Well done chaddy, you've been waiting a fair while for that haven't you? 🙂 -
Unless anyone meets our valuation he should be playing.

Wasn't Brereton's fault, Rothwell should have scored. It was quite a narrow angle by the time it reached Ben. -

Great 3 points, suspect wins will be like gold dust this season. TBF up until we scored the second that was better than almost anything we saw last season. Whilst you still suspect we'd do better with Dolan out wide and BB and SG central, Dolan's harrying and work rate was phenomenal, I'd have given him MOM despite a few wrong choice of passes and weak shots. After we went 2 up we contrived to make very hard work of the remainder of the game. Terrible sub on 83 mins from Mowbray, Carter for Dolan which pegged us right back. Overall though very enjoyable, and very refreshing seeing the enthusiasm of the young lads instead of dollopers like Evans/Bennett/Trybull etc. Butterworth looked sensational in a couple of bursts he did then looked puffed out after a 50 yard run. Nyambe, what a player. Even with these lads, we'd still do better with another manager. -

From Mowbray's comments in the LT he obviously CHOSE not to offer contract extensions for the better players and the owners obviously weren't asked to fund it!!!!! Also given the financial mess we're in do you really have to ask why he wouldn't be given any more money? The only imponderable is why he is still here and hasn't been sacked by now. -

No doubt Armstrong's head "won't be in the right place". Tough shit. We're still paying him, Palace aren't. Get him out there. -

So basically the reason all our top players are going to end up leaving for nothing or less than they're worth is that Mowbray didn't want to upset the dross in the squad much of which he should have previously offloaded anyway. What an absolute arsehole he is. Have said it many times before, he seems to see his duty as being to protect the existing players at the Club to the exclusion of others who may come in and more importantly ahead of his duty to act in the best interests of Blackburn Rovers football Club who pay his considerable wages. He can't be gone soon enough, only 12 months left on his contract or not. -

Hardly Shearer is it? Good on loan when he was after a contract, then part of a side which got us relegated, has freely admitted he wasn't professional enough, crap in League 1 then couldn't move for his last couple of seasons here. To be fair the last bit wasn't his fault, it was down to Mowbray giving him a ridiculous new deal. -

Not really. In our current state that's a bit like saying we'd have a 1 in 12 chance if Citeh, Liverpool, Man Ure, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG and Juventus were in for him! -

Yet another case of the LT letting Mowbray get away with absolute murder. Our current predicament has nothing to do with the owners financial position vi's a vi's Covid, it's down to Waggott and Mowbray's gross mismanagement of the finances over the last 3 years. Mowbray could say the earth was flat or the sky was green and grass was blue and theT wouldn't challenge him on it. -

Don't agree with that at all. He's still our player and we need to win the game. -

Is that a piss take? Might as well invite Chris Brown back as well. Home games 2 and 3 Corry Evans (as he'll be injured by then) and Elliott Bennett. -
I took it that way in the light of recent attempts to open up lines of communication with the owners.

Not having a go at Chaddy here, but honestly, this just looks like a desperate attempt to make it appear as though we're doing something. What are the chances of us landing him if there are 12 clubs interested? -

Good post. We're already likely to lose Armstrong for less than his real worth because the buffoons in charge at Ewood agreed to a ludicrous sell on clause then failed to prioritise our any of our top assets (other than the injured Dack) to protect the Club. The rest are also likely to walk out for free in 12mths due to the negligence of Waggott and Mowbray. The only chance surely of getting anyone to re-sign is if we replace the Coventrio with a dynamic and forward thinking management team. -
Best Post on this thread imo.

(Tin hat on) As an opening attempt at establishing some form of communication between the owners and the fans I don't think it's a bad effort at all. People complain when we hear nothing from them then they complain when we do hear from them so they're in a bit of a no win situation in that respect. However, as others have said, actions speak louder than words so it's what happens next that counts. Can they combine their financial support with taking matters by the scruff of the neck and sorting out the situation on the ground at Ewood by firing Waggott and Mowbray and team and replacing them with a competent and unconflicted CEO and a progressive forward thinking manager?

Spot on Gav, King absolutely stunk the place out here and only really put in a couple of performances in the Cup to put himself in the shop window shortly before his contract expired. As for Armstrong, I've my doubts about whether he can succeed in the Prem but from a purely footballing perspective I think we need to keep hold of him or we'll go down. Surprised to see people slagging his abilities off to quite such an extent though. From our point of view for present purposes he's a £25m player. Wouldn't mind playing poker with some of you guys!

Don't know if there'll be many in the Blackburn End Saturday but here's one for the "Blackburn End Choir" Mowbray had a dream With his housing team He had no money so he asked the bank for a loan With flats at the back Few quid in the sack It's Tony Mowbray - I wish he'd just jack/ he needs the tin tack -
Good shout Andy, thanks for tipping me off via p.m. This to me makes the appointment of Park even more ludicrous. Brexit made Chamberlain's role largely redundant but why not just move him over as head of recruitment rather than dispense with him and bring someone else in? Ah, I forgot, he isn't a mate of Mowbray's. So that's the groundsman, Harvey, Barr, Cooper, Chamberlain gone. Does anyone still work there apart from the Coventrio and a team of analysts churning out player recommendations from their lap tops who we then discover we can't afford?
