  1. Yep, IF they were interested then Farke, Nuno (and Dyche) should be way ahead of Carvalhal in the pecking order. It's just that CC seems a somewhat safer and more appealing prospect in comparison to a lot of the less desirable names mentioned.
  2. Don't agree with this at all. That would only be the case if all five or six names on Waggott's shortlist were top names. Plus, we don't know what he is, or isn't, recommending to the owners. Why hasn't he cleared out the coaching staff already? Why has the fate of the existing coaching staff even been flagged up as a potential issue? Is he going to recommend to the owners we go with some desperado who's prepared to work with the existing staff at the expense of better candidates (such as Carvalhal) who aren't? I do however obviously accept though that IF we end up with another Coyle style appointment, it will make things very toxic again. Final point, as for him walking out if an appointment is made he does not approve of - do me a favour. He's never going to walk away from that 300k p.a. job voluntarily (sadly).
  3. Sharpe hasn't got a scooby has he? He's just recycling info/rumours off here. He should be ashamed of himself stealing a living nicking stuff off here and passing it off as his own instead of coming out with any worthwhile scoops himself.
  4. I prefer: "Going down the Bolton Rd - To see Carvalho's aces!" Still jumping the gun horrendously in either case mind!
  5. Don't let Gav, reel you in. He's never once accused Mowbray (who never made the play offs here) of "failing", but levies that accusation against Carvalhal (who made the play offs twice). Strange that.
  6. Well done Carlos, it is of course a no brainer we need to clear the decks. Having him and his coaching staff come in will hopefully be like hitting the players with a bucket of ice water after 5 and a bit years of Mowbray and Venus and even longer with Lowe. Be a bit harsh on Johnson possibly, Mowbray stitched him up good and proper by bringing him in to the first team picture then making him a very peripheral figure.
  7. Why, do you rate Unsworth highly as a coach? Genuine question as I know nothing about him other than he had a fairly unsuccessful spell as caretaker manager at Everton?
  8. SW: "So Carlos, you'll be working with your coaching team of Lowey, Damo and Ben." CC: "Is that the time?"
  9. More so Dyche and Farke than Carvalhal but he'd still be a fairly solid appointment I think most would be happy with.
  10. Depends. JFH could have been the League 1 candidate and we do have a bit of a link with Burton through loaning players.
  11. Yep, wouldn't matter so much if he could give us 1-2 really good seasons at full throttle and produce good results. If however he was (imo) like Lambert, uncommitted and not bothered about the state of players contracts moving forward in the long term etc it could be disastrous.
  12. Without wishing to be rude who did you successfully tip us up on as I don't recall it. I don't remember anyone coming up with Mowbray before it was announced - probably for very good reason. "Let's have a look at the list of former League 1 managers who jumped from their last role before they were pushed" etc etc.
  13. Could work alongside a really good coach. I'm sort of both intrigued by Ferguson and not really wanting him both at the same time.
  14. Mercer did mention JFH right at the outset saying he was being pushed. Would be a strange choice, wonder who he's represented by?
  15. I'm a bit ambivalent on Carvalhal but at least it wouldn't be Mowbray. Disappointing news if true re Farke but realistically only what you'd expect.
  16. You never know. Ferguson's name keeps popping up on the rumour mill. Manning would be very interesting but has been very much on QPR's radar seeming. Any other decent League 1 managers apart from him and Ainsworth?
  17. Sounds a bit like we were scraping the barrel, Carvalhal apart, there.
