  1. Just read the preview (even though I contributed earlier on the thread) and have to say it's fantastic. Nuclearsox, whatever you do for a living, you're wasted in it.
  2. Staying in Caerphilly and getting the train into Cardiff on Friday night for a no holds barred session. Where is everyone doing their drinking? I don't want to walk into the Slaughtered Lamb prior to getting my head kicked in.
  3. No problem with Lucas, Eddie, I don't think he's a bad player and he's not a great player, just average. But as a colleague pointed out to me this morning, when England have Danny Mills as 2nd choice at right back it goes to show how few real quality players there are in that position.
  4. No, but if a player doesn't get what he wants he becomes an unhappy player. Clubs don't keep unhappy players (ie - Barry Ferguson) and the usual outcome is a parting of the ways. A big difference here is that the time left on his contract is short meaning that he would be relatively cheap.
  5. Mark Delaney. No thanks. We'd never get him anyway. Not without offering a highly inflated price, and I have to say I'd rather have Neill. Currently in a contract dispute with Villa and has the almost obligatory Welsh links. I'd be very surprised if we're not interested. That said, I would prefer Cafu
  6. "about 5000" was the reply when I asked someone who would know this morning. Mate went down yesterday afternoon and asked the bloke in the office how many we had sold and how many we hoped to sell. He said they'd already sold 8000 and that we hoped to sell 25,000 at least. Dream on ticket bloke.
  7. Can't believe that. I've spent all week hoping that we get a decent referee for a change and then we end up with Riley the red. Where can I get odds on there being a pen?
  8. And for a bonus point, what row and number of seat does victoria beckham sit in at the bernabeu?
  9. Well that's killed that one then. What about the 4 premiership managers to have played with david beckham.
  10. Here's another one doing the rounds - 'which current Chelsea player has a premiership winner's medal'?
  11. Well said. Hearing the same from more and more Rovers fans lately. I think we're more cheesed off with his constant whinging than the referees are.
  12. Ah, Shrewsbury, memories memories. Remember going there a couple of times. One particular occasion when we stopped off at Whitchurch on the way home and basically took the place over. Happy days, but hey, you can't go back can you? Success, who'd have it.
  13. No, but you might get your head kicked in. Which I suppose is a slightly better option.
  14. Where are you staying Will? Managed to hire a bungalow for 6 people at £35 apiece in Caerphilly for Sat night now had to change it to Friday. Fortunately there was no problem and now I'm looking forward to it BIG TIME. How are we all fixed for having it large in Cardiff on the Friday?
  15. B*****ks and any other expletive you can think of.
  16. Can't be doing with all this indecision, I've just provisionally booked a one night stay on the Saturday night which won't be any good to me if the game's at midday. It's not like the game's have only just been arranged is it?
  17. Not forgetting that Chesterfield and Wycombe have both graced the semi finals in recent years.
  18. ******!!! Is there really no accommodation left on the Saturday night in Cardiff? B*****ks.
  19. If they are, it contradicts with the UEFA website that states 14th April. That's not to say they won't change it in the coming days though.
  20. Just checked UEFA website and noticed that should Newcastle get to the last 8 (which they surely will) the second leg of their UEFA cup quarter final will be played on 14th April (Thursday). Surely this will mean that their semi will have to be on the Sunday.
  21. To further add to the was it/ wasn't it a penalty debate, did anyone see Gudjonnsson give Kenton dog's abuse after the challenge? He knew it was a penalty and if one of their players feels like that, it's good enough for me. And after all the games with Souness without one such award, is it not justice? Anyway Cathedral Road Cardiff, you have been warned, my mate's on his way down to see his child, it'll be about 2 now!!!
  22. Another thing we are desperate for is cover at right back (as has been mentioned earlier). So I wouldn't be surprised to see us move for Mark Delaney at Villa. He's in dispute at the moment regarding a new contract and there's obviously the Welsh connection to consider. Can't make my mind up whether I'd be happy sad or indifferent to this possibility.
  23. Too many imponderables on this thread but the one thing we can all agree in is the need for a new striker. Ashton is shaping up very well in a poor team in the Prem . If he has any sense he'll have negotiated a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for a certain fee should the inevitable happen and Norwich go down. He's a player we should be very interested in. Elsewhere in this thread Gabbidon has been mentioned and as Short/Amo and Johannson (hopefully not imo) will probably be leaving there is a need for a replacement. It's a good call, Cardiff had to sell Kavanagh last week just to survive (apparently) so it's another good player we can get on the cheap. Oh and one last point - Emerton - sell.
