  1. Turbonegro Three good albums: 1. Ass Cobra 2. Apocalypse Dudes 3. Scandinavian Leather This is the worlds best rock band right here.
  2. He's old, fat, lazy, slow and Spanish to boot! We have to give him time to settle and get his fitness up I reckon.
  3. Yeah, and you deserve a prize for your lack of faith in the lad. Impressive writeoff!
  4. Give the lad time. I hope he plays in the early cup rounds, and a few reserve games maybe. He certainly needs to get not only his own confidence in order, but also the respect of his teammates.
  5. Yes they do own it, however I don't know how it works exactly.
  6. I don't know. Sounds a bit pessimistic to me. Are we really that deep in? I mean, one win and we could be in midtable. On sunday we might be 13th. Fair enough a few players need to get their confidence back, but I seem to remember a poll/topic concerning the quality of our squad this season concluding that it was the best for a long time. 17th would be surprising to me, anyway. I expect us to finish no lower than last seasons 15th. We cannot possibly be that poor at home for another season.
  7. I haven't read the tread, but looking at the poll it doesn't look very negative to me. Almost 85% are in favour of the appointment, with 10% being undecided. That only leaves about 5% of the voters unhappy with the appointment. I'm sure we can all take some poitives from those figures!
  8. I'm sure 50% of the people that read this won't see anything wrong with that sentence.
  9. I would expect a lineup like Stead Dickov De P Tugay Barry Emerton Gray Matteo Amoruso Neill Friedel Subs: Encks, Short, MGP, Bothroyd, Flitcroft I would like to see Bothroyd Stead De P Tugay Barry Thompson Gray Short Johansson Emerton Friedel Subs: Encks, Todd, Jansen, Dickov, MGP Todd of course is probably not 100% fit, dunno about Thommo. And if Gally was fit he would start every game.
  10. But he already had plenty of experience, not only in the English top division, but from elsewhere as well. I'm just trying to justify the signing of a manager with so little experience, mostly the point about lacking experience in this division. For USABlue that is. I'm happy with the appointment myself.
  11. Sooner or later, surely we will succeed with our appointment of a manager with no Premiership management experience, having failed so many times before (Kidd, Hodgson, Harford etc..)?
  12. He's from Finland Sidders cuidado, jeg ville sluttet å forsvare ham, det nytter ikke. Gi han tid, og disse folkene også, så slipper du (og alle andre) samme regla om igjen og om igjen
  13. That is probably the situation at present. With the key words being that he has agreed to sign. I fully expect all the formalities to be out of the way tomorrow.
  14. It's done and dusted like Jim said hours ago. I just wish I had put that £500 on Hughes @ 1.72 about 3 hours ago, but didn't have the courage to... Anyway, I'm happy with Hughes. He would be my second favourite behind Dowie (yes, I've woke up from that hazy misty condition which led med to think that Houllier would be an option!), so overall I'm pleased. Welcome aboard Sparky!
  15. These are just nominations. The actual voting starts when all the nominations are in. There will be a poll in place.
  16. Just thought I'd fill you in on the missing appearance figures and years: Henning Berg: (second spell, including the loan) 8th sep 2000 - 6th aug 2003 Total apps: (both spells) 244 league, 44 cup (inc euro) Jeff Kenna: left 1st feb 2002, 154 league, 37 cup Lucas Neill: 98 league apps to date, 18 cup I think those will be games started btw, for all 3 players. If that is the case then these are the apps where they were substituted in: 6(1), 2(2), 3, respectively. Stats from Soccerbase.
  17. Not at all happy about Bryan Robson, but then again, how much damage can he do if he's here in an assistant manager role?! The man probably has something to offer an up and coming manager in terms of experience. I'd still prefer Iain Dowie with his fitness coach, but Mark Hughes would also be good. And lets get John Carver in as a coach please. One thing is for certain, someone has to come in before the weekend. Let's hope these rumours are in some way confirmed tomorrow.
  18. No new manager == certain loss. I do have a feeling that Stead will get his first goal of the season though, so at least one for us then. 2 or more for them.
  19. I certainly found it interesting to know he's got what must be an extreme stamina. It is a relevant piece of information in terms of what we can expect to see from him, but it's obviously no indication of his skill level, nor was it ever meant to be.
  20. Don't forget he has only trained with his new teammates 3 times so far. I'm sure he will improve when he gets to know the players, the club, and a new manager.
  21. That's w4 d2 l4 if I'm not mistaken. Not bad, not very good.
  22. Well the players are a bit older than 13 though, no offence but if your are going by a persons looks, I'd imagine you to be about that age.... In any case why should his looks count against him now if he's done so well in the past? You're running thin on arguments now..
  23. I must admit if what you say is true, this man sounds like a genius. Motivation is of course incredibly important in football. You've managed to make this sound like the best option to me now. I'd be happy if we give him the chance.
  24. Finally something of interest! Congrats. As for the previous 56 pages .... YAWN ...
