  1. This is why certain players/ex players etc keep saying expectation levels are too high amongst the fans.

They miss the point though that fans have issues with the ownership, those running it (into the ground) and all associated problems.  When you start a season after finishing 8th/7th you are entitled to expect at least midway even allowing for a budget cut.

    Not at BRFC though.

Please see earlier posts, there is no benefit of the doubt.

do I really believe they want us relegated? No, not really, they have took this on which is way over their heads and skills, the job is too big for them and their government has chopped their legs off meaning they couldn’t put funds in when it was needed. I imagine they would ultimately like to sell the club but they have put too much money in for what they would get back. So no I don’t think they want us relegated, I still think they have a half baked idea that they can get us promoted on the cheap and who knows maybe they may sell if that ever happened.

as someone else said, right now they are a cancer to the club , they are no good for us and we need rid to get any kind of club back but sorry I don’t buy into the bought to destroy us notion. Incompetent, badly advised, poor recruitment 100%

Correction - they chopped their own legs off by being found to warrant an investigation.

Both Mowbray and Tomasson did not only good jobs here, but totally different jobs here. Mowbray inherited a much worse situation, so although he had more funds, that was in the earlier years when the squad he inherited had been run down and stacked with crap and freebies. Ultimately like with Tomasson, when we got in a position of strength, he was really undermined by our shoddy owners.

Mowbray was allowed 4 players in that Jan window when one or two decent forwards would have been enough, JDT was allowed what ?  Sorba Thomas ?

TM fecked that window up badly and lets not bring Rothwell into it that was pie in the sky the facts are the 4 he brought in where all wrong.  One of them was a good player in his true position but within a few months here he'd played several different roles instead of his own and was benched for being so poor.

The season after he went back to being a specialist in his real position.

eustace is another appleton, dull, charisma free, dubious tactics and one of the "positive brigade",we could lose 7-0 every week and there would still be "positives" about it,i very much doubt he`ll achieve anything here, especially with the idiots running the club,i feel sorry for him in the respect but just can`t take to the fellow

Sadly he isn't here to achieve anything other than staying in this league and if we stay up it'll be the same aim next season.

If we go down he must be moved on no ifs buts maybes and so should the people who brought him in.

    Not quite.

Eustace has steadied the ship, but he has absolutely nothing to throw on upfront to change a game... and the starting options outside of Szmodics are shit to begin with.

Sheff Weds have gone on a ridiculous run (but hook or crook) - they were dead and buried at Christmas. If they stay up their manager is Manager of the Season without doubt.

Similar to Mowbrays later time and a large reason why he had sudden success at Sunderland with the same midtable Mogga style, he had bright young lads to throw on up top.

We've done well bringing one guy through to replace another in the goal scoring ranks up to now but it has been literally that, 1 at a time.

All of them cost money, the forward line now needs major investment/critical recruitment it is an absolute urgent priority. Even if they find another Sammie or invest in a BBD who carries the can whilst they find their feet ?

I agree. I presume they just sent a couple of mates to the ticket office and bought bulk, or did it over the phone). I'm just sure Rovers weren't online at that point.

First time I ever encountered away fans trying to buy tickets was Man Utd at home in 1992. Got asked if I'd sell my ticket off two people whilst going down. Wasn't even a big game and finished a drab 0-0.

Been asked various times down the years on the walk to the ground and to be fair iv'e done it myself a time or two at away games.

That time at Ewood though was really suss, not sure we were on line but ticketing agencies existed and i suppose it was bulk buying on the phone.

It was the era of the super touts after all but it just amazes me the club didn't notice !

Did ticketmaster even selling football tickets, let alone Rovers tickets, in 2000 when City came to town? I’m not even sure we were selling online back then. That may even have been in Rovers pre-Grooby web days.

Certainly for the Worthy cup final in 2002 I had to go down and buy tickets from the ground or over the phone.

Not sure how else whole blocks of like hundreds together in the outer wings of the riverside and JW upper/lower fell entirely into the hands of City fans.

Odd ones dotted all over the place had obviously got their hands on tickets from locals selling them but those areas no chance, they'd been empty all season.

It was dodgy beyond just a few fans grabbing a bit of money back.

Both me and my son were offered upwards of £70 for our season tickets by the Empire. When we got in the Blackburn End we were surrounded by City fans sitting in seats normally taken by season ticket holders. Ticketmaster wasn’t involved with those. I can’t speak on other sections of the ground.

There was non where we were for the majority of the game then when home fans began leaving in their droves city fans were piling in from outside in their droves.

They piled on the pitch from all corners at the end because they'd be arriving whilst the game was on and waiting for the gates to open.

Either way it was a mess.

Rovers fans sold their tickets to City fans when they won promotion with their last game of the season at Ewood. It created a very nasty situation throughout the ground.

A few did but also the club did via ticketmaster etc then pretended  they didn't know why whole sections of seats in the corner of the JW and Riverside that had been empty all season were suddenly full.

Fans took all the blame though of course.

Leicester fan here in peace.  Just a heads up to Blackburn fans....Leicester could have sold out king power twice over for this one.  Still hundreds of city fans after a ticket (just check our forum).  I'm sure many would gladly pay over the odds if any Blackburn fans fancy making a few quid and selling their ticket...they won't mind being in the Blackburn end  Likely to be loads around the ground with no ticket on match day. Or contact people who are asking on our forum

You do realise this is a team that might be relegated on the day ?

How do you think visiting fans might react to home fans in their section celebrating ?

  11. Waggot just wants to make himself look good in the owners eyes so he stays in wages and bonuses therefore the opportunity to take extra money will be too much to resist for him.

Yet again it's the perfect opportunity to give something back to the fans and rebuild the ST base by several thousand but they've passed up on every other opportunity and this will be no different.

Boost income and manage costs is all Waggot has a remit and all he asks of a gaffer is keep us in this league, the most unambitious club and ownership in this league and that will ultimately lead to relegation at some point. Not sure how that makes him look good in the owners eyes we can dedeuce they aren't that bothered and his position is safe whatever.

  12. We've blown it in the 'must not lose' winnable home games, we didn't lose some of them but didn't try hard enough to win.

Of course if we do stay up then that looks justified but in truth we should be safe now by winning just one of those, a relegation is a totally self inflicted one there are no two ways about it.

Absolutely no one comes out of it with anything positive to be said about them apart from Sammie.

There is way more to it than just not being good enough.

  13. The Andy Cole story, the training ground shenanigans, the best bus in football lie and the fact the min attention turned to him in the stands he threw the players in front of fans and made it into an us v them situation.

If non of that shows people the exact kind of character he is i don't know what does so with that in mind he'll be difficult to shift without some real pressure.

If we get relegated and his head doesn't roll there should be all out mutiny.

  14. Despite being crap this season and all the negative stuff surrounding the club we still get 15/16k home fans for the ticket deals and big games.

That shows the support is there and if only half those irreguler attendees were turned into season ticket holders that would improve things a lot on a match day.
