For all of us asking him to tighten things up with an extra defensive mid or 3 at the back it seems the answer appears to be 'No' (albeit he doesn't actually say those words).

Not sure where we go from here other than hope the players somehow make it work before we end up in the relegation zone?

I'd say it's more that as recently as a month ago (the Bristol City home win made it 7 wins in 11) there couldn't have been any argument that he was getting excellent results and therefore the most out of an underfunded, injury hit squad with enormous question marks about key positions at both ends of the pitch.

Prior to that run we lost 5 out of 6 league games starting from September. But JDT doesn’t mention that in his interviews so it doesn’t get parroted back on here.

  3. if we can’t afford to pay the heating bills then I doubt we can afford to sack him. If we did it would probably mean selling Gallagher just to pay him off.

The home form has been shocking all season and over Xmas the away form has gone the same way.

I honestly feel like it’s a relegation season. Too many drawn in by JdT’s media skills and ignorant of his failure to get the best out of the players we have.

I am still fully backing JDT and I expect a win and performance against Huddersfield. What JDT and the players need is some signings to improve and boost the squad this week.

I don't believe for one minute he has lost the dressing room or players and I think people yet again are looking for things that aren't there.

Based on our current performances how many players do you think he needs to turn it around and in what positions?

  5. Relegation here we come.

The most worrying thing about this bad run is nobody at the club seems to really care or acknowledge how bad things are.

The manager never takes any responsibility and am sure post match he will blame recruitment rather than his suicidal tactics.

The players seem to still think we are playoff candidates.

The directors seem more keen to loan or sell players than results on the pitch.

The owners seem more bothered about court cases than the club.

Where does that leave us fans? None of the above give two hoots about us other than that we all blindly clap along accepting it all.

  6. I would bet that if Gallagher goes it’s purely for financial reasons.

In the summer they likely anticipate another 20% budget cut or some nonsense and therefore won’t do his 12 month extension given his high earner status.

So they sell him now and get some money rather than nothing.

it won’t be reinvested and just offset against the bills, meanwhile his wage is freed up for yet another schoolboy loan for 6 months.

eventually there will be nothing left to sell or cut.

I remembered how frightening his pace was for defenders though his finishing was from the Jason Roberts kind. There was a cup game (think against Chelsea or Liverpool) where i remembered he was the most dangerous player on the pitch.

Back in the day Jason Roberts did a video for BBC football skills on how to convert a one-on-one. I couldnt think of anyone worse for missing them 🤣

Yes JDT is calling for more experience and as I pointed out he uses that experience when given to him, you claimed he doesn't use it which as I pointed out is not true. Travis can have 200 apps for us but fact is his is less experienced that Tronstad at the game of Football (the player he wants to replace)

I never said Kaminski was dropped at all! I said he got injured and had to be replaced, his replacement was on form and you don't drop a player in form unless he gets injured. Again 100% I agree with player in form should never be dropped, form dips then you have a call to make

My point was Travis was given to him and he didn’t use him this season. I never mentioned anyone else other than Kaminski which is the same point.

He can’t moan about experience when he overlooks it or moves it on. He should just say I don’t rate them and want somebody else instead.

    its PR bullshit

Utter guff, he has played Tronstad, Szmodics, Hyam all older experienced heads so that's just a plain wrong statement. Our most experienced player is Tronstad and you think JDT has the power to be able to sell players... Kaminski never got dropped he got injured and Pears was playing well so never got dropped, 100% the right thing to do. Only true statement in all that you have spouted is that Travis was our captain!

He moans after every game that we don’t have ‘experience’ or about the average age of our team do you not listen to his interviews? Travis has 200 rovers appearances so yes I would class him as our most experienced player.

Kaminski was clearly dropped for Pears which you have stated in the same sentence. He got back fit and couldn't get back in? Same thing surely.  “100% the right thing to do” you seriously believe that?

  10. JDT is 5 star at media and pr, it’s always someone else’s fault or issue.

He wants experience but won’t play and then sells our captain and most experienced player. Same with Kaminski last season who he dropped for Pears.

We are going to end up with a team of kids and weak loan players before crashing into league 1.

Then he leaves and it was all for nothing whilst chasing his dream of playing with ‘style’.

We wont change from a 3 man midfield as people forget that Szmodics is the attacking midfielder of the 3. It would mean going to a midfield 4

Yeah I get the argument for that. For me the positions he occupies on the pitch makes me consider him more of the attacking forward 4 than in midfield.

  12. Wharton can’t play the Tronstad role, his tackling, stamina and defensive positioning is nowhere near good enough. When he tried it earlier this season we got murdered even more than we do lately.

Travis has all the right attributes but is poor at taking on the ball under pressure. If we played 3 in midfield then Tronstad or Wharton could do this bit and we overall massively improve the defensive side of our game.

This should be the change we make to stop the rot this season. But JdT has shown no willingness to adapt and it instead looks like we will sell one of our best midfielders.

    we will regret it

  13. I always got the impression Ben wanted the Spanish lifestyle and even if he wasn't getting regular game time would ride it out rather than come back home. The links to the Spanish club were around for years till he finally moved so he obviously fancied it out there. Only been six months or so, no time at all for him to find his feet.

  14. We don't even have any money to pay the bills till the Indian High Court hears the case for the next round of funds needed. I think Waggot said the last lot ran till the end of December so we are already in the brown stuff.

Anyone going out the door won't be replaced and the cash just offset against the running costs. On that basis I would be dead set against selling players or ending loans as we will just end up in an even worse position.

One injury to Tronstad and we are crying out for Travis (we already are in my opinion and would go to 3 in midfield with Travis back in).
