too wasteful in attack, and too open at the back... It's enough to cause a heart attack
  3. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak for me
  4. I've never played at a high level, but my step brother was the best in the area and a youth player for Hartlepool, though didn't make the cut/got bored of playing and didn't play again for years after. However, no word of a lie, he used to play upfront with none other than Arma (for a team called Newcastle City Juniors) for a few years. You could already see then he was something special as he was playing in the first team of the best club in the area despite being a year younger than everyone else (this was when they were about 9 or 10). Proper weird seeing someone you used to watch on a cold Sunday turn out for Rovers now (quite aware this sounds like total bs, but it's absolutely true haha)
  5. Great result. We need to use the impetus to move up the table though, if we're still languishing around mid table come January we won't be viewed as a competitive prospect and we'll lose the likes of Arma
  6. Why does Tony persist on playing Gally out wide, why not let him get on the end of some of those Douglas/Holtby chances and put Armstrong out wide
  7. Pulled Apart By Horses - Yeah Buddy (really scraping the barrel now!)
  8. Yeah I loved the first mixtape, especially High For This and Wicked Games, still yet to appreciate the second in depth. I've been listening to a lot of stuff on Warp Records recently Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin and more recently Rustie but at the moment I'd have to say I'm really enjoying Battles and Maximo Park on that label, especially the former even though the latter are a local band for me, Kuedo, Burial and Netsky are also pretty high on the playlist at the moment, also. Been exploring a lot of Jesus & Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine as well, having been too young to experience these bands at the time, but going to see what you could say is their modern counterpart in The Horrors, on tuesday. Have to say, Skying is probably my album of the year so far, so many tunes. That or Wild Beasts 'Smother' or the Neon Indian one, I can't recommend those enough, really nice textures and well written. The Metronomy and Anna Calvi albums aren't far behind either, but I can't really fathom the acclaim given to PJ Harvey's new album, it's a nice concept, but it just sounds dull and uninspired. What does everyone make of the Radiohead album?
  9. Saw Muse and the Chemical Brothers plus a few others in Krakow recently. Both were incredible for differerring reasons. Also bought Massive Attack 'Mezzanine' from 1997 yesterday in a local record store (I live in Newcastle) for £2.99 it was £13 in HMV well pleased!
  10. I havn't been and don't intend to this year (although I did consider it) but you're right about the festival fans thing, anyone else think that euro-festivals (save Glasto) are far better than our domestic ones? I went to Open'er fest in Poland last year and was just about the best thing i've ever done, i'm headed to Poland again this year but to Krakow to go to Coke Live fest where Muse and Chemical Brothers are playing, can't wait as these are the only two I really want to see and the only place to see them both, you off to Rock Werchter then American?
  11. Crystal Castles are awesome have seen them twice If you guys wouldn't mind checking out my bands new songs (If anyone has a problem with electronic music don't click) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrqLtaS-EJI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKx_DOi5kqs
  12. Acts to get excited about this year in contemporary music Subscape Ellie Goudling Janelle Monae Marina and the Diamonds Rollz Viva City Alex Metric Delphic Everything Everything Theophilius London Invasion
  13. Just got Delphic's album, very good definetley the best album I've er, heard this year (and maybe last year as well)
  14. Late Of The Pier announce new single 'Blueberry' sounds like The Beatles meets The Big Pink (that's my opinion anyway) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSzpp4tLZMU
  15. Cheers was a good night out 'Helicopter' and 'Better Than Heaven' were the best songs
  16. Massive plug I know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8Puxq0L9FE for anyone into dubstep or electro house Also going to see Bloc Party in Sheffield tommorrow night can't wait:rover:
  17. Yes really really good I especially love 'Hari Kari' and 'City of Bugs' as well as 'Cheat On Me'. Going to see Bloc Party in Sheffield next month can't wait
  18. You have to admit though some of the songs are essentially made by the rawness of liam's voice and his swagger, 'Supersonic' and 'Morning Glory' for example. I think keeping an eye out for the Big Pink might be a good idea even if they did slag off the Beatles recently Ian Browns new 'un is the dog's balearics in my opinon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wsct546pCBE
  19. hey I posted that more than a month ago new single not half bad either Loving the progressiveness of the new 'monkeys' song as well
  20. Undoubtedley one of the game of football's greats. Rest in Peace sir Bobby Robson
