  1. Another Egg special to put alongside Wahlstedt, Hirst Ennis and Telalovic.
  2. If the £5m for Raya is only coming in in installments that's a really poor bit of negotiation on our part.
  3. Or alternatively this Rovers Insider bloke is probably completely full of shit. I can't see for one moment why Pasha would be bothered by adverse reaction to him allegedly telling the owners not to spend anything. If indeed he ever said it and was unwise enough to let the comment slip into the public domain in the first place. Doing unpopular stuff never seems to have fazed him in the past. As for Eustace "kicking off", who knows but it's not a massive stretch to assume he wouldn't have been happy with events up to now.
  4. About right. If Gallagher goes (please God) I might become the only supporter in town who purchases a phase 3 season ticket.
  5. You must have spent too long in France. I can tell what he's saying perfectly well.
  6. Lol, trust unleaded to nail it in such concise fashion. Please post more if you can.
  7. Ah THAT, explains why you keep coming to us for all our unwanted dross. He might be trying to make reparations for past misdemeanours (allegedly). Keep up the good work Jon!
  8. Waggott and Pasha are probably sitting around hoping we get gazumped by other Clubs before they request the final sign off from India. They can't use the old "We missed the deadline due to an administrative error" line at this stage of the window.
  9. Or golf - a "clutch putt" - a tricky 6 footer to win the tournament or stay in contention to win etc
  10. If correct it would mean he comes good when the pressure is on and produces at the most opportune moments I I.e. performing in big games or scoring with 5 mins to go to rescue a point or nick a victory etc etc. I'd take it with a pinch of salt, if he was that much of a "clutch" player, he wouldn't be ending up here at the moment.
  11. Statistical anomalies aside I know we nearly went down with him in the side in the 2nd half of last season.
  12. Whoopee doo That's an impressive return over 4 seasons.
  13. I think I would disagree there. IF he was any good (which he isn't) and IF his goals meant the difference between staying up or going down (which they wouldnt) then for the relatively modest fee involved of £1.5m I'd probably keep him. As it is though he's absolute dogs hit so the debate is academic
  14. Well yes, obviously couldn't be further apart in terms of ability but poles apart in terms of attitude as well. Shearer always left everything out on the pitch and put in a performance every week. Gallagher never puts in a performance. When was the last time you watched a game and thought "Gallagher was magnificent today" or even " he was a bit of a handful" Almost never.
  15. As I've said a number of times over the years with Gallagher there's putting in a genuine shift then there's just doing one or two bits and pieces to create the impression he's putting in a shift. Might run for one or two lost causes to make it look as though he's doing something but when it comes to what really matters like bullying the opposition, winning a header, busting a gut to get on the end of a cross or into a dangerous goalscoring position or putting his head/body in where it hurts there's none of that.
  16. Yes, but as far as I'm aware Fulham/Arsenal haven't had any high profile transfer embarrassments of the sort we've had recently nor I presume will they have had charlatans like Waggott and Broughton conducting matters so it's not unreasonable to feel slightly nervous in the absence of definite confirmation imo.
  17. So would you rate a centre half who couldn't defend to save their life but popped up in the opposition box four or five times a season to score from a corner?
  18. He's got no work ethic about him whatsoever. Doesn't physically impose himself on the opposition, 6 ft 5 and jumps about 5 ft 7, can't be bothered getting himself into positions from where he'd be likely to score and that's before you even get onto his technical limitations. Was a willing runner of the channels and half decent during his first loan spell (albeit not worth anywhere near £5m) but has been absolutely stealing a living since he came permanently. Good riddance to bad rubbish. If he goes that is. Please God.
  19. I thought he was absolutely terrible when he was here on loan. Looked like he simply couldn't be bothered.
  20. Stoke are perfectly entitled to ask whatever they want for him. You're just annoyed that the potential swap deal with Gallagher which was mooted by nicko is never and was never going to go ahead.
  21. Agreed. He puts most of the rest of the team to shame in that respect.
