I'm a bit loath to discuss new managers whilst JDT is still technically in situ but I'm not overly excited by the prospect of Eustace. Quite a few Birmingham fans on Talksport seemed to think they'd peaked and were well on the decline long before Rooney came in. The general consensus as well was that the style of play was very boring.
All that said, I bet we're a very long way off appointing ANY of the names we're currently linked with. Do you think any of them are fully aware of the financial situation?
Or are they just looking at the table and thinking, "Blackburn have dropped off a bit, I bet I can turn that round!"

I'd be making sure I got cash up front for the hotel bill before I agreed to stay for any length of time!

Wouldn't be at all surprised if an unwilling JDT is still in the dug out Saturday. What a surreal experience that would be for supporters and players alike.

The worm had started to turn yesterday with the Maguire news unfolding, coupled with the info that realistically only IS and SW would have access to the EFL registration portal.
Not being funny but is it beyond the realms of possibility that one of those two could have given the password to another member of staff?
Or do they have to go through fingerprint and retinal scanning James Bond style to log in?

Why doesn't Nixon name "the other two who want it"?
Unless he does it's completely meaningless!

Not had chance to follow it today, so apologies if mentioned elsewhere, where is JDT ?
Left, on gardening leave, or still at the Club taking training etc?

Actually ....admitting in public the Club put no pressure on results might be up there as well.....
and putting out a statement the other weekthat we were financially secure without the Wharton money might turn out to be one of his biggest whoppers if not fuck ups.

What do folk reckon are waggotts top 5 fuck ups since being at rovers.
Putting up prices by up to 25% during a pandemic for a season where no-one could attend and reducing the season ticket base by 70%.
The underhand and eventually aborted attempt to flog off Brockhall.
Failing to tie down the likes of Brereton/Rothwell/Nyambe/Lenihan
O Brien plus embarking on an appeal we had no chance of winning.

Who went last January exactly??
I am the one accused of re-writing history by a JDT fan boy (sorry, I didn't notice the name)...but I seem to recollect us wobbling around the Burnley game, then Preston...being really indifferent for a couple of months...then not winning for 9 games at the end of the season and finally winning on the last game when it was out of our hands.
That has been rewritten as a success by some on here. Not winning in 9 games and missing out on the playoffs on goal difference after being in the top 6 for months.
We failed. He failed. He achieved nothing more than Gary Bowyer. He is a sulky bottler who has himself, rather than us, at heart.
But you could say EXACTLY the same about Mowbray couldn't you?
Gallagher at RB for 10 mins then subbing him?

Its quite incredible considering all that is going on that so many seem keen to repeatedly mention Mowbray.
I note you aren't jumping down those posters' throats because they're blaming someone else (JDT) for our demise other than the owners!

Second half of the previous 3 league seasons (+ this one to date)
20/21 25 points (18th in form table)
21/22 27 points (19th)
22/23 30 points (13th)
23/24 2 points from 6 games (24th)
What else do you expect at a Club "with no pressure on results?"

He left a squad which finished 8th then 7th, where are we now less than 12 months later?
My God, we have fallen off a cliff.
The "squad" he left was minus half a team, Nyambe, Lenihan Rothwell and loanees JPVH and Khedra.
You must be on a wind up.

The only silver lining you might take from this is that as Suhail wasn't there the meeting might have happened without the consent of either him or the owners, the players complain and he gets his marching orders.
Clutching at straw I know but straws would appear to be all we have at the moment.

Mowbray was a very good appointment. He just ran his course.
Yeah - after promotion from League 1.

Going back to JDT - it sort of pales into insignificance a bit given the Club's entire future is on the line and the head coach may be about to walk out - but we still have the little matter to attend to of winning enough points this season to stay up.
The players can't be expected to perform to their full potential if they don't know if the Coach is fully committed or if he's staying or going. Either we need to know whether he's staying until end of season at least or going and being replaced and that needs to be done and dusted before the next match.

Ultimately I decided to go so that I could say my piece and I feel like I did do. Between me and Glen we made it abundantly clear what the problems at this club were and who is at fault… in our opinion, of course.
Don't blame you for going as you didn't know what was transpiring but ultimately the only effect of the meeting as far as I can see it is that the fans will now view the players (with some justification) as a bunch of slapped arses and the players having been told some home truths about the ownership will be even more demoralised than they were before and wondering how they've ended up here at such a dysfunctional Club.
And that's before you take into account they don't even know whether or not the Coach is going to walk out in disgust.
If Waggott was hoping this meeting would provide a bridge with the fans and have some sort of galvanising effect he's even more stupid than he appears. If he was hoping to drive a further wedge between players and fans, this should do it perfectly.
Did anyone have the courage ( despite all the other problems you listed) to stand up and say the players were being a bit precious complaining about the atmosphere when we were losing match after match after match?

Don't really understand the reasoning in that post. Waggott's reason was that Wharton didn't want the move? Isn't that the whole point of paying a loyalty bonus - if he's sold against his will and hasn't asked for a transfer?
Presume that's a typo, and he meant to put that Waggott's reasoning is that he was claiming Adam DID want the move.
So guilt tripping him out of the Club by saying we'd be in peril if he didn't go, then trying to swindle him out of a loyalty bonus to which he was contractually entitled.
Just the sort of conduct you'd expect from a classy operator like Waggott.

Seem to remember there was a similar scene in "The Damned United".
Obviously, didn't end well for Cloughie.
That was a meeting between Don Revie's senior players and the Chairman. They hung Cloughie out to dry.
Not a meeting where the fans were present as well.
Just when you think you couldn't see yet another new low under this regime up it pops!
WTF was Waggott thinking? Look at the reaction of the players! And who could blame them!
Venky's /Waggott/Broughton out!
Instead it looks like we're going to lose the one member of senior management with a shred of integrity instead.

Without being the meeting, it's difficult to work out how the discussion between fans and players unfolded, so I'm open-minded. That said getting the players together with fans' groups should be a good thing, surely?
Didn't think you'd find anything wrong with it.

Mike Cheston - Finance Director
Ashfaq Hasan - Head of Finance
* Not sure it is up to date
Thank you. In layman's terms what's the difference between the two?
Hard to see what involvement these two would have had in fucking up the mechanics of a loan deal.
