That is a pretty ridiculous rumour. For one I doubt Hughes would tell ANYONE at all about who he does not rate. What good does it do the management team to discuss who they don't rate? Surely they will talk about the players they see something positive in, instead of taking the negative approach? Secondly; If anything he only talks to those closest to him about these things. At this point, I doubt anyone outside the management team are privvy to such information. He hasn't exactly been here long enough to run the rule over all the youth and reserve player properly anyway. Red herring.

Don't you know, about 68% of all statistics are made up? At the rate we are scoring, 1 for us at most. I have no idea how many they will score. But it will be at least 1.

Norway 3 - 0 Slovenia Gamst Pedersen started the game, set up the first goal with a sublime throughball, then scored the 2-0 goal himself. Was substituted when there was 15 mins left, after getting an elbow to his head. Thought he was good today - one of the best players on the pitch.

IMO England have a very good team now and should be creating more clean cut chances. Wales defended well and with the players at their disposal was a good game by them I thought. A bit worrying with the defensive approach Hughes has to the game, although that maybe would be different with another set of players.

He didnt blast it, he tried to chip, but failed miserable. No confidence, I thought he was poor the whole time he was on. Gamst and Andresen are two players struggling in their club sides (both incidentally battling relegation), and I thought it was a charitable act of Hareide to bring them on - they didn't add much to the game. And for the record, that save on the goalline was never in, partly or otherwise. No chance. I saw it about 28 times from the comfort of my livingroom, from about 120 cm away.

Sounds like a good move to me. 1 month up north to get match fit, thats if he gets played of course. On the other hand, Mark Hughes probably hasn't seen much of him, so to expect him to chuck Gally in when he comes bakc match fit is perhaps too much to ask.

I thought Hughes completely failed with the subs. Tugay didn't find the openings as was intended but I can see what he was thinking. Bothroyd was terrible. Ok he has great technique but what does that help if he can't put it to good use? Oh and please lets have Gally and Gamst on the pitch next time. And Nissa, or Todd, or Short! Anyone but Matteo!

So, based on tonights game (and previous impressions), the following are not fit to wear the shirt, in some way or another: Johansson (patience is up) Gresko (he's just never going to regain the form he had the first time around) Douglas (had enough chances yet?) De Pedro (will he ever adjust to the Prem?) And just about scraping by are: Amoruso (despite his obvious qualities we cant afford to have him in defense) Bothroyd (selfish, but showing positive signs) Jansen (judges are definitely still out, and will be for a long time) Neill (must learn to compensate for lack of defensive skills, or something) Tugay (too old? maybe he just needs to find form) I'm prepared to be patient with Bothroyd, Jansen and Neill (why Neill I wonder?), but we should replace the rest. That is the task at hand for the new management IMO. And get a fitness coach in who knows what is required at top level football. OK its a very drastic post, but I was seriously disappointed by tonights result.

All you have to do is look at the number of games, you can see that Boro must have missed about 3 seasons since the Premier League started. We've missed two, and if we hadn't we might easily have been 5th (50pts in both seasons). Its nice reading anyway. I can't see us dropping down that table either, for a long time (unless we get relegated again). Chances are we will move up, now that Leeds are down and Souness is in charge of Newcastle! Would love to see a similar table spanning the history of the football league.
