  1. Fair fucks to Eustace and the players, for everything they were to be blamed for mid-week they should be praised for today.
Fantastic desire and effort, and ended up with the two best chances in the match.

Szmodics added a few mill more onto his value.

He came in with instructions to keep us up, and he’s done just that.

(Added sweetener that it’s Leeds falling apart - hopefully Ipswich do the business today)

edit: Bamford should have had two yellows for two dives. Pathetic excuse of a footballer, too busy falling on the floor to stick in the net. No wonder his own fans despise him. Wouldn’t even be pens in non-contact sports

  2. Disappointing to see Hyam start, what sort of message does that deliver, play as shit as you like lads and you’ll keep your place.
I’d be amazed if it wasn’t the worst performance from any player, and any team in the Championship all season.

Then again, he left him on all match to see an even worse 2nd half.

Back to a back 3 by the looks of it, which is still yet to work under Eustace.

Leeds by 3. Rovers 1 shot off target.

  3. For all those in disgust that we're giving Wednesday 7k and not just shoving them in the DE Upper, I beg you don't go onto Rovers facebook.....but i'll put a taste below to help you pull your hair out:

"Another £175k plus food and drink, should spur us on more to put the ball in the net"

"Our best performance in years was in front of 7k geordies"

"How can we expect players to believe we are equal or better than them, if we don't"

"Poor decision from home supporters not to go more like"

"If we filled our own seats it wouldn't be a problem"

my favourite....."Where's your faith in the team? players often play better to larger crowds"

I honestly sometimes think we deserve our current mess, some of our lot only have air between their ears.

  4. When we lose to Leeds it’ll be 10 points from 13 league games under Eustace and 1 win.

JDTs final 13 league games….11 points.

Worth reminding all those with blinkers on raving about how we’ve improved the last few weeks and constantly quoting X points in X games.

Has a manager ever had the opposite of ‘new manager bounce’ to this extreme

Birmingham have Norwich on the last game while we play Leicester. Tough end for the pair of us. There new owners were announcing plans for a 50k capacity stadium before the match tonight and talking about how their plans to build the club won’t change with relegation…. Where were ours??

I know a lot of blues fans who are full of support of the new owners. Higher income than any other team outside the parachute payment clubs this season (according to them anyway).

Norwich may have nothing to play for mind you (we’ve been there before!)

Huddersfield also have Ipswich away last up. Ideal scenario is Leicester already winning the league and Leeds/Ipswich still battling for 2nd

  6. I fear for this squad if we do stay up. £0 will be reinvested we all know that (well all of us except one individual).

Szmodics, Tronstad, JRC from the starting 11 are probably the only 3 of true quality to start if we had any ambition moving forward.
We need a new GK, whole new back line, 2 wingers and a striker on a £0 budget.

  7. Brum losing is massive. They have 4 points from their last 10 matches, losing 8 of them, giving us a run for our money.

Our saving grace is that there is still a chunk of teams between us and the relegation places.

Hopefully Bristol City can do similar on Saturday against Huddersfield!

Heads should roll at Rovers tonight, I can’t wait for this season to end now and reassess if I give up in the summer

Could be very wrong but the 4 that have come on do not inspire me at all. Any positive I can take is Eustace has the balls to actually make the changes and not afraid to upset the snowflakes.

The lads that have come on should be chomping at the bit to seize the opportunity. I'll wait...

Not sure it’s balls, strikes me more a bloke who hasn’t got a clue and just had a gamble on changes. If it’s was ‘balls’ he’d have taken off Hyam for starters, closely followed by Gallagher and Brittain

We're absolutely relying on favours now - we needed 4 points from this game and the Wednesday game. I don't think we get anything from Leicester and Leeds.

We only need maximum 3 more for safety in my opinion….just hard to envisage where it comes from when watching performances like this!!

Probably, but Wednesday keep coming back from the brink, the path we set them upon when losing at Hillsborough 3 1 late last year. If they stay up from the position they were in prior to our visit, it will be one of the greatest ever relegation escapes.

True, and I guess they're a different team now to the 1st half of the season. Never the less, I think every club will have similar feelings around 'I'm nervous for this fixture'. Ideally you want to be playing someone mid-table and nothing to play for (like us tonight!)

You're far more confident than I am.

I fear we'll be looking over our shoulder on the final day.

We may well be, but I think if we are, there will still be a few teams between us and the relegation spots, so it would require a large swing (with Huddersfield away at Ipswich we need to hope they're still in with a sniff of automatics).

Hopefully we get the job done tonight!

Just had a Quick look at all the remaining fixtures and reaffirmed my belief that we desperately need something tonight. Pretty much all the involved teams have some very kind fixtures, Big club have Cardiff at home and also Rotherham and I really worry about our match against Wednesday. Three points tonight would be huge but we must get something otherwise, I still think we will drop.

Isn't that contradictory to some extent? Saying other clubs have kind fixtures, yet you're worried about our home match vs the 3rd worst team in the division who have a -31 goal difference.

1 win from our remaining 5 and we're safe. No chance are 3 of Birmingham, Wednesday, Huddersfield or Plymouth getting to 50 points, which they'd need if we get to 49 due to our GD. I actually think 2 draws does it on 48 points for us.
