They've only just caught up with Ancelotti endorsing Ferguson and that happened round about the same time as the Great Fire of London.

On reflection I wouldn't be either thrilled or dismayed with Warne before a ball is kicked. I'd have to give him a chance and see how he went on. My concerns would be his previous record at Championship level (albeit at Rotherham) and whether he is a big enough draw to entice Lenihan and Nyambe to sign. On the flip side, at least he isn't Mowbray and if he appears to treat the role of manager of Blackburn Rovers as a little more of a privilege and a little less of a chore like Mowbray used to do he'll have my backing until proven otherwise.

They are releasing titbits about the progress with the search (such as it is) to the likes of Sharpe anyway. The worry has to be that several weeks in, we don't on the face of it appear to be any further on. And all this whilst the owners have the wherewithal to go straight in and make an offer that can not be refused to their preferred candidate anyway.

I wouldn't mind Ainsworth at all, but I was about to make a similar point. Allegedly we've had over 50 "serious" applicants for the role, and have conducted an exhaustiv process with several rounds of interviews. At various points the likes of Farke, Dyche , Carvalhal Jokanovic, Bilic and Hughton have also been out of work whilst we've conducted this supposedly exhaustive process. I wouldn't even be completely opposed to Ferguson either. After 5 years of the dour uninspiring Mowbray it could be a very refreshing change. However after making such a song and dance about going through such a painstaking process to make sure we find the right man I'd really expect a candidate of the calibre from the list above. There'd be a part of me that thought everyone down at Ewood was taking the piss if after such a long drawn out process we allowed the likes of Farke Carvahal and Critchley to slip through our grasp and appointed someone with no managerial experience like Ferguson. No disrespect to him as I think we could do a lot worse by hiring a proven failure of the Mowbray ilk like Pardew or Adkins but the general point still stands.

Also Dalglish bought in Harford as his assistant who'd already experienced success as a manager at the top level in his own right and Hughes brought his own trusted team as well Bown and Eddie whose surname I can't spell.

Yep. Some short memories on here. Trybull and Barry Douglas also useless. Edun was a signing we didn't even need to make having signed Pickering and he's been poor to boot. Chapman didnt work out twice Zeefuick useless, Giles disappointing, Hedges looks really really poor to me. Signed Kaminsky but also signed a Greek keeper who never saw the light of day over two seasons, and two of the worst keepers ever to put gloves on in Walton and Pears. Gallagher - and we already knew he wasn't that good from his first spell here, although nowhere near as bad as now. Definitely way more miss than hit in the transfer market.

Pardew didn't resign from his last Club to walk out and manage Blackburn Rovers, he walked out because his players were racially abused by the Club's own fans - allegedly. The fact we have a managerial vacancy at the same time is coincidental, the two things would not appear to be connected.
