Not his biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination but Scott Dann was immense tonight, played like a real captain. A lot more confident in our chances now, more down to the desire and application from the players over the last two games. Oh and Todd Kane has a real future in the game in my opinion, looks a proper player.

Would always stop to read any of his contributions while skimming through. Always seemed a knowledgeable bloke and his love for rovers shone through. RIP Kelbo

To be fair he'd probably be better than Dann

Are you saying that wee Stevie has been economical with the truth?
-
Why do we need this bloke when we've just signed the new Gattusso?

Stefan Dennis - Don't it make you feel good -
Glenn's post above yours with you mentioning Frank Ocean? Thought it was a play on his revelations last week? Obviously not.

He he, CUD were so underrated. Remember first time I saw them they were supporting Wedding Present at King George's in 1989. Seem to remember some bloke on stage with them with a balaclava on?!!! One giant love is still one of my all time favourite songs. Saw Carter at Mcr Academy 1991, they were superb-one of the loudest bands I've ever seen and unbelievable energy. Got roses tkts for the 29th, had to go down the ebay route and managed to bag 5 for 80 quid apiece which I think is a bit of a result. Got the money shirt and flares at the ready, oh to be 19 again...

If you don't mind a brief flirtation with Dingleland then try The New Waggoners on Manchester Road. Went last Thursday at 6 and there was already a dozen tables populated and by the time we left at8 it was standing only. Food portions are very generous (the whale sized fish was huge as was the steak pud) and at about a tenner for a main meal is reasonably priced. The service is very good, attentive without being overbearing and there's no long wait after ordering. Apparently, the guy who's taken it is the same bloke as runs The Calf's Head in Worston and he has big plans for the New Waggoners. Give it a go, I was full and I'm a glutton.

Just bought a cheap mountain bike from Halfords for 80 quid and did a quick 3 mile circuit home to Lower Darwen cuminating in a lung buster up Stopes Brow. Nearly chucked up but bloody loved it. Back on a decent ride on weds/thurs (weather permitting) up round pleasington past clog and butlers and back down livesey branch. Should be fun.

Bearing in mind he owed them 91k I'd think their e-mails could be as nasty as one could compose and they'd be quite justified.

It'll be true. Have personally heard some very unsavoury tales about him and business dealings. Shame, because he is a true Rovers legend.

Franco could barely speak English never mind write it!! It'd be Tony, I'd assume.

Love it!! The 12 year old you allude to was actually a mate of mine who was 20 at the time. He had the freeze frame as his Facebook photo for a while!! What a game though in the best atmosphere I can remember at Ewood. The half time break was surreal with non stop chanting and a kind of collective realisation that finally it was going to be OUR year.

Hankey has started to make more pro PDC noises lately suggesting that he could make the switch. He must've seen the money on offer and when Merv King (who I believe is an inferior player to Ted) can establish himself as a top 8 player so quickly, he must fancy a piece of it. Martin Adams has his main sponsorship with Lakeside (inextricably linked with the BDO and their flagship tournament) so he wont be making the switch. Personally I think that's a shame because he really could make a mark in the PDC. Also good to see Magnus Caris in the last 8 of the Masters in Bridlington - not heard from him since 1994 when he made the World Semi Finals when he was beaten in a great match by Bobby George. Also saw Dave Whitcombe in the Friday qualifiers for the same tournament, looks like he's joined the BDO again after being periodically barred from the PDC for taking part in the 'Legends' series.

Did he not fight successfully to clear his name on the drug charges?

It's all set up for a Taylor Barney final for me and I think it'll be a cracker. Like the look of the boy Nicholson, the Aussie Geordie (from Blyth incidentally) two very good wins against Lewis and Priestley. Think the Stompe Mardle game will be a good one later this aft too, slightly favour the Dutchman. As for tonight, think it's Barney 4-0, Wade 4-3 and Klaasen 4-2.

Agreed. Man U celebrate Busby, Liverpool - Shankly but it's doubtful even those legends had as much of an impact on their club as Jack Walker did. We should never forget and equally we should not let fans of other clubs forget either.

'Important' bands don't have to be prolific, there aren't many more 'important' bands than the Sex Pistols and they only released two albums.
