  1. What do you mean Bomber was terrible? They all sound the same anyway! Oh well, I thought they were better this year than last. I'm not having that Glasgow door way thing - there's no way he can just sneak off like that.
  2. The Charlatans at Crewe tomorrow. Should be great. The smaller the venue and all that... Whilst we're on about bands that no one likes anymore (or ever did) we (the breadknife and I) took in Motorhead, The Damned and Girlschool at the Manc Apollo 4 weeks ago. Absolutely top notch.
  3. Benni on his own fitness
  4. You've done me there. I don't know why he doesn't play the unfit, immobile, shadow of his former self every week. Still, he has a chance to play in the World Cup now so maybe he'll sort himself out. Which will be good of him.
  5. Have I missed something here? Has Benni not been over weight for the past season or so? Didn't he admit as much, that he "took his eye of the ball" etc So what do we have now then. We lose at Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal and the end of the world is nigh. Let's bring back Benni who in recent times has ahown as much enthusiasm for the game as a heavily pregnant sloth. So kind of him to state that he now wants to move on after being unfit for so long and how coincidental that this new wave of enthusiasm for the game comes as the South Africa boss is sacked. Someone's taking the proverbial.
  6. He can't still be hungry surely?
  7. One of the most orignal, brilliant and yet quite daft bands that I have known have reformed. Faith No More. Well, I care a lot anyway. They are headlining one of the nights at this years Download.
  8. Surely you should be at the Manchester Apollo tomorrow night Tris? GIMME SOME MOTORHEAD!!!
  9. Maybe they'll add a second date on the 22nd at Manchester? It's a free date at the moment before Brum on the 23rd.
  10. See you there ackroyd. Tis a belter!
  11. "My problems at the club started when Paul Ince walked in." Yes, that's right Benni. Benni's problems actually began when Paul Ince kept ringing him in the summer of 2007. Ince does a mean Jose Mourinho impression and kept hinting of a possible move to Chelsea. This messed with poor Benni's head. So much that his form was erratic at best last season (and that's being kind). Benni was still fooled by Ince come the end of last season when he admitted that his head had been turned by "Joses" advances and it affected his form. Then the kicker, pre-season training. Most of the squad did some running about and what have you in order to get fit. What does Ince do? Sit's Benni in a room with nothing for company bar pies and cakes. He forces Benni to eat them and gets Ray Mathias to egg him on by clapping his hands and shouting "Go on big lad!!" every 2 minutes. Ince out.
  12. Well if it's anything like this little rascal The Day That Never Comes I for one will be delighted. And that boys and girls is all that matters!! Until then Motorhead's latest gem should be with me on Monday. "Rock out - with your cock out". Good work Lem.
  13. Motorhead and Metallica also have new albums out in September. Marvellous!
  14. That hasn't done Frank Skinner any harm though has it?
  15. You'd think they'd be something on the internet in this day and age.
  16. "...John Lowey and Windy Miller" - Windy Miller, Windy Miller la la la la la la!! etc What a great photo. Of course the likes of Jim Mk II and theno will be keen to point out that these guys were second rate players, only at Ewood because they weren't good enough for Division 1. Well screw them (theno is that big a fan of BRFC he'd shut the club down to form another at a drop of a hat.) These guys are legends each and every one of 'em. If it wasn't for them we may well have spent most of the 80's in the 3rd or 4th division. And people on here think we're skint now!
  17. I don't know him but that was Neil Arthur. As for Warhurst - still injured probably.
  18. Good grief. What are you on about now? Do you think Downes decides who gets taken as a Pro?!? Downes goes out and picks the best he possibly can from throughout the whole of Europe and occasionally as far as Great Harwood. If those guys don't get picked after a couple of years, to go into the first team squad then they get released, it's not his fault. It's the First Team Manager who makes that decision. If they go on to hit the heights later in their career at the likes of FC Oula and AZ Alkmaar rather than Everton or Arsenal then it's hardly Downes' fault is it? (SORRY! Off topic.)
  19. I genuinely find it incredible how much they dislike us. It's very flattering really isn't it? It's been commented on here recently, do they not have a full blown derby game anymore? Traditionally it was Bury wasn't it and they did used to sing "We Only Hate Man United". It would appear from that article that it's us that they save most of their venom for (either that or they've got too much time on their hands, then again it is the same jokes they were peddling 12 months ago so you'd hope it wouldn't take too long to put together). It's a shame for them that we, generally speaking, don't give a toss about them.
  20. A proper Rovers man. I'd be far more confident with things if he was on the Board these days. Keep it coming Ozz - great stuff this. (There you go - there's at least two of us reading this!!)
  21. Quality! Saw that earlier this week. That gardener has no chance! Cheers A.S.
  22. or ? Mikkey Dee for me - he made the effort to drum in colour after all. Seriously - who knows?
  23. Saw them on Saturday night in Lincoln. They were very very good. Disagree with you on the new stuff though Tris, best they've done for years - IMO of course!
  24. Just so you know, the new Charlatans album is available to download as of Monday Cockmeister. Here: http://www.xfm.co.uk/. The single Oh Vanity is also on there - You can hear it now it's just three of clicks of your mouse away. Presty - I have never heard of any of that lot on that poster thing. I'd just like to take this opportunity to officially declare myself "old" and out of touch.
  25. OK - Old bands new stuff. Anyone heard the new Charlatans stuff? Very good it is too. Take a look on YouTube (Oh Vanity) or just go on their website (last two singles are downloadable from XFM - as is the new album in March). The fact that this time round they sound like New Order is undoubtedly a good thing. After all we'll not be hearing from New Order again it would appear after the boy Hook has thrown his lot in. Talking of the legendary New Order can anyone confirm that once upon a time on the front of the NME the question was posed (something along the lines of) "Why do Blackburn Rovers hooligans have such an affiliation with New Order?" Anyone remember that?
