  1. Football insider? Isn't this the same fella who said Obafemi had turned us down? When we hadn't even spoken to the player yet
  2. Are you a grown man or a child? I don't know what point you are trying to make with your stupid childish replies. Are you that daft that you can't understand it would be hard for a 21 year old guy going into a dressing room and playing with a team that he can't communicate with? So I take it you think him being unable to speak the language shouldn't hinder him?
  3. We needed the same when Dack got injured and Armstrong stepped up, nobody on here at the time could have predicted such a upturn in Armstrong's numbers. We need to improve the team unless extremely lucky we ain't buying anyons who will immediately start hitting those sort of figures, his 28 goals got us a 15th place finish.
  4. Did you watch the games he played for Chile? If not don't have any idea why you are joining the conversation. Or did you read the match report on Wikipedia?
  5. I'm not disputing the price tag was way too much but last season was much improved and anyone who doesn't agree with that just can't get away from his price tag.
  6. I do yes.He didn't make team of the group stages through the novelty factor.
  7. We don't have to replace 30 goals. We have to improve as a team and stop letting in silly goals and get ahead when we are the dominant side. It takes 1 goal to win a game , not playing down Armstrong's season but how many of those 28 goals came when we were beating teams well?
  8. Yeah you must have been watching different games to myself, the Chile coaching staff, Chile supporters and his Chilean team mates who all gave praise and said he played well.Even when he came on against Brazil he looked a danger and was very unlucky not to score. Never said he did look like a 7 million player.Just because he hasn't shown he is worth 7 million doesn't mean he doesn't give value to the team.Brererton didn't put that valuation on him nor did any fan who thinks he has something about him
  9. Eh? I said he played well for Chile DESPITE the fact he doesn't speak the language. Have no idea what you are waffling on about
  10. He played well the week before.Hardly anyone comes out with credit for Tuesday night
  11. Everyone was woeful in the second half at least on Tuesday night. They crashed out to Brazil losing 1-0 in the quarter final. He played well in spells last season his assists and goals improved also and he played well enough against Swansea. He can improve but we shouldn't be contemplating letting him run his contract down .He is an asset and is getting better
  12. He had a decent season last year, some good spells some bad like everyone else. Not sure if you watched the Chile matches but he played well it wasn't just a case of him scoring 1 goal and everyone thinking he is brilliant, he played very well for them especially if you consider he doesn't know the language etc
  13. Yeah but they are going too, they don't want the player and are open to offers we have first option not exclusivety. If he doesn't want to join us Southampton ain't going to keep him out of spite
  14. We have lost 11 players, with the way we pick up injuries we need the majority of those replacing wether that be from our own academy, permanent signings or loans. It's pie in the sky stuff to believe that they all can be replaced from the academy. Some will be ready, others won't and some never will be.
  15. We have made an offer if someone else The final decision rests with the player.Southampton can't force him to go anywhere. He is out of contract after this season
  16. Obafemi has other options,it's a wait and see job ,from his perspective he doesn't have to rush a decision
  17. They could fill in but will the odd match or few minutes here and there be more beneficial in the longer term or would they be better off dropping down for a season and playing regular games like Carter did last season? I would keep Butterworth but can see why he would be loaned out if a permanent attacking player is brought in
  18. And if it said he had signed everyone would be questioning the source and waiting for an announcement from the club
  19. Nixon reckons Obafemi hasn't given an answer yet, 2 other clubs in for him
  20. Started for West Brom last week
  21. Travis is contracted to 2023 with a further year in the clubs favour so effectively he is contracted for another 3 years
  22. He is now saying permanent signings might be made, he wouldn't be saying this if he hadn't been the go ahead.Thev"we might be able to" is him just waffling on again. I agree with what you say above , in the sense the manager should be sacked and the people behind and others but in place. But whenever they turn off the taps it is after 2 years of a manager in charge when it is coming close to EFL looking over the books and charges time. You have a point that in the past it wasn't cracked down on but they are starting to crack down now. It is the fault of the owners and the people on the ground that more that half the fan base feel alienated and no longer go but the situation is what it is ,our matchday income is minimal compared to other teams in the division, other teams sell their assets at the right time and more often than not get market value. Our wage bill 180 to turnover, who pays the majority of that the owners do.They have spent loads on wages since coming down, the amount of money wasted in the early days was unreal..Best , Murphy, all the foreign lads on big money contracts that we ended up paying up.Rhodes 8 35 grand a week, signing on fees etc, we will be lucky if we got our money back. Mowbrays time here had plenty of money and has had to sell nobody.Mulgrew close to 20 a week ffs. Now we have sold Armstrong they will allow him to spend a bit again. Our problems lay with being incompetent and utterly wasteful added to the fact the club itself isn't generating any cash (I don't want Mowbray being given more money to spend on permanent signings) but will say I think Obafemi would be a good investment for the club
  23. Yeah but let's see what happens as Obafemi could have other interest
  24. He hasn't they could only sign 4 on wages of 4.5 k per week he wasn't one of the four
