Now now Chris, don't get cheeky, and there was me feeling sorry for you (for all of about 2 seconds) last night! Hopefully from our point of view over the next two or three seasons we'll see the difference between our owners who despite their many and well documented faults appear able to absorb a £200m loss without batting an eyelid and yours who seem intent on fleecing the Club at a fairly exorbitant rate of interest.

He gave a terrific interview after the play off Final yesterday, no excuses about the performance on the day but was waxing lyrical about his squad, saying it was the best he'd ever had and how much he was looking forward to getting stuck into League 1 again next season. He certainly didn't sound like someone who wad intending to leave. A fraction of that type of honesty and enthusiasm would have worked wonders here over the last 4 seasons.

Not biting...... I'm not really the right person to ask........your question would be better directed towards one of the concerned fans who have held discussions with the Club. If you were to ask me my personal opinion, I'd say not as well or quickly as hoped. (Edit: But then I'm an impatient bugger where all things Rovers are concerned and would prefer not to go on five year "journeys" leading back to exactly where we started like the one we've been on with your mate Mowbray.) No idea what your final paragraph is about, as far as I'm aware no-one from what you sarcastically describe as "the QEGS group" has made any claims regarding the new manager whatsoever.

I don't place much store by what Sharpe says but IF (as he is inferring above) any new appointment will be hindered by having to keep on Mowbray's deadbeat coaching staff that will be a massive impediment to bringing in a top class candidate. Given Venky's financial clout the process SHOULD be so straightforward. Identify the best candidate available, make it happen and let them bring in whoever they want.

I was speaking to someone a few weeks ago who was adamant Ferguson had been interviewed about the job at Sparth House in Clayton Le Moors. I didn't give it any credence at the time as the general consensus was we hadn't spoken to anyone at that point (apart from Mowbray) Not sure how I'd feel about that. He'd certainly put a much needed rocket up a few arses but not sure if he's all that in terms of managerial ability ultimately.

Interesting. I thought Wilder was coming in towards the end of last season when it was apparently common knowledge amongst the players Mowbray would be leaving at the end of that campaign but for whatever reason it never happened. Not over the moon about the prospect of Carvahal but could live with it. Would be disappointed with Grayson. If the owners really want to show intent there's still only two stand out candidates. Farke and Dyche. No need to look any further but I'd also be reasonably happy with Ainsworth.

Apparently someone loves us ❤️❤️

This is exactly what I've been saying all along, the situation was completely created and stage managed by Mowbray imo. Delighted he's gone, three and a half years too late for me, but better late than never. Those bottles of Aldi champagne will be getting a road trip now. Far less delighted Venus, Waggott and Lowe don't appear to be following him out of the door. Who of any calibre is going to want to work with those deadbeats? And what happened to Waggott's widely mooted retirement? Hard to escape the conclusion that they're determined not to go until the bulldozers have moved in on Brockhall. The other worrying thing is that reading between the lines we don't even seem to have given Mowbray's replacement any thought, let alone lined up a high class replacement in the Farke bracket. Still, it's a start, and let's be grateful for small mercies etc etc. -
The obvious answer is that Mowbray decided to jump before he was pushed just in case and they hadn't actually come to a final decision on what they want to do with him or, even worse, still hope to persuade him to sign a new deal. However IF they have actually decided to part Company with him they need to put out the statement and get him out of the building ASAP. It's no good him hanging around everyone feeling sorry for himself and expressing opinions which may be contrary to the direction the Club want to go in. Neither should he be having any input into things like next season's recruitment, and it is completely pointless him carrying out a debrief of this season.

It was allegedly common knowledge within the Club he was gone at the end of the campaign well before the end of last season. The team performed (or rather didn't perform) accordingly and Mowbray stropped accordingly. Something seemingly went wrong with the target or targets they were after then and here Mowbray still is. We also had the scenario a few years ago where Warnock was more or less done and dusted then the representatives of Coyle steamed in with a much cheaper offer and we know how that panned out. I have little doubt that Mowbray is primarily angling for a new deal or if one is still not forthcoming, at worst he's trying to stage manage the situation and make it look like he jumped rather than being pushed. Given what has happened previously though and given the Club's previous record and their inexplicable reluctance to confirm Mowbray's departure now, I won't be celebrating until he's physically out of the building.

I think that's fairly spot on. I can't see why either party would have wanted to discuss Mowbray's situation until our fate was confirmed. However once Mowbray had his little outburst before the Bournemouth game I thought "Well if they want him to go they'll have to issue the bog standard statement now." Nothing was forthcoming and I thought "Hopefully it's because of Bank Holiday weekend". Unfortunately however nothing whatsoever has happened after that so the only logical conclusion to be drawn is that either he caught them on the hop by steaming in first in public on the issue and they either haven't a clue what to do next,or, are still hopeful of persuading him to stay. Mowbray has always left plenty of room for ambiguity as well with everything he's said so I don't think he's anywhere near as set on departing as for example chaddy makes out. (No offence chaddy). All that said I hope beyond hope I'm completely wrong and Glen is spot on and Farke will be confirmed in a few days. Can't see it as things stand though sadly.

He let the cat out of the bag about him not giving a shit when he said "We're not going to get disappointed about drawing at home to Blackpool" or similar. A proper manager who gave a toss would have been devastated/incandescent in equal measure at the run of form in general and that performance in particular.
