I've not a clue what to expect. I could just as easily see us put in a swashbuckling first half performance and be 3-0 up at the break. We'd all be sitting there scratching our heads and wondering what could have been.

One thing I'm sure of though, is come the final whistle, we won't be in the playoffs.

I went on a journey in my head when you mentioned swashbuckling, and landed on this epic swashbuckler. Those were the days my friend ………

Arguably the most exciting player at the club, if you don’t like watching TYRHYS, you don’t have a pulse.

I don’t like him hanging onto the ball and giving it away.

What struck  me over the weekend watching the big boys play is how they beat a man to find a man.

If Dolan could beat a man to lay off a defence breaking pass to a target man then he would be something special.
Oh we don’t have a target man. Well if we did. 😉

  3. Don’t like being over dramatic but all I can hear in my ears the commentator saying “lacking the final pass.”  Referring to Dolan. On this performance that should be his Twitter handle. Thomas was not much better. Glad they switched at half time. If Dack was on the bench why not drop him in for the last ten minutes. He draws players and can produce a moment of magic.

The three biggest games of the season (Sheff Utd, Cov, Preston), all fucked by bringing on Wharton and Brittain at a goal up. There's one thing having no striker, but JDT takes 100% of the blame.

Tbh I wouldn't shed a tear if he wasn't here in the summer.

Trying to close the game out by changing the momentum is the gift that keeps on giving to the opposition. Smods was chasing everything and we put on two cold defenders. Only one way that is going.

Cruel for Dom,  as he will have that on his shoulders for a while,  when he has been a stand out this year.

Hedges should have finished it off a minute earlier. That’s why this game is so tough on the fans.

  5. “We were losing quality in finishing, taking too many touches instead of shooting on goal, and decision-making in the last third. “.              JDT

To be honest, we have players who can give their all and run with the ball at the opposition. We saw it against Huddersfield. It is the mindset that is needed against Coventry.

I thought JDT was coaching this passing in triangles. If he is saying too many touches, then that is down to the players to pick the ball up and run at the opposition and pass forward to an unmarked team mate.

When I see a ball going backwards at home I see a player who does not want to be accountable.

  6. Passing back in injury time does my head in. Where is the running forward into positions to receive a ball. Where is the running at the man. We are afraid in front of goal. We pass to each other to avoid the accountability.

All that being said, miraculously if the line in the sand was drawn tonight, we would be in the playoffs.

If we can beat Coventry there would be daylight between us.

  7. I would have taken this result at the  beginning of the day. I would certainly have taken this result at half time. Warnock hates us for leaving him at the altar.

Shame Leonard didn’t poke it a bit harder, it would have been a dream start. He didn’t look out of place.

if we can start next game the same way that we played in the second half, with confidence and smooth flowing football then Bob’s yer uncle.
