The big issue is that the law is patently poorly written, and by leaving it to a committee, you are leaving it open to a subjective judgment. Two things need to happen in the future. A much more detailed law about abandoned games needs to be written in terms of score, reason, timing, and indeed quality of the pitch. Secondly, we need to fix our pitch. -
I have been reflecting on this over a perfect Guinness pour in a Young's pub. I think we had a sell by date on the team. By making the moves we did, we took a risk but I feel good about the replacements. It is the manager's team and model and so we shall see how we progress. I am optimistic. There was a negative drag from some of rhe established players and that has been swept away. Culturally I rhink this is less of a cozy environment but maybe we needed a change on the field and off it. Change is always with us. Players and managers are ambitious. What are your thoughts?

The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.

Playing devil's advocate here. Toth plays a double header in Hungary and gets injured. We are shipping out our first choice keeper who had a solid spell in between his calamities. We are left with a rookie in goal who did not cover himself in glory in his recent first team outing. Is Pears really a third choice? Mowbray thought Raya was suspect. We all thought Walton was suspect and he had a decent career away from us. Pears is howler prone but he has also been a match saver. I think we are leaving ourselves dangerously thin on the ground if Toth gets injured. -

600 up. I think a wicket is about to fall but at the moment the bails are just teetering precariously. -
You stick your right leg in, your right leg out, trip a Brum defender and you shake it all about.

Bottom line we had that game before Miller stuck a needless foot out with cover behind him. Too many changes too late disrupted the flow. I just hate losing to the big rich club -

Cantwell is more engaged. Hopefully it is the arm band. Ohashi is doing well but we need a big ugly target man. -

It's all relative i guess. It isn't great and the culture has changed dramatically. But we could have our stand closed and our players not paid for months, so our key players tear our contracts up and go to Wrexham et al on a free leaving our time full of academy players under 21 who play in the Northern Counties league. -

Another new member of Sgt Eustace Lonely Rovers Club Band. Let's see if he can play his Tuba as well there. He certainly got caught out at Ipswich.
