  1. There's a lot of talk about midfielders and defenders, but what about attackers?

I'm resigned to BBD leaving before the window shuts. We can't go into the season reliant on the likes of Dolan, Hedges, Markanday and Vale. All relatively unproven who we can hope have good seasons, but there's no guarantee. We have no idea if Dack will survive the season either. I'm expecting big things from Gallagher, but he can't be our main striker.

We saw what happened in January when BBD's goals dried up and Dack was injured again. Zero threat up front and long periods without scoring.

  2. Good to see quite a few of the youngsters get some minutes. Don’t think any of them looked out of place against a strong Celtic side.

At least the future looks bright for us as far as the academy is concerned.

I like the look of Hedges, he works really hard for the team. Don’t think he’ll pull up any trees this season, but good player to have in the squad.

Haven't watched it but sounds like we've on got a makeshift right back, and out of sorts left back, and we are not providing sufficient cover for them.

Pretty much sums it up. We’re playing 2 full backs out of their depth with no one in front of them as we’re playing a formation with 4 strikers.

Not a great half for rovers, but we won’t be up against this quality in the championship.

Ayala, Buckley probably our best so far. Neither flank doing well and not much service for the attackers to work with.

Attackers were linking up pretty well towards the end of that half, but with Gallagher looking the best of the bunch we definitely need more quality options brought in. Can’t be starting the season with Vale and Dolan as first choice and BBD likely to leave.

A bit harsh to criticise Carter today I think. A CB having to play RB due to our lack of players in that position and up against a Premiership level winger

Carter is a good option to have on the bench especially with Ayala’s injury record. Don’t think he should be starting at the moment though.

  6. I think everyone has been in agreement after the latest death spiral that we don’t want Mowbray to continue as manager and need someone better in.

I’m wondering though what people think about the idea of Mowbray staying but in some sort of Director of Football role instead?

I know people have questioned some of his signings in the past, but I think he’s actually been really successful in both the loan market and transfer market and has brought through a number of academy players into the first team as well.

  7. Last home game of the season. If the boys can’t put a shift in for this one and win then we certainly don’t deserve to be in the playoffs, much less win them.

Bournemouth have a massive game against Forest 3 days later, so I’m hoping their heads aren’t in it for the game with us.

If anything it’s an exciting end to the Championship season, with everything still to play for.
