So i guess we have three scenarios

1 Holy Crap scenario. Sell Wharton to Spurs or Palace for 15 million and actually get the money in time and get a decent amount to spend. Likelihood 10%
2 Now what do we do scenario.  sell our experienced striker to Birmingham for 2 million and dither about which donkey we can persuade to join us Likelihood 30%

3 Oh Well part 3 scenario. Nobody gets sold and we wait in hope until transfer forum page 666 on deadline minute plus five to pray the fax works to sign a rookie striker with plenty of promise from a Division 2 side. Likelihood 60%

Blimey Scenario 1 could be on the money

15 million quid. Thank you very much.

My concern is giving a percentage of that money to the egg. Too much for a novice to play with.

Love Wharton but a luxury in our current predicament. We need at least one striker and a midfielder to replace Wharton. some of the 15 million will help.

  3. “Since the start of December Rovers have lost more games(seven),won fewer points(four),and conceded more goals(twenty-four) than any other Championship side.”

Time to change the trajectory. Put Pears back in between the sticks to give the defence confidence,  and slot the Villa lad in. It took JDT too long to blood Hill.

If he persists with Leo then he will be no better than Mowbray in terms of stubbornness.

For the ever optimists, here is some comments from Killie and Villa fans ref Chrisene.  Surprised he's a centre mid in their view

Blackburn Rovers fans having a meltdown over this signing, in a negative way, as seem to think they're signing too many youngsters, that might be case, but judging from some of the comments I think they might be surprised at how good he is, they should also note he's probably just as good if not better in central midfield and can also play on the wing. A lot will depend on how his injuries have affected him, but if he's as good as he was then he should be okay in the Championship, was rated in the same class as our very best academy players at one point, and that still might be the case, again will come down to how much his injuries have affected him.

Centre mid is where i think he is best. Could have been a Gareth Barry mk 2 but has suffered from so many injuries since the FA Youth Cup win. Good luck to him and i hope he can get a run of games.

Chrisene getting a loan to the Championship shouldn't be a shock, he's already proven himself at Scottish Premier League level, if it wasn't for injuries it would have already happened before now, he's one of our more highly rated academy players of recent times

should be physically well able for it

If you are good enough you are old enough. We just have a few who aren’t good enough. Whatever the age.

Getting into the hat for the next round is the only thing that matters in the cup.  It was an entertaining game, particularly in the second-half.  However, on the downside, it was disappointing to see how easy our defence was ripped open  in the first half.  We simply can't keep giving away these easy goals.  This is something JDT has to sort out sooner rather than later.  Don't mind if it's a change of personnel or system, but something needs to change to make us more solid at the back.

Pleased that Leonard scored as it will boost his confidence.  The lad does get into good positions in the box and hopefully will start to convert a higher percentage of the chances he gets.

Once again, today showed just how much we rely on Szmodics.  I can't believe that there aren't clubs looking at him in this window.

I think if Ipswich offered silly money it would seal their promotion spot.

Travis could have had more impact as a sub/ tactical change in recent weeks. Rovers need to pull some decent signings out now, not kids... continue with this kind of business and we might be heading down.

    Lest we forget

He made the second-most number of tackles in the Championship last season

JDT on the captain's armband: "Dom Hyam will take over as captain and Sam Szmodics as vice-captain. Two lads who have been playing at a high level and always put the team first."

Too much to read into this that Trav wasn't putting the team first anymore? Either way I don't think many would have put him in the team ahead of Wharton and Tronstad. Yes you need depth and back up, but Trav clearly didn't want to bide his time.

Shame JDT didn’t make Hyam captain in the first place. Would have let Trav focus on  his game and feel less of a burden on his shoulders

Keeping fringe players happy is a key part of a manager’s/head coach’s job.

i still feel that Travis has been laid out to dry. He has gone from captain to also ran at a key moment in his career. He is fiery and volatile and gets stuck in. He gets booked and winds people up.

We need that at the moment. Fire in the belly, taking people on, fanning the flames. The biggest mistake was making him captain and giving him extra responsibility rather than let him concentrate on his game. JDT did that.

One other thing. He is Bkackburn through and through.

That is fate well and truly tempted now then.

Let’s hope we don’t toss them a get out of jail card like we did Sheffield Wednesday. Their manager will be reminding them of that.

Hecwill also remind them we play out from the back in a decidedly wobbly manner.

A bit like the Bournemouth goalie today.

  10. The risk of passing out from the back has just been exemplified by the Forest goalie 1-0 up and they gift United an unserved equalizer. The game momentum is changed.

I get the possession thing but there is much to be said for getting it out of the danger area and hoping to win a 50/50.

Stop press Gibbs White scores for Forest. My point still stands

  11. Watched the Ipswich v Leicesrer game. Some sublime football played.

Leicester are Premier League, and Ipswich have owners with a vision, a good CEO who recruited a future Premier League manager.  They have bought three or 4 players for a round a million each.  The manager has got a tune out of all them quickly, including Hirst.

However frustrated we are with JDT, he has up until recently had us punching above our weight. If we get no incoming players in this window, then we will be lower mid table obscurity. Significant signings will only happen if we sell Wharton. Either way, I think JDT will be off to a club that matches his ambitions.

As for Hull, hoping for 1-1

  12. Reading the responses from Sunderland fans they loved him. Owners didn’t  invest , so he brought the youngsters on. Still a few points off the play offs. Took them to the playoffs with nothing last year.
    This comment says it all.

"As custodians of our great club, we believe in our long-term strategy that we hope will ensure sustainability and success for SAFC.

"Central to that approach is a relentless demand for a high performance culture to be implemented throughout the club and the development of a strong playing identity that you, our loyal supporters, can all be proud of."

That from a 25 year old playing FIFA with Daddy’s money. Straight out of the consultants book of corporate bollocks

Heckingbotty wont fare any better if he goes there.
