Ok. I'll be honest, usually I'll trawl through the pages to see what has & hasn't been said , but 100% the blame lies with Mowbray. We had a midfielder there in Buckley on a yellow & on a warning after that,  so essentially started the 2nd half with 10 men.  Not having a go at Buckley  but the lad new he couldn't risk going for a challenge.

Said to all around me at HT, Take him off & bring Johnson or Davenport on. But no, bellendinho, waits until they got a goal back to make the change! Incompetence at it's absolutely best. Yes, gally was ultimately at fault but TM is a grade A absolute wankshaft!

I'm no football management expert but come on! This is the basics!!!

I posted the same at half time. Buckley should have been taken off as he was being targeted by Coventry and was shirking out of challenges since he was on a yellow.

Tbf to Mowbray, his subs did change the game back into our favour again but they came too late. One of my biggest qualms with Mowbray is he makes subs too late and it's cost us a lot of points in the past.

Sad to say, but I think the crowd numbers affected our performance. All you could hear was the Coventry fans in the second half and the were spurred on to get back into the game on the back of that, while we started to lose our nerve.

It feels like this team could actually finish in the playoff places this season, but if the fans can't unite behind (or despite) the manager/owners I don't see it happening.

Bet they’re regretting not going right about now 👍

Personally I don't get it. I'm stuck in the world's most locked down city unable to even leave my apartment without a mask. I would love to have the chance to go down to Ewood to see this team potentially break into the top 6 again.

If it's just a matter of ticket prices or people struggling financially at the minute then I understand, but otherwise why not get out there to support your team?

So what does Ben Brereton Díaz want?

Does he WANT to continue playing for Blackburn at all, regardless of whatever contract he is offered, or does he want to move on to another club?  I'm only asking because I don't know.  Maybe someone here does.

I don't mean to be overly dramatic, but one thing that needs to be considered is that the Ben Brereton of May 2021 is not the same man, let alone player, that he is now in October 2021.  He is a new man and a new player.  His rebranding of himself as Ben Brereton Díaz now is proof of that and indicates to me that the player also thinks of himself differently too.

Up until this northern hemisphere summer (Copa América is played in winter from a southern perspective) he was just a young man from somewhere in England struggling to make it.  Now he has been catapulted to international fame as the entire Spanish [and Portuguese] speaking football world knows who Brereton Díaz is, not because he is a novelty anymore but because he scores goals and is a DIFFERENT player.  The consensus is that his value is going up and up for every ball he touches when he plays for Chile and his exploits for Blackburn Rovers as Brereton Díaz have not gone unnoticed.  He has also put Blackburn Rovers on the South American map, as only the Premiere League is followed by most.

Would someone whose professional and personal life (general good fortune) have changed so much in 6 months want to continue playing for the same team as Brereton or does Brereton Díaz want a new team to go with his new identity?  Regardless of what he has done in the past, he is having a wonderful present.

I would love to know what you, who have known him so long, think HE would want to do.

I have no idea what he would want to do but staying at Rovers and taking the former Premier League champions back to where they belong after over a decade absence would be some story and only add to the growing legend of Brereton Diaz!

  4. Lenihan and Nyambe have both been at the club for 10+ years. They've had at least 5 senior campaigns with us in that time. I love both players and would happily have them stay at the club to the end of their careers, but they both have a history of being injury prone and if they are offered better opportunities elsewhere that they want to take in the future then all the best to them.

It's a bit ridiculous to suggest that the management of the club is driving us to lose them when they've been here this long.

Rothwell looks to be on the radar of clubs like Rangers with who he'd be playing in Europe. He's given us 3 good seasons, and now into his 4th with us - if he has offers from higher up the footballing pyramid you can't really fault anyone for that.

  5. I find it absolutely incredible people are looking at the likes of Portsmouth, Bolton & Wigan in envy.

I would never want to trade our fantastic team of academy graduates and young breakthrough strikers like Brero, Gally & Dolan for their teams of journeymen. Bolton have Rovers' rejects Delfonueso and Baptiste playing for them for god's sake.

Wigan have been yo-yoing between the Championship and League One for years, their highest finish in the Championship since the 1st season has been 18th.

  6. Carter in for Lenihan is the least worrying of the forced changes we're going to have to make today.

Replacing Nyambe and Rothwell is going to make us singificantly weaker. I don't think Magloire and Clarkson should be anywhere near the first 11 right now, as they both have shown they're not at the required level yet. If Johnson is fit, would like him to come in for Travis and Travis moved to RB, with Edun coming in for Rothwell in midfield.
