We need a morale-boosting last minute win here.
Who wants to be the hero?

Giles looks out of sorts on the right side. Why he’s on the right and Gallagher is on the left is a mystery
Absolutely mystifying...
Gallagher and Giles have been pretty ineffectual up front. Dolan and Vale to come on for me. I don't think we need both Pickering and Giles playing, either one or the other at LWB.

I'm normally pretty defensive of Gally, but this is one of the worst performances from him I've seen.
Should be absolutely burying that chance.

Van Hecke has let nothing past him today. We need to make him a permanent signing.
Zeefuik has also been excellent since coming on IMO.
Goal is a massive relief, but we need to start putting away some of those chances from open play if we want promotion.

We really can't score can we?

How many chances!?!?

Jesus our set pieces suck..

QPR don't look up for it here. If we can't win today then we're in real trouble.
-
Can’t see where the goals are coming from. Didn’t even realise Buckley was playing, Khadra largely anonymous as well. Gallagher needs to step it up here.
Good news is that Sheff Utd are just as poor as us. They’d be there for the taking if we just had someone who could score.

I said after the Luton game that we need to survive the next 7 games and that’s proving to be the case.
If we can finish on 60 points after the next 4 we should be in okay position to get into the playoffs.
We traditionally pick up form at the end of the season and we have a reasonably easy run of games in our last 10. I’m hoping with players returning we get a return to form as well and I think we can still scrape by.
Next 4 games are vital though. We have to pick up 3 points at Millwall to stay with the pack and can’t afford to drop points to both QPR and Sheff Utd.

Buckley did nothing all game, completely anonymous. As soon as he wakes up we actually start looking good again.
-
Hook JRC off before he gets another yellow or concedes a goal.

Does anyone remember how to score?
Poor game between two out of form teams trying to figure out what to do with the ball.

46 crosses to 1 - they scored from theirs
It’s a fuckn joke isn’t it? Our only tactic was to cross it but to absolutely no one .
Its like we’ve forgotten what actually makes us a good side.

I’ve switched off the stream now. I just watched us lump it into the box about a dozen times with zero conviction or creativity. What are we doing here?

Prediction - Buckley to get sent off.
He needs to be subbed early.

Buckley should stay in the changing room, he's hopless tonight. Passing is off, touch is non existent and shooting... well.
Can't have the key player in this formation be so off form.
I’m not convinced by Buckley in the false 9 role at all. He was at his best for us when he was playing deeper, where he was more active defensively and focused on making the right pass. He’s not much of a goal scorer though and we have very little threat with him in the middle.
Really need to consider where his place in the team should be to get the most out of him.

Pretty hopeless so far.
Brereton on for Zeefuik and move Giles to LWB. Doesn’t help when we play people out of position.
I don’t think we have anything to fear here. We can come back from this if the desire is there.

Highlights why we needed a striker to come in during January. So difficult seeing where the goals are coming from there.
Rothwell.
Otherwise, hold on until second half and bring BBD and Khadra on to win it.
-
Back to back hat tricks for Vale. Surely he must be knocking on the first team door to at least get the chance off the bench?
Will we see him before the end of the season?

This feels like a huge game.
If we can move 4 points clear of the playoffs it really puts the pressure on Bournemouth (and QPR) to avoid slip ups.Hopefully close to a full strength side again.
We need to survive the next 7 games.
Minimum 7 points required to stay within the chasing pack.
3 points at Swansea will be a great start! This sort of game suits us and I think we should be able to get a win even with a weakened squad.
Only concern is with new players coming into the side and all the expectation that comes with it, we might end up with a disjointed performance.

How is it that scumbag Lockyer has escaped retrospective punishment for his elbow on Gallagher? The guy’s been coughing up blood and now missing the Swansea game.
Outside a football pitch that would be considered assault. Given our injury problems already I’m absolutely furious at this.

I think we’ve made 3 top signings in this window in Giles, Zeefuik and Markanday. It’s unfortunate Markanday has been injured though. I don’t know much about Hedges so will reserve judgment until I see more of him.
Did any club make better signings than us? Bournemouth, Stoke and Boro are the only ones that have arguably had better windows.

Giles is a very, very good signing. 3rd most assists in the league this season in a poor Cardiff side.
Giles and Zefuik are quality wing backs in this league.

JRC has been excellent today. He's been pretty poor since coming back, but a good game from him today in the absence of Nyambe and Zeefuik.
