  1. It's funny isn't it. 'Stable' can sound a bit vanilla but in terms of cancer it can be so much more than that. Me staying stable through my last chemo cycles has enabled the liver team to agree to surgery to try to remove the lesions which are there. Thank God for being stable and fingers crossed you stay that way for the long -term @DeeCee
  2. You're right, positivity can take you a long way. I've actually met some fantastic people while I've been on this journey, many of them dealing with much more than me. Unfortunately, we've just lost our 13 year old Labrador so I 100% get the joy dogs bring to everyday life Hoping to get another dog at some point but it's still a bit too raw at the moment. Sounds like you're smashing it - hope things continue to go well for you.
  3. Thanks @arbitro, appreciate that.
  4. Hi @DeeCee. I've been following this thread and wondered how you're getting on. I'm in the same club as you unfortunately, and will be having liver surgery in August to hopefully remove my cancerous lesions. I can see you're still active on the forum which is great news. I do hope your treatment is continuing to go well and life is as good as it can be...
  5. Come on Chaddy, that's not a 5 that will get you into the play-offs. We saw what happened last year when Travis and Tronstad were injured.
  6. Disagree. We might have 5 centre midfielders but the quality once you move past Travis and Tronstad is very questionable. I can live with Forshaw as 5th choice but Buckley needs to be sold. He's not a VI type player - sell him and bring one more in.
  7. Gueye really is a bit of a donkey at times. Ohashi for me, every time.
  8. Gueye isn't noticeably quick. Ohashi also Trumps him on Goals, Composure, Work-rate, Technique, Stamina. I'll give you height, strength and physicality...
  9. Disagree. If we were playing Top Trumps (showing my age), I think my Ohashi card would beat your Gueye....
  10. Eh?? I'm no apologist for VI, he's made a shit start. Howver, I'm not sure humility is very high on the job description for a football manager...
  11. Lots of supposition there. VI has made a shit start but it's not unreasonable to believe he made some impact in the halftime team ralk. It can become easy to say he's shit therefore someone else must have done it when something better happens, fits the natmrrative. Having said all that and to echo what's been said by others. IF he is capable of stoking them up then he needs to get them starting games like that from now on.
  12. I know there are lots of games to choose from but this has been probably the most putrid performance I've seen all season. Absolutely pathetic.
  13. Why are we always the club that offers charity when a club's in free fall?
  14. Pathetic. Abysmal ref. Derby are a horrible team. Hope they go down, they deserve to.
  15. Pleased to see Tronstad and Ohashi back. COYB - let's keep Eustace's shitty start going!!!
  16. I've long come to the conclusion that some on here just like shouting at the sky because well - those clouds are just fucking annoying! I accept we are a basket case but a letter, come on....
  17. No need to apologise. I did wonder if there was a mood altering substance involved though! 🍷🙂
  18. BagManAway. Thanks for taking the time to post. Your comments are well thought out and push back at some of the more negative WBA fan comments. I do get that all clubs have stories to tell about previous managers. Ask us about Miwbray for instance and you'll get plenty, and that's before we even start on the likes of Kean, Coyle and Ince! Anyhow, just wanted to say thank as I found it a really interesting post.
  19. A little bit melodramatic don't you think?
  20. Pre-January, I agree would have been a no-go. Now, we definitely have a much stronger bench. I don't necessarily see them as a 'massive step down either. You could be looking at Carter, Buckley, Ohashi, Dennis, Dolan, Cantwell, Kargbo, Gueye etc. depending on who's in the starting 11 I won't include Hedges as I think that would be over-egging the pudding... 🙂
  21. See, I quite like the 'put it in like it's a 60 minute game and then replenish with fresh legs' approach....
  22. Give over, we heard you already on the closed thread. He wouldn't have been my first choice but nor is he a pitiful appointnent. Many of the names mentioned might potentially fit that description ( Boateng, Boa Morte etc) but I think you're being a bit of a drama queen.
  23. Probably best to get all your facts right before you blow a gasket and your blood pressure. It's no wonder people get so stoked up when they make up the stuff which does the stoking.
  24. He does look like a hard bastard which, for some reason, makes me happy....
  25. Agreed, although given how dysfunctional we are and the self-imposed financial constraints I'd suggest he's about as good as we can expect.
