And Adam doesn't have an invisible friend either.

Ah that myth being peddled again. Tugay played a high risk high reward forward  passing game.

If AW is performing at the top level when he’s 34 you can then start making comparisons.

  2. I recall him taking a quick throw in down the line from the half way line in one of the last home games of this season. A strictly forbidden strategy by us it would seem these days.

I immediately looked over to JDT who turned from his position on the byline and went over and said something to his assistants.

I suspect he isn’t one to toe the line which has probably hastened his departure from the club.

Would have been nice to acknowledge the fans.

Scored some good goals for us but imo by far the best was the header vs PNE at home.

Absolute class, although I’m not 100% he meant it. Sums up the player. A bit of an enigma. He will become an even better player or totally bomb wherever he ends up. I really have no idea.

To be fair it’s a lottery at Ewood to what kind of sound you’ll even hear coming out the tannoys - either ear splitting-ly loud, or… nowt as it broke about five years ago and they are ‘looking into it’.

Can’t even have a convo with my 80 year old Dad because of the noise levels. Another erosion of the matchday experience.
Bit by bit they seem to be pushing me away from supporting Rovers. 🤷🏻

Does signing Hirst and then no one at all not put any doubt in your minf as to whether Broughton can bring in a striker in the summer?

    It certainly does me!

I accept it’s hard to get a decent striker in when you are in the loan and freebie market.

However we supposedly offered Diaz a lucrative 1 year deal to stay another year and were prepared to pay O’Brien prem wages for 6 months so there must be some money in the pot and still be able to avoid coming a cropper over ffp?

They aren't bothered at all they didn't spend and the cock ups saved them a fortune so it's a bit less in the debt column on the spreadsheet.

We'll finish similar to last season so they can squawk 'great season buy a ST for next season now and we'll knock you a monumental 20 quid off'.  Then the prices go up again for late deciders and newbies which covers the £20 anyway.

Income maintained, spending in Jan compared to last season non, happy days for the bean counting fat controller.  Eeks another year and few hundred grand out of it at least.

Why is he bothered where we finish now or next season he really has no need to be.

....and Venky's continue to allow it to happen.

  7. 2 poor games - he’s shit.
    2 good games - he's great.
Half a season scoring goals - he’s worth £25m in the current market (Diaz).
4.5 seasons being poor to average - he’s not good enough - bench him, don’t care if he leaves.

If Dolan’s decision making was better he wouldn’t be playing for us.

If Dolan’s work rate and effort was worse, he wouldn’t be playing for us.

Imo he’s still developing and I haven’t written him off. Some clearly have.

I meant his message about AW having to do more work off the ball.

I agree with your point though. Good article in the LT today about the lack of response when we go behind. We don't seem to have a clue what to do when we concede firts. JDT has started blaming it on our finishing recently, saying we are making the chances but not converting them. I can't comment on yesterday as I wasn't there, but what was that the case i.e. missed chances?

Yeah sorry I thought I was in the match thread.

Yesterday as soon as they scored and for the 10 mins after it was just all so predictable and you knew where the game was going.  The keeper had a couple of saves to make towards the end which if we had a decent finisher maybe would have scored. Norwich were miles better though.

Adam W when he came showed more forward vision in his Cameo than Morton has all season.

JDT said as much last December. He's been pretty consistent with the message.

“I thought it was an equal game”. Hmmm

    Question I would have asked….

”Jon, we seem to have an inability to get back into games if we go a goal down. Your style is clearly to play around at the back to invite teams on to us, thus creating space and chances. However, once we go a goal down, continuing to do that doesn’t work because the opposition have no incentive to come at us anymore. Why do you persist with the same tactics when we go a goal down when the stats are proof it has never worked?”
