Interesting---good post. Only 2 of the top ten on that list doing well. 2nd most touches for us and we've conceded the most goals apart from Rotherham and they are bottom. (57 versus our 56!)
One stat that would be so appropriate for us would be the number of chances converted as against those created.
Bit subjective, that's the problem but I reckon we'd be bottom!

A very welcome win....... half a sigh of relief. If we can follow it up beating or taking a point at Birmingham we can breathe a bit more easily.
We usually do well at Birmingham.

TBH all I wanted today were the points.
Despite having 66% possession they were awful.
When we were on a good run last season we routinely had less possession than our opponents and the converse is true too, when we had more we lost!
Possession is vastly over-rated, it what you do with it that counts.

Tomasson is not the right man for the job even if it took him to decide that after the final straw of the McGuire farce.
No-one is the right man for the job with Venkys in charge, no such person exists and Jdt wanted to leave at the end of last season but Venkys insisted he fulfilled his contract.
That sentence doesn't make sense anyway!

Nothing but love and respect for JDT from me here.
Impossible to really jusdge whether he was truly great or not as every transfer window we had it was a complete disaster leading to a weaker squad than what it was before.
He cut through the smog that has engulfed the club for 13 years like a stiff breeze and laid blame at the feet of those responsible.
It wasn't all brilliant, one or two games in particular were beyond awful but on the whole it's been good.
In the whole time venkys have been here he has been the only club official to show pride, ambition, integrity and most importantly respect for the fans.
So good luck Jon Dahl Tomasson, I'm sure you'll prove to be a top top manager in the future. Thanks for actually showing us what a real football club should be like and giving us, the fans, some long overdue respect.
He gave us a glimpse of what we could be.

Then attendances will go lower. Simple as. Can't keep increasing prices. They need cut massively.
You can't cut the budget anymore otherwise its league 1. Simple as

The club will be waiting until Eustace is all sorted and they've done some media coverage of their own. They won't want JDT leaving to be the story here.
Exactly right. They know the fans will be in a hostile mood tomorrow and they are calculating that the crowd will be restrained by the introduction of a new manager. "Give him a chance FFS!"

Rovers on a dreadful run, winless in I don't know how many games
Managerless teams often win after a manager departs.
How big an indictment of Tomasson would that be?
Dead cat bounce?

I have a few questions that i'd hope the Trust would look to ask during their next meeting. It's a changing landscape at the moment, so some of these may be obsolete by the time the next meeting with the club comes round.
1. There is no clarity at the moment if GB remains in situ. What is his employment status with the football club?
2. (Dependent on if GB has left and hasn't been replaced) The club have continuously flip flopped between having a DoF/Sporting Director and going with a traditional 'Manager' approach since the Raos took over the club.
- Are the club planning to replace GB with another DoF/Sporting Director?
- For the sake of longevity and to provide an opportunity for succeeding, would it not be wise to advise the owners to keep a particular footballing structure in place for longer than they historically have?
3. (Also dependent on if GB has left and hasn't been replaced) - Which individual (or individuals) made the choice to hire the new manager/head coach?
4. (Also dependent on if GB has left and hasn't been replaced) - Who does the manager/head coach now directly report to?
Eustace's appointment will be announced today. I don't know who made the choice initially but I'm sure Venkys have approved it.
My only thought that we could have done much worse. In fact we have!

Big sam wouldn't last 5 minutes here before getting sacked - JDT got his punches in on waggot and the club and hid behind his cheeky little smile. Big Sam ain't got a cheeky little smile.
I'd have him here in a heartbeat.
So would I but Venkys won't.

We need to let this team play to their strengths,
Which are? I can only think of one---we create loads of chances.
But we rarely take them and we've lost Adam.

Knowing the shit we’re in, knowing that he’s available and knowing Venkys won’t ever go for him doesn’t help my current frame of mind regarding rovers at all.
Sorry Den, wish I could help you!

He didn't play in the 1960 cup final. That was Louis Bimpson.
I'm sorry to hear of Isherwood's death. He must have been knocking on.
I went to that game too! But I picked that out of the story I read! Just assumed it was correct.

My thoughts on Allardyce are well documented, but I'd have him in right now, he's perfect for the shit we are in.
Don't bother travelling to away games though!
Seriously, I'm a Big Sam fan but I cannot see Venkys ever employing him.

the inability to turn around results either in game
was affected by the choices available to him on the bench which, in turn was related to the strength and numbers of the squad.

Foe those old enough to remember him, Roy Isherwood has died.
Right-winger, played in 1960 Cup Final.

Thanks mate, I wont always get it right, but I have always tried to stand up for those supporters who share common views. I have many faults, being outspoken is one of them. As an independent supporter, rather than a group representative I have found far more freedom to push the barriers further.
Thanks yet again Glen. Look after yourself, more important things than Rovers.

lol,the way it`s going rovers will have two managers on saturday,if it`s true then eustace has been sold a false promise or he`s just a bit stupid for coming here
JDT can take charge first half and get us a goal or 2, and Eustace can take over 2nd half and keep them out!

I'm pretty sure GB said he wanted to go once Luton made a bid.
It wasn't in our interest to let Wharton, Armstrong, Raya, Duff, Dunn, Shearer, Sutton, Roque etc go. But we're Blackburn, not Real Madrid or Man City. if you're not a destination club, and we are far far far from that, your players are pretty much all available if what the club deems is an acceptable offer is made.
Actually he nearly said as much himself
What players say in the press is invariably tailored to the needs of their Club. He's not going to say "I was happy to stay but they needed £2M is he? Any way, I don't care what he said, we needed him and he was contracted to us so I'd have kept him.

He pushed to leave, as would most players at this level when a top tier team comes in. He's 31, chances of playing in an elite league wouldn't come around many more times.
I don't know whether he pushed to leave or not, did he tell you this? He was under contract to us and it wasn't in our interests to let him go. As became obvious very early indeed.

If Kaminski had been between the posts all season I'm guessing our position in the league would be rather higher.
He was left with Pears and Wahlstedt and then immediately lost Pears. much of the defence's problems are down to that.
We sacrificed safety in the League for £2M. Venkys again.
