  1. Far more likely to be related to the medication he will have been on for years for his triple heart bypass I'd have thought.
  2. What does the guy in the middle do?
  3. I've no proof, but I've been told he's on a LOT more than that.
  4. Wouldn't be the worst shout in the world, there'd have to be a stipulation in his contract that he couldn't sign any players from Willie bleedin' Mackay's stable though! (If he's still an agent).
  5. If he was ever coming it would have gone through simultaneously with the Armstrong deal surely. Then again selling Armstrong with a ready made replacement coming the other way sounds a lot less of a blow than selling him with no replacement whatsoever. Just like having a game called off last season seemed a lot less of an issue when we were promised a brand new pitch just a few days later by Waggott. And look what happened there
  6. At a normal football Club, given we claim to be so short of money, the manager would be told to use Dolan or Chapman (who he's just given a THIRD contract to) rather than sign a player who's already injured before he even gets here.
  7. Indeed. How can you start to compare the hapless Kean to the cunning Mowbray? Kean never brought in his own choice of CEO to insulate himself. Kean never then tried along with said CEO to flog off the training ground in a similar scam to the one they tried (and failed with) at their previous Club. Bonkers indeed.
  8. Guessing Park is (allegedly) in charge of identifying targets and Venus is still (theoretically) charged with getting the deals over the line. Unless Venus's role within the Club has mysteriously changed yet again.
  9. Surely not with our crack negotiator Mark Venus getting the deal over the line and Tony Mowbray telling the player how our new signings go straight into the side in their favoured position. Oh.........hang on.
  10. Gav, have you started early tonight my friend? What on earth makes you think we can finish mid table "again" (not that 15th is midtable away) shorn of 36 goals from Armstrong and Elliott and no reinforcements up front?
  11. Mowbray's record in the Cups is abysmal - even worse than his League form if that's possible. From what I can see from a quick check he has a 100% loss record in the FA Cup going out at the first time of asking four times out of four at the third round stage. In the League Cup we've got through one round before subsequently going out on three occasions, got knocked out at the first time of asking once last night and have only progressed through two rounds on the one occasion. To me this just shows a total lack of professionalism and respect for the Club. He sees them as inconvenient extra fixtures which have to be fulfilled. If we were actually mounting a serious assault on promotion that sort of attitude might be OK but when you're only trailing in lower mid table anyway it's completely unacceptable.
  12. Sorry, just couldn't think of anyone less suited to the "Frank Lampard role" than Gallagher! He's no footballing intelligence, can't pass and his second touch is a tackle. We had someone who was suitable for that type of role in Travis before Mowbray seemingly coached it out of him.
  13. Although.......as with loaning four or five that would stop our own Academy graduates from getting much of a look in. Even more so if we bought four or five AND loaned in four or five.
  14. I'm amazed any Rovers fan isn't bothered about us losing a competitive fixture! Then there's the added worry that more or less our strongest X1 got beaten at home by League 1 Morecambe.
  15. Charity fiver that now the Armstrong deal has gone through in isolation and we've banked the higher fee, talk of Obafemi coming permanently mysteriously disappears and we get some desperado the equivalent of Nathan Delfouneso, Lake Varney or DJ Campbell on loan.
  16. It's up to them to sack him though. Reading between the lines he's no longer flavour of the month with the owners and the taps have been well and truly turned off. It's no good keeping him hanging around due to some false sentiment of honour and the notion that a contract is a contract though. He needed to go at the end of last season and it might already be too late to save this one as a result.
  17. God only knows. It's all Waggott type bullshit. "we're looking into it" "the plan is to" etc etc Wish these characters were paid on results. They'd be down the Sally Army.
  18. Quite a bit further I would have thought.
  19. Hughes before that. He had us flying on the periphery of qualification for the Champions League. Allardyce by his own admission is a Red Adaire keep teams up type merchant.
  20. That non existent American Dan Williams as well. To be fair, in terms of finances, the sale to Venky's was a solid one and I suppose it would have been impossible to predict they would have behaved as erratically as they did in the early days. Our demise stems from them though as all they had to do to keep the gravy train rolling was give Hughes some moderate backing.
  21. Should never be not bothered about losing a competitive game. That's a comment up there with Tony's "I don't bother looking at the table".
  22. Have we ever won a Cup tie under Mowbray? If we have, can't be so many.
  23. Newcastle's end of the deal should have been covered by the add ons. NUFC didn't half have our pants down on the deal and hopefully the owners will ensure that won't happen again or even better ensure that Waggott and Mowbray aren't in situ to strike any more poor agreements.
