Which of the players mentioned so far go straight into the first team? That has to be the basis we look at surely. We've banked a fortune. Stansfield and Drommel apart - neither of whom are coming - none of the others names we've heard so far really stand out as being first team shoe-ins.

This. There are always one or two players worth cherry picking from a relegated team. However, clearly the majority of a relegated team's squad isn't good enough for that level. I imagine those worth taking have already been signed by other clubs. The ones we are being linked with aren't screaming 'sign me'.

Mowbray did it when he arrived. Seemed like everyone was ex boro at one stage 😂. Can't think of any that were stand out signings. Smallwood to some extent I suppose.

He is surprisingly slow. He has quick feet and able to turn but no acceleration even over 10 yards which is unusual for what you'd consider a 'nippy winger' build.

This is why there's a strong argument to bring in the other Japanese forward and a winger. To be fair to Gueye, it was probably his dodgiest performance to date.. but the team was more effective with him up there, he got an assist and almost gave Ohashi a tap in from a header!

Pickering is even slower than Dolan/Hedges

Still leaves us minus a Szmodic replacement. Need 2 wide players if we aren't signing another forward. Hedges/Dolan/JRC just aren't quick/consistent enough.

Dolan is bench material at best. Could hook JRC, Dolan and Hedges at HT and none could complain. It's why we need 2 more players out wide.
