They keep mentioning his heroics in the super over. Im sorry but for all we got the result that was a terrible 6 balls. Got bloody carted about and even bowled a wide.
-
Stupid from archer. He had one job. Stokes clearly had a word with him but still persisted with the slogging.
-
Gifted them 2 wickets after lunch. It’s the hope that kills.
-
Disappointed to see Root tossing off his wicket. With the so called fab 4 of Williamson, Smith, kholi and root the other 3 would never surrender their wicket. Whether it’s his first or 300th ball can always get him out.
-
137/2. Think Australia were exactly that in their first innings. Could easily see us all out for less than 180 as well.
-
Bloody Burns. What ever happened to leaving balls on length.
-
Root just looks like little boy lost in that slip cordon.

Hameed to leave Lancashire at end of season source BBC cricket
Heard a rumour he was going to Yorkshire but I thought 1 he wouldn’t go there and 2 they wouldn’t want him. Having initially dismissed it as nonsense might be more to it.
Feel sorry for the lad in another world he could be playing today for England but as it is when you’re an opening bat with a season average of 9 hard to come back from that. May be with another county and out from under the wing of mark chilton he could produce again

Where to begin with this detritus. Mostly I don’t think our batting problems are talent issue I think it’s brain issues. Problem is tight bowling so then when a loose delivery arrives they are chasing it. At 45/6 there was one good ball.
Roy is always stupid. 20/2 trying to hook.
Roots was fair enough but struggling as an opener when the official openers can’t get their head down for 12 overs.
Stokes was embarrassing hit a nice four and then chased a massively wide one. Edge to slip. It was two feet outside offstump.
Buttler what can’t you say. The cons put in a short cover for the drive and first ball puts it down his throat.
That card would embarrass a village team.
Even as I type woakes belongs to the brain dead society. Learnt nothing from first innings bowling this short crap.

Looking like could still lose this.

Give me bookings and cynical challenges all day long for the 3points.

Johnson at fault for the goal. Gave the ball away cheaply. Good finish

He must have a fake birth certificate. There's no way that guy isn't over 30 by now.
Yeah 24!?! He’s been playing for about 20 years that guy. Yakubu was another one.

Better than expected. Full backs are just atrocious. Bell can’t control the ball.
-
Struggling to think of a worse Rovers defence. That Fulham side will have a field day. Let’s hope they declare at 4 goals.
-
Reed on their bench.
-
Jesus Christ. That back 4. Let’s hope Tosin turns out to be Bobby Moore

Not holding out much hope today or in the next month of fixtures. Defence was that Achilles heel of last season and not convinced much has been done about it. With no lenihan then it’s a very makeshift back 4.
The Charlton goals were classic rovers. An unchallenged cross which found a man either unmarked or untracked. Then a header off a corner unchallenged. I suspect more of the same.

This is true one year we were sat in a pub in York and a wheelie bin floated past the window at lunch time. 20 miles away at skeletors lair they still got a game on. Cracking the flags now.

Like that one.

I've been debating all week whether to go tonight or not. I don't have a ticket but I was pretty confident I would be able to get one on the night. I think the weather forecast has made my mind up to stay and watch at home. Right now the Met Office has it as a 60-70% chance of thunderstorms between 5 and 9pm. One big thunderstorm on the ground could be enough for it to be a wash-out.

I reckon Tony will be desperate to shoehorn his favourites and signings in so wouldn't be surprised to see:
Walton
Bennett Lenihan Tosin Downing
Evans Johnson
Gallagher Dack Armstrong
Graham
In which case 1-3 Charlton

That’s come around quickly. Disappointed that going into the first game with the defensive issues not really addressed.
I’d go with:
Walton
Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell
Travis Johnson
Rothwell Dack Armstrong
Graham
I know Mulgrew is a defensive liability but think it would be unfair on tosin to expect he can form a centre half partnership after a handshake with Leninhan a few days ago.
Id rather not see Evans or Bennett. I don’t want to see Gallagher or Brererton stuck out on the wing either
2-1 Rovers. And with the fixtures really need 3 points.
