  1. Underground - Victoria line to seven sisters would seem to be what you want,
  2. YODA ! You're back ! Odd, you vanished about the same time as Cool Claret ! Come on, own up.
  3. Arse. I guess London cabbies are gonna make a bit from us then. I actually posted the map with the Gilpin Bell on it earlier this week, but then realised I couldn't find WHL so I removed it. I got a bizare message at work today. "Your dad rang, he's got 8 lollypops and is now going hunting for some balls!". Nobody would believe me he was talking about inflatables.
  4. Don't remind me. Last Minute Shopping Anyone (3 hrs to go - No bids).
  5. D'ya think they'll let my inflatable smurf in ?
  6. You just know that they'll end up permanently fixed to JPW by his second stella. Bad news Mushy ..... I'm on the beer this time too !
  7. Are the two sentences connected? If so, is there a shop selling inflatable brfcs.com members? Cheers ! infallible possibly, inflamable probably, inflatable probably not.
  8. well i'll bring the horn and give it a couple of blasts!! i wasn't on about them stupid plastic things that you blow!! dont hold back - just bring woteva! i recall hearing portsmouth fans ringing a loud bell but general opinion on here suggests that something of that nature wouldn't be welcome!! I was sat behind Mr Portsmouth FC (his real name) aka The twonk with the bell (a slightly more polite version of what everyone knows him as) for an England game one. Never ever again Believe me, bring your horn and it may well end in in the same place that bell was heading. I'd rather be sat between the drummers than next to some twonk with an air horn.
  9. Getting to the nearest tube (Seven Sisters) is easy enough, 4 stops along the victoria line. However, it's quite a trek from the tube to the ground (2 miles ish), but sadly there aren't a lot of other options.
  10. I take my remaining stock (about a dozen I think) to every game, "stop me and buy one"
  11. The difference is swipe cards need a reader to read the magnetic strip from the card (like a super market does when you pay) where as RFID tags can be read by a nearby [R]adio [F]requency reader as you walk past. Most Ski resorts use them now, just leave your pass in your pocket and walk through the turnstyle, not swiping or anything. Also a lot of building entry system use them too. I'm sure Neil may know a lot more about them than me because I believe his employer is one of the largest suppliers of them.
  12. I believe we may have convinced him to come to the Gilpin Arms (aka Wetherspoons) with us lot (btw Tris, no matter how bad you feel today, I bet you feel better than Jill ). I've hopefully done a deal that will land us LOTS of inflatable footballs, but I won't know for sure until Tuesday.
  13. Radio Frequency ID, bit like the stuff that stops you stealing from shops. It's getting more and more impregnated in todays society. http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040216&s=garfinkel for privacy geeks like me (Not that I'm implying the club would have sinistar uses for them. It's just where the news comes up a lot). They are already in very common use in Ski restorts.
  14. More likely RFID rather than swipe in this day and age I'd imagine.
  15. It actually belongs to the site, but I'm it's current guardian. Last time the duty manager got a little arsey about it, probably 'cos I was a tad drunk and didn't ask him . He eventually agreed though. A pic of it is at http://brfcs.fotopic.net/p1392184.html
  16. I've always struggled to find a pub at spurs that allows away colours, although many people have mentioned a wetherspoons, I've never been able to find it. Tris ? Jimbo ? Any other local ? Any better suggestions ?
  17. Close ...... Fingers works independent of brain And NO I'm NOT volenteering !
  18. I think a lot of people may be in that state. Hopefully, this time I have to do some public speaking without any warning with significantly raised alcohol levels. Unlike the Groobys You ARE going this time Paul aren't you ? Or do I need to stay sober this time
  19. That's exactly the reason, I believe most grounds now won't allow bottle caps. As for the pie, sadly it wasn't because of its potential as a missile, but because it upset the club catering company. Saldy me pointing out that I wasn't any more likely to buy a pie in the ground, just because I was forced to eat my existing one outside the ground, didn't help.
  20. What is it with Oakwell and pies, I was once denied access to the ground for being in possesion of a partly eaten pie ! I'm sure you'll all join me in thanking Alan for both arranging and conducting the interview.
  21. 'tis done. I'll post here in case you can't log in to check yours PMs. Password is the same as Jan2.
  22. Well done on getting promotion Jan. You must feel good about it. Putting in all those hours of work. It’s some achievement isn’t it? After all, promotion is something to be proud about and should look good on your C.V. Make sure you don’t let anyone belittle the good work you have done. It could happen in a short amount of time that people begin to turn on you. Ignore them and be strong. Promotion is nothing to be sniffed at is it? You've just reminded me of this, it's taken in a pub in Gilligham just before our last game in Div 1.
  23. Jan has certainly been on here since the very very early days, in fact she was a regular on the old chat system when I first started showing my face (98ish) and after sharing an umberella with her (and the legendary Lee Grooby) at the world wettest game (Pompey away, 00 I think) nobody can question her comitment. Anyway Jan, I've just checked and your original Jan account (complete with cat woman avatar) still exists, I'll happily merge them for you if you'd like (same for you Jim, but sadly I can't find Rovers 1 to 5 ).
