Gally to Boro is a strange one. He's really good pals with Lenihan so will probably jump at the chance but i'd like to see him stay! (mainly because we won't sign a replacement and he could thrive under JDT).

Brittain has three season in championship with Barnsley.....he hasn't scored any goals...
Oh yeah, scrap that then. We need to replace Nyambe's goals

Chaddy has gone awfully quiet since yesterday.
I imagine he's sat at home with a bottle of Waggots koolaid in one hand, phone in the other pestering all the local journos on twitter whilst in his pants with an ITK tshirt on.- 5

Let's hope there is a young Henning Berg somewhere in Scandinavia that GB has his eye on.
Be good that but he wont get a work permit.

As expected, Chaddy walks into a meeting with the CEO of our club. Doesn't share the answers given or even the questions asked.
And for what? Why tell us you're having a meeting in the first place? Almost like you love all the grief / attention you get 😂

Has Chaddy been buried under Brockhall by Waggot?
Or is he just not willing to share what was discussed?- 3

I dont find it funny that we become even weaker personally. Plus if Wigan offered more money than us even in the assumed absence of other concrete offers, how has he been done over?
I personally think that his agent had promised him top end Championship offers and the money that goes with it.
We didn't get anywhere near it. Wigan come knocking and he has no other offers and away he goes.
That's how I read the situation and could well be wrong. But he's signing for a relegation favourite and he definitely wasn't aiming to go there!

Presumably you will only laugh if we sign a better, permanent replacement?
Of course but it is funny that his agent has done him over like this.
-
I mean, it's not that he's choosing Wigan over us because they're a better prospect. If he goes there it's because they've offered him more. That's not even saying they CAN offer him more than us, it's just that our club obviously value him a lot less than his agent/Wigan does.
Will laugh my head off if he goes there. Agent has had a shocker!- 1

There are 3 left?
Sorry, I left the '3' out in error for some reason. I knew there were 3 left - I hope JDT plays strong teams with a couple of youngsters thrown in for the remaining games
-
Does anyone else think with 3 only pre season games remaining we should be playing the senior players for the majority?
It was good to play the youngsters against Dundee but I think some of the senior players should have been given minutes too. I want the youngsters to get a chance but it shouldn't be to the detriment of all the 'experienced' players we have - they need minutes in the legs too!- 1

Only 10 'Summer Transfer thread 2022' pages to go until the game against Celtic.

Stop banging on about the pages. It is not a unit of time. Yes the wait for a signing is annoying and baffling but comparing how long it is taking to the amount of pages on a thread on a forum on the internet which is entirely at the mercy of how much people can waffle on about the subject is NOT a reason to be irate.
I'm personally looking forward to Saturdays game against Celtic in 17 pages time.

I do think GB does need to come out and speak though.. we've heard nothing from him since he appointed JDT.. nothing at all
I do agree with this. But then at the same time, I imagine he is working extremely hard trying to get the players in.
Even though it probably doesn't feel or look like it, I highly doubt he's just chilling in his office, spinning on his chair.
Having said all of this, I am still worried about the lack of transfers. It's pretty embarrassing that nobody has been signed yet!

Broughtons career has been academy based.
He will have little knowledge and no black book of the Championship.
He's been brought in to facilitate in-house academy up into first team squad.
If he pulls off a decent signing from an external source it's a bonus.
Getting lists of frees and loans is not rocket science, just a pc and Google will do.
Be worried.
This talk of a Park / Mowbray list is pretty baffling. I am quite confident that Broughton will know of all the players on it as will everyone on this message board. It will have been full of Championship and L1 players + a load of young kids from Premier League teams.
It wouldn't have been full of obscure talent from around the globe.
Broughton will know of the players (like we all do) that would come in and instantly make us more competitive. ie. Brittain and Styles. (to name a couple off the top of my head). Whether or not we can afford them is another question.
I don't for one minute think that Broughton has little knowledge of the Championship.
Transfers aren't happening and I don't think it's because of GB. I think we all know why nobody has come through the door yet.
It's a bit odd that GB is getting stick already- 1

After the transfer window ends.
We sign a player when we do. JDT and GB have been here 3 weeks or so. Maybe given them so more time to bring in players. We only around 5 or 6 signings. Time to calm down and remain patience.
So basically, just wait till we’re seven games deep? You’ll actually be happy if we sign nobody by then and then buy them all on that day?
I am giving them time but we need to see SOME movement, not all. Alarm bells will be ringing for me if we don’t have a player in by the end of the week. We are under three weeks till the start of the season, some urgency is required.

When would be an adequate time to be annoyed? Let us have an idea when is the correct time we should sign our first player, please.

The latter. I see no reason why he would just pluck Hourihane's name out of thin air and say he was being shown around Brockhall. I believe it happened, some might not, which is fair enough.
Based on the quote below, Hourihane has had one look at the so called project at Rovers and seen it for what it is. No thanks, just like Farke, Carvalhal, Anel and probably more to follow.
This is what Hourihane had to say about his move to Derby:
"I am 31 and I was looking for something that was going to excite me, something that I can be a big part of.
"I've played all the way from League Two up to the Premier League but having analysed it as a free agent I was thinking what do I want next, what do I want to achieve and what do I want to be a part of? Derby ticked all of the boxes really".
Correct me if I am wrong but didn’t he just claim that after he went to Derby? Hardly plucking his name out of thin air if that’s the case.
I have it on good authority that Colak was shown around Brockhall on Monday - easy that.

You'd be better disregarding JPVH than Ayala. The latter is far more likely to make some appearances for us this season than the former.
Most probably true but they may loan him out again? Not for one minute suggesting we would sign him permanently

Another delusion of mine:
We're actually hoping to loan Phil Jones and JPvH for next season.
I'm not sure we could afford Jones. I think we could do worse than JPVH and Goode from Brentford. Those 2 would make me forget our CB woes - Wharton, Goode, JPVH, Carter, Phillips.
I am disregarding Ayala because I don't think he'll be here / play enough games if he was.
-
We need some decent links or news soon. Can tell it's dragging when people would be happy with McGoldrick, Clarke, Hourihane and the like.
We need better than that if we want to go anywhere. We've had enough players that are past it/on the decline after another pay day.
