Everton down to the bare bones as well up top with Calvert-Lewin likely out injured

Cant see many "twists and turns" on the final day, Everton wont lose at home to Bournemouth. That Mina equaliser was crucial.
They can draw and still go down if Leicester win

Its logical for Nixon et al to link JDT there but, should Slot leave, would the Dutch champions really want to replace one of the hottest young managers in Europe with the manager of the 7th placed team in the English second division? Given the history he has there he might well be in their thoughts but I would expect them to be setting their sights quite high

A real shame those two brutal injuries, and/or playing in a team built by Tony Mowbray, robbed him of the chance of playing in the Premier League. He may not have had the pace, but I think his excellent technique and positioning would have made him effective at a higher level. Sadly for him it just wasn't meant to be.
Wouldn't right him off the Prem just yet, depends who he signs for. No one expected Luton/Coventry/Sunderland to be there or thereabouts this season and those are the kinds of clubs he'll likely sign for

If this is JDT's decision, as Dack's message seems to hint at, that suggests he's planning to stick around

Utterly bizarre the meal Rovers are making out of the Brereton leaving content on their social media channels - chopping it up and rolling it out over multiple posts like it's for a new signing. The guy is leaving us and for absolutely naff all compensation. Thank him briefly, if you really feel the need to, and move on ffs.

In the interest of Blackburn Rovers 23/24, hopefully Boro go up in the playoffs as they are the best team, on and off the pitch.
Luton I can see regressing next year, especially if they lose a few.
Coventry will likely lose Gyokores and maybe Hamer, and it's unlikely they will reinvest much of it
Sunderland will lose their loan players who have been the difference and have a full window under Mowbrays meddling.
Nothing to fear from those 3 if we actually back JDT this summer.
Add in that West Brom are now skint, Norwich and Watford are final year of parachute paymements so shit or bust for them and below us it doesn't seem many will make improvements. Swansea and Stoke probably the two, maybe Hull, as well as an inevitable good season for Ipswich.
Should be very open, if we fix our glaring issues (everyone on the board has pretty much agreed with positions that need filling) then I'd say Top 6 is an expectation next season (5 non-relegated teams finished top 6 this year).
Don't forget 3 of (likely) Everton, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton to throw into the mix. Will make it very tough.

Draw at Luton be okay IF we beat Millwall, Sunderland don't win last game and West Brom dont win their last two games..I think

Kompany at least, showed a bit of class.
The same Kompany that was knee-sliding on the pitch? Not sure about that one

Adam Wharton is a Premier League footballer, quite possibly this summer one way or the other

West Brom sneaking back into the playoffs as things stand. Would expect them to stay there too.

Imagine playing Millwall in the playoff semis and Boro in the final. You'd actually fancy us on this form.

Almost sounds racist.
If not racist, extremely judgemental from the old dinosaur. Who is he to say, we've had lads like you before. I'd just be sitting there thinking, you don't even know me.
I think that's what James' dad is heavily implying tbh. Certainly doesn't sound good.

Respectfully I completely disagree.
His performances in some of those clean sheets wasn't exactly convincing either. Positionally, in possession and coming for crosses he makes me slextremely nervous.
Don't forget games like Reading at home in the lockdown season. He's a howler machine.
I can't think of a worse 2nd choice goalkeeper we've had so I'd like to know who he's better than?
He's no worse than Jason Steele and he was first choice!

I’m not surprised but I’m astonished we haven’t sold BBD. I can’t make any case for why we haven’t banked what money we can. Not going up with him, not going down without him.
My guess is he's agreed to sign a pre-contract with Sevilla, or someone like that, in Jan and made it clear he's not interested in negotiating with any teams this window whether we accept bids or not. Reason he's so relaxed about it all currently.

Pen that. Lucky.

Think about it like this -
Leicester want a sale and are reluctant to loan him out due to potentially him leaving for nothing. Rovers don’t want to pay a fee now and want to work it into the finances for next season.
Agreement reached on a loan to buy. Both parties are happy then.
it’s not rocket science.
Sharpe suggesting Hurst is resigning with Leicester before joining us on loan.

Not sure what you mean. Leicester have got a significantly better goal difference so if they win and Everton drop points, Leicester stay up and Everton go down.
