Feel bad for Italy as well. It was going to be Sergio Parisse's last game. And also Gharaldini was going to have a 20 min cameo after a 15 year career and spent months rehabbing for that moment.
Think it would be hilarious for Scotland to be dumped out because of a typhoon (haggis ? didn’t know that’s what they’d called it) but would much prefer to see them choke on the pitch.

The truly sad thing is I don’t think may people who went expected much else. I said along with everybody else Mowbray and this season lives and dies with the defence. So as you look at that defence there’s just a resigned shake of the head of bloody knew it.
Tony has made a rod for his own back with play off talk. He cannot live up to his own ambitions so whether we pull the plug now or at the end of the season it’ll happen.
Its no defence of the shambles but I think QPR are decent. I don’t think any other team in the championship has two goal scoring strikers, certainly to the extent of wells and Hugill. That Eze was excellent. Warburton has put together a very decent side there very quickly.

Not much point in reiterating just how terrible Rovers are. But one random thing I would question from yesterday not about the game per se is the warm up. How many times are blackburn pretty average in the first half?! Other teams certainly seem to have more vigorous warm ups. Seems quite short and lethargic. Just an observation.

Also caught bit of New Zealand. I know it way only vs Namibia but New Zealand are totally different gravy. Some of the offloads as they had been tackled were phenomenal.
Clearly England can’t compete with them in that regard like asking a Sam Allardyce team to beat Barcelona playing total football. But going forward it would be great if we could somehow drill that ball handling talent into our young players then have us replicate it at the top level.

Just watched the England v Argentina.
Can’t see England winning this tournament on that performance. Far too complacent. Got the bp win then went right off the boil. Not much creativity in the attack, no offloads (New Zealand particularly are playing a different game in that regard) and then silly errors.
The argies are always frustrating to play against. They just kick all day long and let the forwards do 90% of the work. But they inevitably run out of steam. Looked like the forwards had enough on 30 mins.
As a side note I really dislike Nigel Owens he’s such an arrogant bugger. Relishes the spotlight on him. If he’s officiating a game he’s somehow always centre of attention. Strutting round theocratically flailing his arms around for decisions like he’s auditioning for a west end show. Then dishing out monologues of advice to players. Pundits constantly reference him as one of the best refs yet simultaneously pick apart his decisions. But aside from "no complaint from me with that tackle” when Farrell was taken out he wasn’t overtly biased against England which is the first time I can say that about him.

With all this alleged talent we are relying on bell, Evans and Bennett. They play more often than not Rovers lose. It’s that simple. Holtby and Johnson sat on the bench.

Cunningham and lenihan injured. So worse than the average defeat. If I’m not mistaken Evans the middle of a back 3.

Game over. Never come from behind. Sooooooo predictable.

I fear it’s going to be one of those why the hell do we bother days. Early start, 8+ hours round trip, £100 train, £33 ticket plus the ever reasonably priced capital which means will come back from the day £200 lighter minimum.
Plus very much looking forward to the usual ludicrous dance with bouncers on every pub in that area. Can I see your ticket...what ticket...the match ticket...what match...are you not here for the football...no what football...ok lads come on in. Might even have to pretend to be antipodean so they think we’re “local”.
I fully expect to leave the ground thinking what a bang average QPR team that was and then wonder how we didn’t lay a glove on them.
Still when all’s said and done better than being dragged round a garden centre or the like.

Just now, Dan said:
What is he bloody obsession with playing centre forwards on the wing? I’m fed up of it now. Why the eff can’t he play players in their natural position? It’s not rocket science. I want to strangle the stupid daft bastard.
So we can play long diagonal balls to big lummoxes which get flicked on to no one or headed down to no one.

Newly promoted team, 3 consecutive defeats, playing away, need a win. Who you gonna call ROVERS.

0 points from 6 against newly promoted clubs at home. The staggering thing is in both games we’ve equalised and then gone on to cock it up again.
Travis and Downing ok the rest poor and in the case of Gallagher and Armstrong bloody atrocious.
-
Happens so often. Even the AFC Wimbledon match from league one all over again. Run of wins - complacency - lack of urgency - nothing performances.
-
Same old predictable Rovers. I knew we’d bottle it but chose to delude myself. Hopefully next time we put a run together I won’t kid myself about our credentials.

Correct decision in my opinion.

Typical.

Lenihan caught between two players.

With Armstrong and Gallagher the second touch is a tackle.

This made me laugh:
Wow what a game!
A country and a language that very few people understand. They even receive criticism for what they eat and their strange dress code!!! A country and its population that has been battered by the extreme weather conditions. A nation not known for its rugby...
and now they have lost to Japan!
