Which is why I hold out a distant hope that the intervention of the Indian authorities and Courts may ultimately be a blessing in the long run.
In the short term not - the stripping back of the last 12 months or so shows that - but ultimately there's now the involvement of a third party infinitely more powerful than Venkys. Up to this point they've been free to do as they please with nobody able to do a damn thing about it. Get the authorities and Courts involved and things get interesting.
It took Court action to bring the Oystons down and get them out of Blackpool, and it might take the same to get rid of the poison here.
As long as the investigations and restrictions continue I'll hold out hope that it is leading towards findings or an end point. The worry is that the investigation goes nowhere and the restrictions are released, then we are back to square one.
Personally I hope they are found guilty of some very serious stuff, and it ultimately brings their entire empire crashing down.
Behind iron bars rather than wielding them would be the optimum result!

And yet still aren't above us. It's been Venkys regular get out of jail card that there will be 3 worse teams. Hard to see all of them maintaining that form, and there's still only 9 games to overtake us. Thank goodness we had the buffer that we did though
There's hardly any buffer left now though.

My only slight hope about running out of fixtures is that we aren’t (yet) in the drop zone, there’s always a chance other teams collapse worse
Rotherham apart, they seem to be rallying?

Surely, he could have ensured Rovers got a better deal.
All that stuff about his looking forward to coming back and meeting old friends made me want to puke.
Good post Len. I've liked it but there's a gremlin in the works!

I think we will have a better idea as we go into the international break after the following games...
Today - Hudds v WBA
Tuesday- Brum vs Middlesbrough
Saturday - Middlesbrough vs Rovers, Stoke vs Norwich, Rotherham vs Huddersfield, Plymouth vs Preston, Sunderland vs QPR.
We simply have to win at Boro, as the fixtures coming back after the break don't look very good at all.
I still think we'll scrape a few more draws and one more win out of the last 9, and think some of the sides below us won't do that.
We simply had to win at home to Plymouth and the previous game and so on.
But we never do.
Fast running out of time and fixtures.
Down without a whimper I fear.

We'll lose anyone capable of playing in the Championship for a start. Sammi first to go.
It'll be a real battle to get back up and I can'r see how we will. The problem is I'm wondering if I'll care.
75 years since I saw my first game and a long family history of support before that.
Never expected it to end but it doesn't seem like Rovers anymore, it seems like we're buying into a foreign scam.
Time to give Venkys an ultimatum---fuck off or we will.

We are going down unless we majorly fluke a result or someone else loses every match
We went into the last 2 games saying we had to get 6 points. We got 2!
With every game we get nearer to the drop and those around us get unexpected wins.
Given the remaining fixtures we look doomed.

In former days Ash Philips would have become our captain and stayed with us although a regular for England.
Instead, this weekend, he will turn out for Plymouth against us at Ewood Park.
Just another sad sign of how far we have fallen.
I thought our reliance on the Academy was to save us transfer fees, instead its to pay the lekky bill.

Seems to me that they will refuse to sell no matter what and "funding is guaranteed".
Which means the inadequate funding will continue to drag us down and down till there's nowhere to go.
What a prospect the diminishing band of our supporters face.
Absolutely no relief in sight.

As it stands Wednesday, Millwall, QPR and Huddersfield are showing that they have the ingredients to stay up. All are picking up points at a healthy rate. All still in trouble but if they keep doing what they are will be fine.
The ones sinking fast are us, Plymouth and Stoke. Birmingham struggling a bit without Mowbray but are showing fight. Could have got a point with 10 men against Southampton and got a good point at Hull last night. So I don't see them going down.
Thing is that Plymouth have a good solid home record and will win games there against the poorer sides. So not sure about them
Think we are destined for the drop, only positive at the moment is we aren't losing every week and are getting a few draws but those could well cost us as they did under Mowbray when draws against Wolves and Bristol were celebrated and then we were relegated.
The odd win here and there and you stay up. Takes a lot of draws to make up for just 2 wins.
That's our problem right now.

He wouldn't have made a difference tonight. Would only have gotten into a dog fight with their lot.
He's a genuine Championship player and experienced though. How many others of that ilk have we got?
A real blunder that one especially with the games coming so thick and fast and fatigue being such a factor.

Plymouth and Sheff W. at home are massive games.
They are all massive games. The problem is we win none of them.
Millwall, 4 shots on goal the whole game and 1 on target---the goal!
We're a mess and it will be a miracle if we survive. Number of clubs below us with a game in hand and only 1 point behind.
That 10 point gap that protected us not long ago has been frittered away. We are a shell of a club.

This is the problem with loanees.Thay don't have any relationship with the club other than transactional.
Just waiting for the season to end so they can go back to their old club or a different one.
Don't show the passion needed to get us out of the relegation scrap we're in.
Not true of all but true of many.

LT board very unhappy. Its not the owners fault (they are "generous but naive"apparently but its JDT's!
Not fond of us either.(By the way "the vermin from India" bit is used sarcastically in reference to an earlier post which used those words.)

Same old with The Rao’s. They never learn. As for JE. This appointments on Waggott.
That says it all.
The next two games are massive. Let’s see us crumble.
The thing is, they could do it against Newcastle, how come they can't perform in the League?
Because it wasn't on tele or something?

All the results went against us today, this time next week worse case scenario we could be in the bottom three, can only see it getting worse, really feel for the club
Seems no time at all since we were 10 points away from a relegation place and people were thinking we would be OK this season but would struggle next.
We are in a real dog-fight now. Is there enough fight left in the dog?

Some interesting points in this LT article. For Example I didn't realise that their keeper was off his line for Hyam's penalty and it should have been retaken.
That just about sums up the official's night in my view.
Apologies if its already been posted, I haven't seen it before.

Happy 37th birthday to Kyle McFadzean. He looks like he's 47 but plays like he's 27. I particularly liked the way he cleaned out the Newcastle player in front of the dug outs. No foul, ball and man taken and a Newcastle player looking like he had been hit by a juggernaut.

Really disappointed with the manager with those substitutions.
Might as well have thrown a white towel on the pitch and walked off. Before those two substitutions we were competing really well.
Okay, we have limitations but swapping a CB for another when needing a goal? Literally what is the point?
Those substitutions
The subs were crap but that says more about our shite squad than Eustace.
And with them subs there goes the game
Markanday coming on - Eustace waving the white flag
Koumetio is a bombscare
What on earth was the non-league level Liverpool lad doing then. They’ll be targeting him until the end if they have any sense
Koumetio. Good grief he is poor
The kid at left back looks like he has won a comp in the LET. Awful
What gets me is why you're on here? Its a site for Rovers fans not a site to disparage Rovers fans.
If so many wind you up and fill you with despair why keep bothering?
