Obviously there isn't much budget for the backup keeper.
Be interesting what fee and contract they stretch to. And how they suddenly find money for it.
Less than a million quid for two keepers could turn out a masterstroke or another ' cheaper is better' bollox up.

They’re probably yet to warm to him - very easy to upset the holiday/pal mentality culture here at Rovers.
Exactly, there's a clique down there that probably follows the established pecking order behind the scenes. Bennett will have to give the nod.

If we look at all signings in terms of resale value we'll not get very far.

So basically going off these theories Bournemouth should more or less walk this league and will put 3 past every midtable team ?
It's 11 v 11 and it's not a Premier league team in a cup tie it's one relegated because they weren't good enough to be there. All tough games in this league on their own merit. Everyone can beat each other it's all about getting it right on the day.
Underdogs we were yes, quality they have more yes but we weren't away to Liverpool.

This Word Wide network just wont work with this dinosaur of a manager ... it’s a waste of resources ...
He will go by his list of contacts .. Noticed he comes out with a cup of coffee and once sat on his seat hardly gets up .... getting worse by each match .... just His whole body language comes across as am tired ....
It's likely to take time to bare fruit and its looked like the keeper has come via that so it's up and running at least.
However i totally agree him and the club will go via their usual advisors and supply lines first every time. This is a guy who makes excuses up for a seasoned pro having to travel from Derby. A young player who's relocating from Southampton ( after playing and living in different places anyway) and moaning himself because he's 2 hrs from home during the week !
What's he going to be like when we start plucking guys from various corners of Europe ?

Burton vs rovers 24th February 2017. Mowbray’s first game. Williams, lenihan, mulgrew and nyambe started. The rest of the side is a lot better but in terms of the defence there is pretty much zero progression in 3 years.
Says everything really and you could argue Mulgrew would still be in there had they not fallen out.
Dire way to be so called building a team allegedly to try for promotion at some point when they have form for leaking so many goals. Mowbray has his good points but even his chief tub thumpers can't defend this it's a piss take.
Good guy, weak manager.

Leutweiler played just 6 league games when Raya was at the club - almost all of them shortly after Raya had had his head kicked in. The idea TM preferred him to Raya is complete nonsense.
The idea we had such a shite keeper not even good enough for real back up however isn't.

Probably Evans on just to try and stifle it a bit more and not concede another.
Always still in it just the one behind and losing 4-2 puts a bad slant on it
Typical stuff we've seen time and again from him.

Surprised that anyone is still persisting with their claims that Raya isn't very good.
You better ask Tony.

If he persists like this for 3 more years we will waste a generation of decent youth and end up in an Ipswich/Mick McCarthy situation where we plummet because he's squandered the money we do have on players who are already at their ceiling.
That was me in 'positive' mode.

He's bloody talking about bringing "one or two to help the group" again though I.e. squadfillers as opposed to a couple of stand out performers in the defence.
He'll never change. Either no-one will come in or a couple of peripheral signings will come in who aren't what we need.
If he stays here another 3 years he'll go down in history as the clubs best ever midtable manager.

Very early days but he looked competent on that performance and it's nice to see a keeper rollocking those in front of him. We've not had a remotely vocal keeper since Robinson years ago. Hope he keeps it up and stands up to any cherubs who might not like it.

Yes we had positives. But how is he not concerned about the continuation of dreadful performances in our defence?
Old school stubborness and an unwillingness to upset his behind the scenes pecking order.

Midfield, in fact the whole side back off far too much up the park which really doesn't help the defending. To be fair they looked as ropey as we often do at the back but as you'd expect they are more dangerous coming forwards.
Only real downer was the result and of course the predictability of the usual suspects.

____. 3-2. How is Kaminski looking? As bad as Walton or just facing unstoppable shots?
He's looked decent couldn't do anything about the goals. Defending lax as usual for first 2

Ah bollocks sucker punch by them. Good goal.

Good old stretch ??♂️?️
This season's talisman for sure and no more than we deserve so far.

So Mowbray's taking off our most effective wide man in JRC and continuing with his failed experiment of trying to turn Rothwell into a wide player. Fucking moron.
Oh with all the young players now needing games adding to the usual rotation etc. It's sure to be a season of real fun and games on that score.
-
Very lightweight looking at that bench, no game changers or point savers but aside from when Arma starts on there its been that way since promotion. Another thing that's held us back a bit, oh well it is what it is.
A point or 3 would give us all a great boost going into it.
COYB !

Does nobody with half a mind think the money left from January hasn't been used up in the lockdown ?
Didn't Waggot even say we've about a million in the pot that will go towards helping tide us over ?
Even if not how many budget surplus in normal life gets carried over to the next one in my experience it usually just gets absorbed.
-
If you are paying several good players 15 - 25k pwk, some average on c10k pwk and have quite a few good young players on less than 10k making up your annual football wage bill does that automatically mean you should be worse than other clubs who may be paying a load of bang average players 10 grand per week but have a bigger overal wage bill because their squad is bigger ????
No of course not the wage bill thing outside of the huge payers and those on real peanuts can be misleading. You don't base all your aspirations on that clubs jumble up the natural pecking order all the time. Seems it's replacing FFP now as the go to excuse for going nowhere.
I'll repeat for the umpteenth time how many clubs outside huge turnover clubs in this division could afford to pay Graham, Mulgrew, Evans, Dack, Holtby, Johnson. Or recruit Tosin and Downing ? The wages we pay half the team isn't a natural reflection of it being 16th in the league.

Ditherers with no real plan.

Don't worry when we are in the mid stages of these 7 or 8 games without a win runs it's remarkable how these with only rose tinted glasses alter their views.

Great posts by both Revidge and Paul M, very emotive, both clearly passionate about OUR club.
Lets keep the balance and leave the favoritism to the manager.
