  1. Sources: Blackburn Rovers in advanced talks to sign Siriki Dembele Blackburn Rovers are in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth attacker Siriki Dembele, sources have told Football Insider. The winger was a target for Turkish giants Besiktas, but Blackburn are now well placed to lure him to Ewood Park. https://www.footballinsider247.com/blackburn-rovers-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-siriki-dembele/
  2. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/premier-league-bristol-city-targets-7418321 Maybe someone here. The number one target should be Mathias Normann. Was almost 100% ready for Lecce in Serie A on loan from Rostov, but Lecce decided to cancel the deal. He is tough as nails, comes with PL experience and pop ups with the occasional goal. Would be a perfect signing on loan with option to buy.
  3. This is true. We are a bit lightweight in the CM area. On the flip side we don't want people in which dampens the development of Wharton and Buckley. Here's how the Rovers squad is shaping up so far... GK: Thomas Kaminski, Aynsley Pears, Joe Hilton RB: Callum Brittain, Joe Rankin-Costello CB: Daniel Ayala, Scott Wharton, Dom Hyam, Hayden Carter, Ash Phillips, Sam Barnes* LB: Harry Pickering, Tayo Edun CM: Lewis Travis, John Buckley, Tyler Morton, Adam Wharton, Jake Garrett Forwards: Ben Brereton, Sam Gallagher, Bradley Dack, Sam Szmodics, Ryan Hedges, Tyrhys Dolan, George Hirst, Jack Vale, Dilan Markanday *expected to miss much of the season with an ACL injury
  4. It has been stated several times that Left Back is not a position they are looking to upgrade as we spent money on bought Pickering and Edun January 2021.
  5. Styles has played at left wing-back, but more recently in midfield, an area of the pitch which Rovers feel they are well stocked. Probably RB/CB or attacker coming in then,.
  6. Apologies if its been mentioned, but apparently Everton hade had an initial offer of 17.5m accepted by Rovers. They are now waiting to see if they will make a formal offer. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/jon-dahl-tomasson-makes-admission-about-ben-brereton-diazs-future-at-blackburn-rovers-amid-everton-interest/
  7. Hayden Carter: Portsmouth fans loved him at Fratton Park, what adhered him to the fan base so quickly? His quality and how quickly he adapted to Danny Cowley's playing style. Due to injuries, suspension and inconsistency, Pompey chopped and changed systems a fair bit and when they used a back three, which became the norm more so in the second half of the season, someone to play on the right of the three centre-backs was needed. Carter filled that role very comfortably, having thrived in a similar role at Burton Albion earlier in the season. He wins tackles and is so technically gifted, both with his passing and his movement. He may be built like a centre-back, but sometimes his movement was more reminiscent of a winger. What are the best parts of his skill set? Versatility was a plus point. As mentioned, he was defensively sound, but on a number of occasions, he played as a right-back in a back four and did well there. Very keen to get forward and overlap and attack like a modern-day defender. He also has a long shot in him, scoring a screamer from long range against Oxford as well as going close on many other occasions. He was also one of Pompey's best crossers last season.
  8. It is said that while Premier League pair Everton and Fulham could yet make moves for the Blackburn Rovers star before the window slams shut, a pre-contract agreement for January isn’t out of the question. The report states Celta Vigo and OGC Nice have already made proposals, while Valencia and Villareal are also interested in a possible pre-contract deal.
  9. The journey? Are you Mowbray in disguise?
  10. At the moment his wage is ZERO, NADA, NIX
  11. The poster said hypotethical question. Are you fun at parties? Every discussion has to be based on 100% facts and realism?
  12. Yes! I love Dack and think he is important on and off field, but Barkley is class. If I was Rovers I Would make a significant bid for Bowler today, leak it in media to stir up the Blackpool camp and make trouble before the game today.
  13. Celta Vigo one of the clubs who apparently have bid for BBD have got a bid accepted on 10m for Norwegian striker Jørgen Strand Larsen. He is expected to undergo a medical today. That May end their BBD pursuit?
  14. Dont know much about this Callum Styles other than that the Barnsley fans Are quite upset How lazy and sloppy looks at the moment. However he wasnt in Barnsleys squad yesterday (scored on saturday) and no one is saying Why he wasnt in the squad. wonder if it’s a Hyam and he will be announced with us or another club later today.
  15. I find it kind of funny that other names being touted as good signings such as Ryan Hardie who has almost exactly the same stats.
  16. My guesses are: BBD to Everton Hirst to us on loan with option to buy (which is a very good deal) Hopefully other names will emerge today or we will be blown out of water by a big signing tomorrow during the Blackpool game.
  17. Very exciting match in many ways. Will we see BBD on the team sheet or is he on a coach to Liverpool? What about Bowler? Is he changing shirt at HT? Will Ham start? Looking forward to the rollercoaster that is Blackburn Rovers ❤️
  18. Ive said it before but I Would like Brendon Williams from Manchester United. Would be a very good signing at LB. Probably quite cheapish. Far down the pecking order at United. can play both fullbacks
  19. I will be fuming if this is plan. Where are our own prospects?
  20. IF Carter can cover LB he can definitely cover RB. I would like to keep Carter. Give us a defense of: Brittain, Carter, Philips, Ayala, Wharton, Pickering, Edun and now Hyam. We really don't ned SVDB.
  21. Agree with both and why I asked how many loans we are allowed. I don't want us using energy, personell and resources to develop one of Liverpools youngsters when we can focus on our own. After seeing Bournemouth getting beat 9-0 I don't know if I want us to get promoted 😉
  22. Which actually made sense. Happy we got Hyam though. He ticks most boxes. Well done by the recruitment team and I think everyone that believes deals are done quickly take a look at United with De Jong, Antony and several other players. It takes time. I think Rovers have been very very very good at keeping things tight. NO ONE knew that we had approached Coventry about Hyam before last week. Brittain came out of nowhere. Same with Smodicz. Now it will be extremely interesting to see if BBD goes and who we actually have lined up.
