  1. it does not take a genius to know we are likely to be at extreme risk of FFP, you can lose £40m over 4 seasons. We have lost in total £75m in those 4 seasons. Knock of what we can exclude and we are at about £52m of losses for those 4 seasons, so in breach by £12m. How exactly do you think we are not close losing on average £18m a season each time we release our accounts.
  2. Because at that point we were not under an embargo, January was probably the last time for 12 months plus we will be able to sign someone. Infact if you knew you were likely to breach FFP you should have signed more players in January that you needed. If you look through things, we are most probably breaching FFP by £2-3m a year, over 4 years we'll be £10-12m over it. So for Armstrong you have to hold out till the figure you want is hit otherwise no point in selling as you are already breaching by a large amount. Next we don't actually know for sure if any club has actually made an official bid for Armstrong, just enquiries.
  3. I think MK Dons are a significantly larger club than Wycombe, certainly infrastructure, season ticket holders etc. They have a 30,000 seater stadium, just completing a £35m training complex, 10,000+ season ticket holder, commercial income, no debt etc. If you were identifying a club to acquire outside the Premiership, they would probably be in a top 3 shortlist. However, i think Ainsworth is loyal to Wycombe and wants to get them promoted again, so will likely stay.
  4. The Pickering deal is exactly the sort of deal we should be doing. Low fee, good age, lower league with a good upsell potential. The Barnsley/Brentford approach of being able to sell him in 1 to 2 seasons. What we shouldn't be doing is signing 28-29 year old freebies who cost a fortune on sign on bonuses and weekly wage with absolutely no potential to make any money out of. I just don't get why you are complaining on signing a good prospect in a position we needed to solve. Also at the minute there isn't a loans only policy there is a no signing policy full stop. It could be because Venky's have had enough, been promised more than 10,000 season ticket sales etc or perhaps Venky's are buying a new business which will require all of their spare cash which has arisen in the past 6 months since the Pickering deal. We don't know and most probably never will.
  5. Looks like MK Dons are now moving for Ainsworth as their new manager.
  6. They probably do, they are probably briefed more on politics for their normal businesses than on us so it will have been discussed by their advisers that how they run us will be appearing in a Government report and White paper condemning them.
  7. The brought an investor over in March/April which seemed to have fallen through. There is also the football review going on by Tracey Crouch that has a lot of people worried especially her requirement for functioning board, fan representation on the board and the independent regualtor. Possibly they have decided they can't be bothered with it all now as they would have to change completely how we operate
  8. No one has a clue, he tried to bring in Reach but Venky's did not approve of increasing the wage budget for him. Why we have brought a new head of recruitment in, God knows
  9. Administration is being discussed by a lot of people who work at Ewood for the first time. Several that have young families have left for other clubs already and are not taking chances.
  10. It wasn't for FFP issues we went into an embargo, it was for not submitting accounts on time and also the EFL wanted funds pumped directly into Rovers and not Venky's London and then loaned to Rovers. With Pickering, he was a suggestion made by the Recruitment and Analysis team and Mowbray was not involved with the transfer at all. Venky's are still willing to invest in good deals if they become available. The fee is rising to £500k i think the amount paid in the initial payment is £150k. I think you will find the last instalments for Breton and Gallagher have just gone and were far higher than Pickering. Hell, Brereton's first international Cap triggered a payment under his transfer of far higher than the total Pickering deal. You then have the loyalty bonuses to all of the players released for seeing out their contracts, which for the players involved was probably a couple of million. Mulgrew on his own was probably close to £1m with his weekly wage packet.
  11. I think he was rushed back last season and has not been able to fully recover. AS we know TM likes to over rule his medical and fitness departments when he sees fit.
  12. Sadly there is nothing we can do about it either. If Brockall is put up for sale, possibly the fans can buy it or one of our richer fans at least
  13. I just hope we keep both parts of Brockall and all of the none football and backroom teams, so we can rebuild next year. Having the 3 of them let loose trying to reduce costs on their own could do untold damage to us.
  14. We are only losing £20m a season because of the way Waggott and Mowbray have run the club. Bring in a good CEO and Manager and it's probably £10m a season required in its present state maybe less if you can sell a player each season.
  15. I stand corrected £3m, but i am not sure we'll go down any more fan wise from 5,000 season ticket holders. Commercial income is already incredibly low and likley to stay at that amount. So we'll be looking at income £9m a season and as we'll like only have kids at the club this season with most of the big earners, brereton, Gallagher, Rothwell, Lenihan all having deals finishing next season which won't be renewed if we are facing relegation. They probably will be able to do next season for £5-7m injection in League 1. With contracts being what they are it's starting to seem like this may have been the plan for the last few seasons, go for it and if we don't do it make sure the club can be run on a shoe string in League 1
  16. The sad thing is To fix it, it would be pretty simple. Sack the trio, Bring back Tom Finn and appoint him as Executive Chairman, Ainsworth in as manager and give them £3m for players and what ever they raise as well.
  17. We've dumbed down so much in the past 2 seasons, i think the difference is now going to be £1-2m in lost revenue
  18. To be honest I think everyone at Ewood expected the trio to be gone this summer and can't believe they are still employed. Seems everyone else at Ewood seems to be leaving instead which paints a very depressing picture.
  19. I think the trio expected funds from Armstrong sale and the released players to be invested back in the team. Venky's have decided against. If you look back at how much Venky's put into the club, there was no real difference to them of being in the Championship or League 1, the money they had to spend was identical. Also they got a promotion out of it and has been there only success. So i don't think they really care.
  20. It's a possibility or a sale. Getting rid of operating costs normally make clubs more attractive to buyers but normally the wrong type of buyers sadly. I think Venky's have just gone we've spent £70m in the last 3 years and got nothing out of it what so ever. So the club needs to now start operating in a similar manner to Preston and Barnsley who have done a lot more than us over the past 3 seasons.
  21. I think it is more serious this time. Last time nobody touched Brockall, youth, coaches, backroom teams, none football, maintenance etc. and just sold players. This time Waggott is doing both, decimating the infrastructure and getting rid of players. Getting back from this, will be impossible with Venky's still in place.
  22. A couple of friends who are very close to the club.
  23. The owners are no longer comfortable with £20m a season. They are going back to their original funding ideas when they purchased the club of £5-7m only per season. If a good deal comes through they may increase to fund this. Waggott and Mowbray have been informed in the past couple of weeks and therefore have to cut everything down to that funding requirement. The new operating budget for everything is £16-18m a season. The analysis team and recruitment team are being downsized as is the u23s and youth teams. Backroom team such as Damien Johnson and Lowe may also be off shortly as well. A cut of all of the none football side is also happening, maintenance, marketing, commercial, catering, club shop, office staff etc. Moving to one base at brockall will also save close to £1m a season. It maybe exempt from FFP but Venky's are no longer funding an open cheque book approach so has to be cut.
  24. i believe it is rolling and we would be under an embargo until we reduced operating costs to significantly as well as being limited to the size of contract we can offer existing players. There are an awful more players next year who may well leave on a free
