  1. I'm pretty certain restricting Bumley to just 2k last season went a fair way to helping us not get hammered. Yes we lost to a worldie strike but for the most part we matched them and they weren't kicking into thousands of fans roaring them on.

It was like there were no away fans there.

Anyway it's done now but as far as i'm concerned it sends out the wrong message and absolutely hands extra motivation to the visiting side which is plain stupid when stakes are so high.

I have been on Ewood with 4.5k and 7k fans in the away end.

The noise difference between the two isn't that much.

Phil that's nonsense pal i sit in the JW upper nearest BBE and i can assure you it isn't like the 80's.

It's not really about a trade off with the singing as away fans particularly big city clubs always make a din when turning up in huge numbers.  My issue is this team both this season and last has shown the nerves and conceded poor goals down that end with certain players visibly affected by it.  Even last season Coventry to name another one, at times in the past its acted to spur on our players having a wall of contrasting noise at each end but the squad we run now i feel it can have the opposite effect.

Forget the Newcastle game it was a nothing to lose cup tie but when the pressure is on at home we tend to buckle too often these days.

Hopefully our lads are getting more used to it so know what to expect and all the nerves are in the Sheffield end as that can transmit to their team as well.

  3. They knew this was always going to be an important game weeks ago so weeks ago they could have said Sheff Wed 4.5k max and that's your lot.

Home fans from database only, then everyone knew what's what.

As said above giving them the whole end creates a massive 'got to be there' vibe and so more and more start trying to get tickets in the home sections or say they are turning up in town anyway regardless of no tickets.

Roll out the away fan red carpet again and create a more encouraging atmosphere for them in a vital game, rank stupidity.

  4. More money straight through the football sieve into the pockets of parasites and average journeymen players.

Wouldn't it be nice if some gave a bit back to fans in the way of subsidised season tickets to boost crowds and keep them away from being remote control supporters.

I think there are more goals in this lad if we can get him running in on goal a bit more but trouble is in our system he does a lot of graft deep instead.

Could very well be a Paul Dickov type if he keeps up the desire, clearly loves being here so that's a plus.

I'll blow my own trumpet on this one 😉

Beat these tossers and we’re there

one thing I will say is the kick off time/day might hinder crowd. I know they’ve sold 7k odd but if it wasn’t changed by sky after yesterdays results which I’m still buzzing off btw 30k at Ewood I reacon

No chance at cat B prices but over 23k would be a fair shout if Sky hadn't ruined it again.

Made up for you and the rest of the Rovers hordes, you deserved that after the debacle in midweek.

I must admit, watching yesterday reminded me so much of Rovers games late 80’s when we were pushing for promotion. The pressure does funny things to teams, you can’t do anything about it as Leeds and Leicester found out this weekend and we found out to our cost many times late 80’s.

Going to Stoke and winning 1 nil with a David Mail penalty after missing about 5 of the last 6 pens, in front of 3500 Rovers fans in a crowd of about 9500 !

    Then off to Sett End...🙂

The youth of today are so stale.

I just watched the video with our players arriving, and didn't like the attitude. No energy, heads down, sad looking, and entering the pitch with hands in pocket.

Welcome to the world of a stepping stone club !

Although to be fair if they were all smiles laughs and jokes they'd be getting stick anyway.

Whatever happens today in terms of the result we need to see a big reaction from Wednesday's debacle and put in a decent performance and be competitive.

I've defended Eustace up to now and up until the  Bristol City game I thought we were improving but that simply wasn't acceptable. Whatever PR spin he puts on it in interviews he needs to have put some rockets up backsides in private and get them fired up.

I wouldn't have Hyam anywhere near the side after Wednesday, he'd be collecting his P45 if it was up to me, it's very easy for the attitude of one bad apple to infect the rest of the squad.

If there is any truth to the rumour they were trying to shift him in Jan perhaps that's why.

Ah, the Ben Marshall 'Undr The Cosh' interview - only listened to it this week!

The level of unprofessionalism during Coyle's era; it's absolutely no shock we went down under him.

I also finally listened to King Rat Bradley Orr's one this week also.
    What a fucking cock end.
'If only the fans knew what was going on behind the scenes...'

We knew more than you did, you big-nosed Scouse prick.
Completely whitewashed all of the Kean stuff and made him out to look like some kind of innocent party 🤮

I committed that sin and the only positive i took from it was he knows how much we detest him.

Happy to point the finger elsewhere but left out a lot of details as to why all that was happening, ie Kean and Anderson who were actively looking to move players out with pay offs after they'd given them a year extension.

All about percentages and Orr clearly speaks from that inner sanctum and he himself got rich from the clubs demise.

    Absolute ####

That's  the big issue. If they do win on Saturday and we lose, they bring some real momentum into the game. they won their last away game 0-2 and assuming they do win, it would then be two wins and a draw from their last 3.

As we know, Rovers have won one under this manager, so why would we give them an even bigger boost by giving them an allocation of 7,000?

Self inflicted this, if it does go the way I fear.

You'd think that might have been taken into consideration in the upper corridors at Ewood especially seeing as recently they've been splitting bigger followings between the bottom corner and the top tier.

They've reduced to Coventry tickets obviously but imo that's on the back of this one subsidising it and that is Waggot all over, rather pointless exercise.

More brains in a pound of mince.

  12. They'll probably beat Stoke at home whilst we getting beat at Leeds so yes they will be well up for it in that case and we are just clinging to hope that the team that has let us down all season can actually show up.

We both lose or draw this weekend then it's nerves all around.

Whatever happens it's a stupid decision to let them pack out the end and hand more backing than necessary to their team and i can't think of another club in the land would do something so stupid.

  13. He's just treading the uber positive nice bloke line again we've seen so many times before and trying to keep everybody onside.

If you can't call a spade a spade and take the players to task over that shower of excrement last night then you won't be going very far.

Another modern player turned coach who is afraid to get tough.

    Think that's wishful thinking Michael!

This is by far the easiest of Leeds' remaining games (others M'brough and an improving QPR away and Saints at home) and after a loss and a draw in their last 2 games, they will be absolutely determined and ruthless in trying to get back on track in what will be a white hot Elland Road (I absolutely hate that ground and its mindless morons).

I really fear for us and if they get an early goal then it could be anything from 5 upwards as goal difference might determine who goes up in the top 2.  They have players capable of ripping us to shreds and inflicting material damage.

I look at our soft boys and think most of them will just shrivel.

This has got horrible - another thrashing on Saturday and then the Owls at Ewood in front of 7,000 of their supporters (will seem like an away match for us) with our confidence in tatters.  Just wtf was Maggot thinking about in letting them have all those tickets - should have restricted them to 1,500 upstairs and tried to fill the stadium with our own fans at £5/ticket; survival is more important than a few extra grand in ticket sales.

What an unbelievable and self inflicted mess we find ourselves in.

They'll say oh we can't do that but then can and have in the past when the club and local plod could be arsed.

4.5k would have been ample for Sheff Wed at normal price with the majority filling the upper tier that would have been the sensible thing to do. Didn't matter in the recent past our teams seemed to love it and it got them up for it but this lot have demonstrated it gives them the wobbles. 2 of the most nervous keepers iv'e ever seen, inexperienced kids and a few pros who are eyeing the door it's another recipe for disaster.

I remain convinced some inside Ewood actually want relegation.

No doubt; Rovers are the Green Bay Packers of the EFL. my only point was, there are clubs elsewhere who have fallen upon tough times, yet, their fanbases are as rabid as ever:  I have no doubt our fans equal the zeal of those I mentioned.

Yep that's the English mentality we love being up against it it's in our DNA although slowly being erased from future generations.

It's why the UK football pyramid is the deepest and best supported in the world from the Prem right down through division after division until you reach Sunday morning Pub league football.

And quite honestly some of those Sunday morning beer monsters deserve people watching more than a lot of the entitled little wankers in the paid ranks.
