  1. Did you see the last five seconds of the trailer? That's the ACTUAL game.
  2. Ed Byrne, David Mitchell, Milton Jones, Stewart Francis, and Miles Jupp are probably my favourite guests on Mock the Week. I must admit, I rarely find female comedians funny on panel-shows. They're always a bit try-hard for my liking.
  3. With the exception of Ferguson and Grabbi, most of those flops were cheap, low-risk signings.
  4. Anywaaaay... Jamelia should clean up on this year's Strictly.
  5. No one mentioned the Fonz getting sent off for Sevilla on his debut the other week.
  6. Berg & Appleton were sacked during a board-room tug of war between Shebby & Shagnew. We're now back to the kind of situation we had under Kean, where no one wants to rock the boat.
  7. Good luck to him. A good striker who was ill-suited to Allardyce's kick and rush tactics.
  8. Didn't Williams also dither with Ince, and one of the board had to step in?
  9. He's not wrong, though. The Klitschkos wouldn't have lived with the greats of the '70s.
  10. Personally, I think it's going to suck. It'll never live up to expectations, and the Square who created the original FFVII are a pale shadow of the Square today. Anyone who suffered through the FFVII Compilation knows that.
  11. It probably won't come out until 2025. Plenty of time to save up!
  12. Uncharted 4, Fallout 4, Dark Souls 3, The Last Guardian & the FFVII Remake (even though it'll suck). I finally have reason to buy a PS4.
  13. GRRM's involvement in the show has been dwindling. He didn't even write an episode this season. There have even been some veiled digs at the showrunners on his blog. However, he is ultimately the one to blame. He sold the rights of his magnum opus before he'd finished it. Strawman. This is the standard recourse for apologists of the TV show. Understandably, they would have to trim some of the fat from the books to fit it to screen, but this isn't the issue. It's the pointless thematic changes they've made to the plot and its characters that are a betrayal of the source material, which frankly deserves so much better than cheap HBO fanfiction. Again, strawman. Not once have I, or any critics of the show, asked for a literal adaptation. If you're going to debate with someone at least stick to the points and not pull up complaints I haven't even made. Also, ageing up the characters was more of a practical matter because it would be difficult to film a 15 year-old chick getting railed by a barbarian warlord. No, it's not valid at all. Comic books have a multiverse wherein there are numerous interpretations of the same characters and storylines. ASOIAF isn't a comic book franchise, it's a series of novels with one overarching plot.
  14. When the adaptation subverts the characters and themes of the original work, then yes I'd say it's mighty important. Of course, as long there's plenty of tits and cheap shock value, little things like character development, narrative logic and consistency matter not. That's a completely valid analogy... not.
  15. I'm sick of hearing from you, but here you are. Some parts yes, but this wasn't one of them. IN THE BOOKS, Jon tries to raise an army of Wildlings & volunteer Crows to attack Winterfell after he receives a threatening letter supposedly written by Ramsay Snow. All hell breaks loose and some of the Night's Watch assassinate Jon for violating his oath to remain neutral. In the show, they assassinate Jon... 'cause reasons. What are these "Game of Thrones books", you speak of?
  16. So they changed Jon's last word from 'Ghost...' his beloved direwolf companion, to 'Olly...' some little sh*t who doesn't even exist in the books. God how I hate them.

  19. It's unnecessary, though, because we already know that it was the social stigma of Tyrion's dwarfism and the death of Joanna Lannister giving birth to him. If not for one, or both, of these things then Tywin probably would've accepted him as his true-born son. Why on earth would we want that? Tywin is supposed to be a #%!@. Doesn't make him any less complex. You never addressed my second point, either. We already have one Secret Targ plot twist on the cards.
  20. Of course it isn't, it's the complete opposite. Tywin has spent most of his life resenting Tyrion and telling him he's illegitimate because of his dwarfism. If it turns out Tywin was actually right all along and Tyrion wasn't his son, the irony is lost. We already have one 'Secret Targ' at the centre of the plot, GRRM wouldn't be hackneyed enough to include another.
