  1. If all you do on internet messageboards is tell everyone what you don't like and don't want to read about then go somewhere else and do it. What interests me has nothing to do with it, nor does the freedom of speech. How about trying to maintain some sort of a decent atmosphere and contribute something at least faintly meaningful? Stop being silly now and get back on topic.
  2. This is the good thing about the internet that some people seem to have missed - you can CHOOSE what interests you and you want to read about. The topic title should be enough of an indicator as to the content of this thread - don't seem interesting? Don't read it, and certainly don't comment on how uninteresting it is to you. [/rant]
  3. It's all in installments, not much much is actually changing hands up front. But in total it COULD amount to more than ?8 mill I think. Based on appearances and whatnot.
  4. Don't Accy Stanley have Nike? Surely if they can, so can we.
  5. How about removing the post count from the forums? If people really care about it they can see it in the persons profile.
  6. Clare, you dont need a plugin to open new links in a new tab afaik. Just go into options, and under advanced it is the third heading from the top. Set that to open any links from other programs in a new tab in the current window.
  7. You need to open a new tab first, scouser. Do this by typing Ctrl+T. You can also open any links in a new tab by holding Ctrl down while clicking on a link.
  8. I think you'll find it is Southampton who are rock bottom. Even before todays game. They are doomed. 4 teams fighting for 17th, but only Norwich or Palace will have a chance of getting it.
  9. I don't think he's coming. He's been dead for a while, you know. And in a dead boring game we will gain 1 point and no goals.
  10. Agree wholeheartedly about not applying for the Intertoto cup. We could qualify as the 7th team for the UEFA cup, but I won't hope for that until we have at least beaten Chity. Either way, its not like we are going to take 6 points from the two trips to Burminum.
  11. Unfortunately I dont think the interview ever happened.
  12. Theres no condoning what happened today but bloody hell did they have reason to be mad! Effing AC Merk... The luckiest team in Europe by some distance.
  13. No point selling him unless we get a better replacement, and although Eddie can't think of one I'm sure our scouting network and all the profit hungry agents around the world would be able to find one. But he has played some part in us only letting in 7 goals in the last 17 league games (isnt that right?), so credit to him for that. Still think he's average and positional sense is still lacking.
  14. I'd prefer Slazenger. Lonsdale is a bit chav...
  15. Great result! A bit lucky first half, definitely. But we had a lot of the ball from about 10-20 mins of the first half and were much better second half defensively. What I thought of the players: Friedel - Excellent, close to 2002 edition superbrad Neill - solid game, no complaints. Matteo - also did well (for him), still cant pass apart from an exquisite lob pass to a player in offside! A bit heavy but better than usual. Nelsen - The Admiral. Todd - Solid game again. Kept his cool at all times, and cleared up after himself when he almost gave the ball away a couple of times. Had one of Rovers' best chances in the game. Mokoena - Excellent. Best I've seen him for Rovers so far, perfect for this role. Did he get injured? Nasty challenge by Keane nearly snapped his ankle. Thompson - terrrible first half, better second half, a slight glimpse of what he can do but largely disappointing. He did run quite a bit actually. Flitcroft - Quite invisible, but didn't put a foot wrong as far as I could see. Quiet but effective. Reid - Excellent. Our biggest threat going forward and solid distribution/tackling. Energizer bunny. Won a shedload of free kicks for us too. Pedersen - Quiet game but as usual where it happened. Good clearance off the line and a couple of half chances. Not good enough though. Stead - Clearly has more confidence, but not enough. Couldnt hold on to the ball, and too weak. His shots were tame. No doubting he is our best striker after Dickov though..... Gallagher - lightweight, invisible. Nothing positive to say really... Emerton - No better than Thommo, apart from one good cross that Stead should have at least hit the target from.
  16. Great interview there Paul! I'm hoping for a good 0-0 draw. But it will be very tough. Rooney will probably score...
  17. Oi watch it you'll get SAR on your back. This game just showed everything that is lacking upfront for us. We just dont know when we get near their box.
  18. Excellent as usual Mark. The board seems pretty unified in what we are trying to achieve at the moment, what with our attacking shortcomings, and we all appreciate the performances for what they are - defensively very impressive. I feel the Arse will have to work hard to get more than a point from us on saturday. Once again I will be able to witness the mighty Rovers live (on TV), and it will be a pleasure no matter what non-rovers might think of our current style of play.
  19. Believe it or not, I think your comments are a fair reflection on what I thought of the game. MGP had a bad day, mostly on set pieces, but quiet othewise too. We did very well defensively and I will be happy to see us play like this for the rest of the season. I've got this strange dream/fantasy/wish that it is all a part of Sparkys grand masterplan: sort out the defense first, make us impossible (well, nearly) to beat, then next season lay down the hard work in getting the offesive part of our play working. If only that were the case, he'd be the ultimate genius! Oh and has anyone started taking bets for the league next season? My money is on Manure and Chelski in a two horse race for the title with the scum winning it in the last game I shall refer to this post in may 2006...
  20. Far canal! I cannot believe the optimism on here. We created about 3 chances against Leicester at home, scoring only from a penalty, and so far pretty much everyone is thinking we will get something at Anfield. I can't really see where the goal is going to come from. At best a 0-0 draw unless Tugay has a good game. However I don't even think he will play. We are still seriously lacking in the attacking department.
  21. Gav gets my vote. Clearly he is desperate to go. Debs seems to be able to live with not having been there. Thats the impression I get anyway.
  22. Can we please stick to the subject and cut the personal insults? The judges are still very much out on Savage, in no way has he proved himself to me yet. Try to accept the fact that other people have a different opinion to yourself without having to slag them off.
