  1. From the Daily Record-----"Kean also kept Blackburn up on the last day of the season after replacing Sam Allardyce in Dec 2010"

    !!!!!!!!!WTF?

It's just bone idle, lazy journalism. These myths were perpetuated by his spin machine and idle journalists just believe it. I would love for some English club to take a punt on the c*** and watch him gloriously fail.

  2. Mahoney needs to have a crack - can hardly do any worse than Taylor has on the flank the past couple of games. He seems to have two good feet, a trick or two, and most importantly, a goal or two in him.

However, I doubt that our former academy manager will blood any of our youngsters.

Bowyer answered your question only recently.

  3. for me, both Tomlinson and Mahoney should be around the first team/subs.

Need a manager who will play the academy players

I might be wrong but I seem to recall a debate I had with you where you said you wouldn't have any of the younger players in the first team squad. I think Nyambe was at the heart of the discussion. What has changed your mind?

Apologies if it wasn't you as my memory isn't what it used to be.

  4. He was perfect for us at the time and allowed us to be proud of our club again with his achievements. Hopefully he has already met up with his great friend Mick Heaton and they are sharing great memories.

  5. Unless you have the cash to make the Indians an offer they can't refuse I don't see how you change it. The bottom line is that we need someone with wealth to prop the club up because of the infrastructure that Jack built up. If we didn't we simply couldn't maintain what Jack left us, let alone try to move forward. However, I totally agree that they have brought about our downfall through gross mismanagement. At the moment we are between a rock and a hard place and whatever we do from here one suspects that the outcome isn't going to be great.

I agree and not having a clue what is going to happen and feeling helpless is the real worry and source of frustration. I think that the longer they take this stance and keep the current incumbents at Ewood the fall will be much harder.

  6. Let's be honest Gavlar, when you've watched the club when it was bottom of Division Three, you know that it could always be worse! There are many ways it could always be worse.

And with a shrug of the shoulders we accept this? I could agree with you if it hadn't been for wholly avoidable situation we find ourselves in through gross mismanagement.

And I have watched the club at the bottom of the old Division Three and I certainly don't want to go back there.

  7. In a normal world yes i would agree. However, we live in Venky's world. The only managerial appointment they have got right so far is appointing Bowyer, who without, we would already be in League 1. The other three managers have been nothing short of diasterous (although i think Berg could have worked out)

I don't agree with the without Bowyer we would be in League One bit. That spell he had turned on a penalty we were awarded at Millwall which, frankly was never a penalty. He is quite often painted as some kind of magician for saving us. Well I was at the Watford game immediately before the Millwall win and that was probably the worst performance from a Rovers team that I can remember. He bemoans our luck now but he certainly got lucky at Millwall.

  8. I too felt we would be in trouble this year, but changing manager wont make a blind bit of difference. A change of ownership is needed.

If we get a new manager, he wont be able to sign anyone on over £10k in January. That is chronically pathetic by board/owners.

Surely we have to deal with the immediate problem which is the position we are in. This is what needs fixing in the short term and this can only come about with a change of manager. I firmly believe a new manager could massively improve the squad simply by organising us, setting us up correctly for each game and picking the best team.

I wholeheartedly agree we need other massive off the field changes but that will take a lot longer. Blackburn Rovers in League One would be disastrous.

  9. This weeks stooge is Tommy Spurr. He thinks we deserve to be in the top 6 already.

The, hopefully temporarily, deluded Spurr says Were all behind him and were all buying into what him and his staff are trying to do'' - why is it we are never actually told what it is that they are trying to do. That broad statement does my feckin head in.

    http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/13635821.Tommy_Spurr__Players_are_right_behind_Blackburn_Rovers_boss_Gary__Bowyer/?ref=mac

I assume Myers writes the scripts for the players and that's why he's too busy fire fighting to communicate outside of Ewood

Ifs, buts and maybes. There is no column on the table for being unlucky. The most important column tells me we have three points from a possible fifteen.

I wonder what excuse they will come out with at the end of October when we are cut adrift.

  10. There are worse teams on paper than us but they aren't saddled with this shambles of a club which just crawls along like a rudderless ship. Unless the club gets sorted I think we'll go down because there is no one who can stop it happening.

And if it got down to a real scrap who would you want as your manager? The likes of Lennon and Evans or Boreyer?

  11. It is but have a relegation thread is a bit silly isn't it?

IF Rhodes stays, I think he'll score more, if he leaves I think we will get someone in who can score a few, also Koita looks like he might be pretty good. As good as JR and Rudy were last season, it's a team game and we have finished 8th and 9th, not good enough but not awful. I think quite a few of the players are decent and after 2+ years the problem is the manager.

The BIGGEST factor against us getting relegated is that although we might be poor so is the league and there are 6 or 7 worse teams minimum.

I think most people are speculating we will get relegated because of the manager.

I honestly don't know who we could bring in to replace Rhodes given our spending limitations. Every manager in the league is looking for a 20+ striker.

  12. Even if Rhodes goes there's no way we are going down, I don't even think we'd be in a relegation fight. We lost to Wolves but we played well enough to draw and with a bit better from the officials we might have won.

What's most frustrating about the team is that individually we have quite a few good players.

If Rhodes scores his 20+ goals again where are the other goals going to come from? Having to score two or three a game to win will be the norm this season and we just don't have the capability.

  13. After the tribulations of watching Rovers this season I have been given some optimism for the future but we need to see some of the younger players getting some game time for the first team. Nyambe looks ready now and Hardcastle showed us something we don't have in the first team squad namely a box to box midfielder. Bauress looked solid as a defensive midfielder.

  14. Sure we concede experience amongst other things to Southampton, but these guys have gone a bit over the top. "Doing well to still be in the game with 20 minutes left" being just one example.

Just so thankful they haven't steamrollered us this lot.....

Is the guy with Le Tissier drunk? He seems unsteady on his feet and slurring his words. I sincerely hope some of these lads get some game time for Bowyers first team before the season ends.

  15. the game ended nil nil.

Raya was the busiest of the keeper with making 2 or 3 good saves in the second half.

Green played up front with Mahoney(wide left) and Rittenberg(wide right) in 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation.

Green went off after 35 minutes with a hamstring injury. and was replaced with Lee Mansell. Was very impressed with his ability to hold the ball and his strength plus his work rate.

Mahoney had 3 or 4 good runs at the Southampton's right back Mugabi. In my opinion, we didn't get the ball enough to him during the game. Mahoney has the ability but needs more influence on the game.

was also impressed with Thomson(centre midfield), Nyambe(right back) and Lavelle(centre back).

enjoyed the game and they was some Southampton fans who attended the game aswell

Any good enough for the first team in your opinion Chaddy?

  16. I haven't seen much of the Under 21's this season but I spoken to a couple of people who attend the games.

but the only way we will ever know if they are good enough for the first team is by given them first team action.

I know Lenihan was very good during his loan spell at Burton.

I don't watch the U21 games either but all I can put Bowyer's reluctance to play them is fear. Yesterday would have been ideal to put a couple in the side and have a look at them. Instead we have a two loan players and several out of contract players in who possibly won't be with us next season. This is the same fear that has cost us many points over the last two seasons.

  17. Don't think it's Dan clough, but that particular Dan (Briggs, I think) on RR usually gives his views after the game and tbh usually calls a spade a spade unlike the other two

He is a knowledgeable young man who loves Rovers and I have sat with him at a couple of away games. He calls it as he sees it which must irk the rest of the crew.

  18. On line rumour mongering and ITK ing is just the modern version of telling the bloke in the chippy that your sister's boyfriend's mate saw Ray Wilkins looking at a house in Wilpshire. You should take it with a pinch of salt.

Reading the posts on this topic clearly people don't.

  19. Before this board goes into meltdown , the owners have spoken to a number of people in recent weeks over board positions and roles . At present none of these have been appointed .

I cannot see Ali being appointed unless approved by Gary Bowyer .

I'm not sure what role he would be given , but surely it would just be in a coaching capacity ?

For now id just treat it as a rumour unless something more cast iron transpires

With respect you should have kept 'the rumour' to yourself. You know as well as anybody the anguish these rumours can cause.
