  1. Way too much ink on this one. Always feels he is better than us. Let him try. In fairness he is probably being talked up by his advisors. His best home is Derby where Eustace can put an arm around him and he will feel at home. Just needs to remember to change his shirt.
  2. There is only one constant. Change. A new manager brings a new way of playing and a new style of player to fit the model. Gestede is a change in personnel and a change in contacts and approach. The strategy for keeping players until they are worth nothing has changed. Rothwell, Brereton and Dolan are unlikely to be repeated so anyone not signing contracts a year out will be off. The Indian Government is clamping down on foreign investments so a change in investment approach is required. If we make more good decisions than bad ones, we are winning. Brittain was solid but a sick note for a good part of the season. Dolan was constantly criticized for chasing up his own arse much of the time. I am happy to give the new signings a chance It is what it is. Let's trust the process If it goes tits up then we know what will happen.
  3. 200 up before the new balls up is introduced. Wicket certainly taking spin from the club PR team.
  4. Not surprising with Tavares. "It only takes a minute ...🎶
  5. Why don't we just give Derby last year's Rovers shirts and then they will feel even more at home.
  6. Let's be honest, Dolan had a great finish to the season but I can't think of another player that I scream more at the telly about. He has been so frustrating in possession and with the final ball. Eustace had a chance to coach that out of him without great success. Dolan needs someone to put an arm on his shoulder. Eustace will do that. But he is building a team of old players and favorites. Not a long term strategy but good enough to keep him in a job for the moment.
  7. I console myself that i don't support Sheffield Wednesday. That is a storied club about to disappear before our very eyes.
  8. I think the supercomputer is "sending a message to you Rudi" It must have hacked your transfer spreadsheet. https://www.givemesport.com/supercomputer-predicts-final-championship-table-soccer-football/?link_source=ta_first_comment&taid=685d597a5473740001fea197&fbclid=IwQ0xDSwLLwBlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHivluP3IDEBljG2vOb3cAd6dfNBcmYmQD85f00Pi8D1hxmZPa-FxFZvYs-lS_aem_pCZC8X55xvi7DCDKBjLTgw
  9. Another underrated visionary like Raya plucked from under our noses by Brentford. 🤔 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c3w48p7n014o
  10. What is fascinating about Welcome to Wrexham is how they have rebuilt the club into a multi million dollar global brand. The first duscussion the new CEO had with the owners in last season's series is 1) Do you want to consolidate and stay in League one cost c 10 million quid 2) Do you want to get bak to back to back promotions. High risk high reward. Cost c 50 million quid. They chose the second. They have probably had that discussion already for this season. And the answer is probably the same. Our answer is #1 and there is probably no discussion. Waggott probably tried one at the end of rhe season and it was the end for him.
  11. The Summer transfer thread on the other hand 😉
  12. Bit of a slow start to reach the 100 on the board. Reminds me of watching Boycott at the crease in a five day test at Trent Bridge. Solid but unspectacular.
  13. It's going to get complicated now that Waggott has been potted. Looks like a slimmed down executive team.
  14. Steve Waggott is out with just a cursory thanks for the work done. The King is dead long live the king, whoever he may be Maybe a palace coup or perhaps he said the wrong thing on a Venkys Zoom call. Like, Valerian would like to increase the transfer budget.
  15. So sad not to see him in the celebrations. So proud of him. One of a kind talent.
  16. Can't handle this pressure and I can't see a thing as i am back in blighty.
  17. A different and refreshing perspective. "Eze's impact earned him the man-of-the-match award, but he will surely have faced strong competition from the brilliant Wharton, who strode through midfield in style, a potent mixture of composure, creation and that priceless ability to win possession then use it well. Former England captain Wayne Rooney is a firm admirer, telling BBC Sport: "Attacking players get a lot of the credit, but Adam Wharton was outstanding. His commitment and winning the ball back - I thought he was the best player on the pitch." This follows rich praise delivered by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, who described him as "an excellent holding midfielder".
  18. One set of games to go and Shakespeare couldn't have conjured a more complex plot. It is quite mind blowing the range of emotions over the last few months. Depths of despair, to Rooneyesque disbelief, to blind hope. I will take blind hope. The turning point was second half against Wednesday and talking about them, my mate was handed this at Hillsborough today. At least we have some form of football structure.
  19. The two championship clubs promoted are American owned. The two likely clubs promoted from Division 1 are American owned. Ipswich who went from Division 1 to the premiership and back down are American owned. The new style of American ownership is not the dinosaur Glazer/Boehly style of financial manipulation. It is a more passionate long term approach which is demanding but exciting. We need a slice of that. Our heritage is very marketable in the right hands.
  20. Bottom line. We need a new CEO to court potential American owners.
  21. Same for Sheffield United and West Brom. Never good to rely on relegation threatened teams. They tend to wake up at this time of rhe season.
  22. Played himself perfectly into Eustace's rebuild.
  23. Played himself perfectly into Eustace's rebuild.
