  1. Not blaming coaches, Benni is unprofessional. It is just this has risen the week before there is a parting of the ways is possible. I think both parties are using it so force this.
  2. If Benni Mc. was as professional as you would like he would not be at Rovers he'd be at one of Europe's Elite clubs. That is why he nearly joined Chelsea. The bit Nearly being the important bit. There was something persuading them not to. The man is flawed but he has one thing going for him. Skill. This is the reason why Rovers fans forgive him. At present too few Rovers players wish to use. If they wish to watch players give 100% effort but little skill they go to a lower standard of football. They pay premium, except at Rovers, to watch skill. They don't go to watch effort. If that was the case Keith Andrews would a hero not touted on here as the worst player to wear Blue and White. But Rovers coaching staff for one reason or another have failed for 18 months to get Benni to level where they call fit. If he is not obeying what they are asking then continual breaking rules consitutes Gross Misconduct and he can Summarily Dismissed from his contract. Now the other point is that the coaches are failing to continually do their jobs, so should be replaced. The final option is that one week before the Transfer Window this has reared it head again and both parties are using to force the issue.
  3. No its not that simple. Why is he too fat then? Why is he not responding to fitness training? If he is repeatablly not obeying the rules then does that not constitute gross misconduct? In a World Cup Year when it is in his home country means Benni must be so unhappy with football at present it is not good for Rovers if we to sell or keep him.
  4. I'm not saying Sam is wrong in his assessment on Benni's fitness. Benni's professional is at best questionable. All I'm saying is that Sam has had over twelve months to get him fit but waits until we've just played two games in three days and one week before the Transfer Deadline to give individual training. Why not do this say two months ago or is it an attempt to get a saleable asset to hand in a Transfer Request? Anyway does Benni's interview translate into a Transfer Request? Whichever your view it is now time to move on and gives him what he wants.......so long as he takes that dead weight who played alongside him on monday with him.
  5. Sam has been trying to sell Benni since last season. Benni has not been professional since the end of the first season at the club. Benni has been unfit since the beginning of last season, why wait until the week before the Transfer Window to attempt to get him fit? Whoever is saying what just means that it becomes a very public rift which means any interested party either loses interest or is not prepared to gamble on an unfit sulk meaning that they'll only take him on loan or at a much reduced fee. This means Rovers cannot get a replacement for him meaning we then are stuck with the unfit sulking player until summer. It would have been better for ALL parties if this had been dealt with better.
  6. Right Sam is trying to force Benni out the door but by saying he is overweight and lazy is hardly the way to go about it. All this is doing to dropping people's interest and thus the price. None of this is good for Rovers.
  7. Skysports claiming the Final Straw was being booed when he was subbed. How can they be so inaccurate? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5811830,00.html
  8. It is no secret that Sam has wanted Benni out. It seems the weight issue is going to be the way of forcing the issue. Forcing him in for extra training after two games in three days seems excessive even if fitness issues are of concern. A parting of the ways will probably be best for all concerned to prevent any bad blood developing and causing issues with team morale.
  9. Obviously you did not watch the first half yesterday as he was the main reason Dunn was a spectator for the first half. As I commented on the pompey thread earlier today there was one instance in the first half when Dunn was on a run and the Axe committed a foul to prevent a shooting opportunity. Should have been booked. Now compare that with Pompey's goal and wonder if O'Hara would have had as much space if an Axe type player was wearing blue and white. Rovers tactical change at half time meant that the Axe's contribution faded in the second half.
  10. The problem is Benni is not physically enough and cannot play the lone forward while Sam feels Dunn would neglect the defensive midfield duties needed for a central or wide midfielder so we can't play 4-4-2. Sam thinks the only solution is to play either off a strong front man.
  11. No but we need to raise money to invest in the squad. Selling Jason would not raise enough money to buy a penny chew.
  12. Other point to bear in mind is that when Benni is in form usually we see the best of other players such as MGP. He draws oppostion defenders and creates space for others. A strong player such as Da Santo with Benni creating space for Dunny to run into the space. Sam won't allow three forward players with little defensive options though. Plus with Benni in the team then there is no excuse to sell him in January meaning no cash to spend unless he sells his other saleable assets either Samba or Robinson.
  13. plus our defence is leaking goals so all three areas are weak. This does sound logical.
  14. Both Jason and Benni are prone to stand still and whinge when a move breaks down and are slow coming back on side, but there are times that Benni is caught off side when trying to pinch a few yards on the last defender. The problem with this is that the midfield is just a split second slow in picking a pass. It is not a new problem as Andy Cole had the same issue when he was here. The fact remains that our midfield is just not good enough. But to be fair if any of our midfielders were quick enough to supply that sort of pass they would be at a higher club than us.
  15. No surprise though is it? He has been trying to leave every time he has not been in the first team
  16. To play that role you have to move around the pitch and run at people with the ball. Neither of which are Benni's strong points. To get the best out of Benni, he has to be playing off a front man poaching goals.
  17. It is quite clear that Big Sam has no intention in playing him so we may as well get him of the wage bill. But I agree to lend a proven goal scorer to one of our relegation rivals does seem a bit silly.
  18. It was on Football Focus last Saturday saying he was rejoining City's first team for training last Monday so by now probably injured again.
  19. Which makes Roberts' % even better as he missed his one penalty of the season.
  20. Yes they did. But at the end of the day, a penalty is still a chance that has to be put away, ask Mr. Roberts.
  21. All this proves is the forward play last season was so poor. The % proves that the two forwards compared favourably, surprising for Roberts as all anyone remembers are his misses of last season. We need to create more which makes Sam seeing midfield as not a priority seem a bit odd
