5 is the absolute minimum number now - providing no more outgoings. Any more out also need replacing - perhaps with the exception of Vale/Leonard. The French lad/Tyjon should be similar replacements and would benefit from first team exposure. We all know the weak spots in the team/squad GK (A scarecrow would be an improvement) LB (a quick one) CM (ball carrier/box to box). LW (quick/direct) RW (as above) Strong argument for a RB as well. Personally, I think we'll get a cheap keeper and another forward. That will be it.

Simple way of working out the outcome. If at 6pm tonight we are suddenly (and mysteriously) linked with 3 or 4 players that are clearly not happening, then we will know Venkys lost. Waggott's favourite way of appeasing the great unwashed.

So just to clarify as of today. 4 days after selling our latest prize asset. Around 40 million brought in over the last 12 months. Spent 1.5 mil spent tops. No FFP issues. Smaller squad than last year's too small squad. Manager asking for players...and our main transfer link is our captain being sold. What's the project again? To cap it off we may be considering paying a substantial fee for a player we had on our books for 4 years but were to stingy to offer a decent contract for the sake of a few hundred quid.
